SLDL and romanian DL
Due to a problem with my right hip I stoped doing romanian DL's around the first of Oct and waited about 3 weeks before I started doing SLDL'S (first time) which didn't give me any problems with my hip since your legs are straight and really no bending with the hips. Romanian DL's were never to strong(390max) since starting SLDL'S I have progressed to 275x3 with no hip pain and my back feels good after I'm done. Now here is the problem today during SLDL'S I decided to give it another shot and tried 315x3 which I got but after the set I felt a small pain in the same hip and lower back. I know SLDL'S work the hamstrings hard along with the lower back, so should I continue with SLDL'S and keep romanian DL'S out of my routine for now? Will SLDL'S give me the same results in strength and overall sisze I'm looking far?

good info on both lifts.
maybe the hip problem isn't fully healed yet. i could understand back pain from an sldl (if ur form isnt good), but not really hip pain.

The 315x3 was romanian DL's not SLDL'S. I haven't really had any pain doing SL'S which makes me wonder why I would feel pain doing romanian's when it would seem like the SL'S would put more on your lower back. I have a video I took today if I coulf figure out how to get it off a Iphone that isnt synced with my computer.

hmm, yea a vid would help. perhaps your lowering the bar too far down on the romanians. on an sldl you can lower the bar more, not so on romanians (so it might be a form issue). again, hard to diagnose form w/o a vid (fuking iphone)
In contrast, if you can’t see yourself anymore, you’ve dropped your head and have rounded either your upper back, lower back or both. If you feel the tension come off of your hamstrings and into your low back, you’ve probably rounded your back as well. It’s also possible that you’ve bent your knees which will also take tension off of the hamstrings.
