what kinds of protein shakes are you guys/gals using when on keto? i've noticed alot of the powders contain a good amount of carbs per serving.
when on keto, you have to mix the protein powders with water right?

yes mix with water. and for the type, find a whey protein isolate, they usually have 0-1g carbs

Whey Gourmet from PVL has 2-3 grams but only 1 g of sugar...but all carbs PWO are negligible.
Nature's Best 0 carb Isopure has no carbs, as do most other proteins that are a fruit flavour (eg. PVL's Whey Cooler/Breezer)
I personally like anabolic Innovations WPI because they have some really awesome flavors.
i buy in bulk, 20kg per bag from a manufacturer here in australia....flavourless etc, add water, sometimes THICK CREAM!!! mmmm tasty.....and then if i feel like it, some pure cocoa and stevia

20kg!?!?! where do you manage to get this from? this sounds way better than the little 500g containers that cost $20.
i use musashi g2 protien shakes. mixes easy in water using a shaker and it has like 1.2g carbs per 100g powder and gives you 27g protien :D from 30g powder
has anyone ever tried this:

?
Nope cant say I've tried that isolate but the price on it isnt too bad.

if you want a site to buy protein in bulk within north america go to www. t r u e p r o t e i n .com if you want the canadian site put t r u e p r o t e i ncanada.com
yea the price seems really good on that extreme labs stuff, but im not sure about the whole "timed release blah blah" garbage.
but then you're stuck with 20 kg of the same flavour! i'd rather have a bunch of 500g tubs of different flavorus lying aruond for variety

Wow thanks BeejGrpA...Thats about 1/4 of the price of normal protein powder off the shelf! Does it dissolve normally in water/skim milk like other protein powders?

the isolte and concentrate dissolve perfectly in a shaker....the calcium caseinate doesn't, but its perfectly fine for cooking
And wow isolate is like 100 bucks more expensive than the concentrate...which do you use and do you find any difference?

everyone says isolate is better coz its more filtered blar blar blar, im of the opinion as are most ppl that the difference is neglible. i just blend 50/50 coz thats what most good proteins i always purchased were

it's not that it's so much better, it is supposed to be less denatured from what i've read but it's just easier on my stomach and i think that should be your reasoning when deciding between a whey concentrate or isolate...
i think i will try a pound of a 50/50 blend next time just to see if i can some some bucks...
Ahh I see...Well considering all protein you eat gets broken down anyway should I really care about how "denatured" a protein is? Hmm...
EDIT: Isolate seems to have a higher pecentage of protein compared to concentrate (91% to 80%) by mass, now I understand :).
well i think it means that the protein can no longer be considered protein and can't be used by the body as such...

I thought hydrolyzed was the best, then isolate, then concentrate...

the only difference is going to be added flavour, and if they add BCAA's, AA's, vitmains and minerals

Nope, but it's fair if you think about it, the shop pays for the forum. No shop no forum.
