Is it the impact with the water, drowning, or what?
I recently learned that you hang yourself by breaking your neck, not suffocating, so now i'm curious
Srs, no suicidal

the fish rape you to death when you hit the water
probably the huge fall on the waters surface knocks u out then u drown ? , not sure lol
When you fall from a high enough distance a body of water is similar to a concrete sidewalk
I would guess the impact would probably knock you out and either kill your or make you black out so you drown
What a wonderful thing to talk about on Christmas
surface tension of the water.
if you could break the surface with something before you fall in it, grenade or some kind of explosives or something that's falling faster than you, you will sustain less injury.
i always used to think ppl jumped off bridges without water underneath them so they hit the ground and die. but then i learned about how most bridge suicides in the US were at the golden gate bridge. how are all these people dying if they land in the water? i watch the summer olympics and people survive the high dive all the time.
If you don't clench your ass hole, a high pressure water enema shoots up your ass upon impact and explodes your insides
Heart attack on the way down.... semi srs... just barely srs
In B4 " you wont die op, i promise, give it a try!"
physics brah. The high speed falling making impact with the water is like basically landing on concrete. You could survive the fall but will probably brake some body parts which will not allow you to swim and you'd end up drowning

This. It's pretty much like hitting the ground.

That's because the olympians throw a little stone before they jump to create a ripple effect in the water and allow a clean penetration to the surface (phd in science checking in)

then how do they dive in the olympics??

well i understand that because they dive into pools where the water is still. but in a natural body of water, its usually moving. so there would already be ripples right? so how are people dying?
ominous thing to chat about sheesh.
then how do they dive in the olympics??
The water is disturbed at the point of probable impact.

This.
Ever belly flop into a pool? Kinda hurts huh? But how can water hurt? Picture a belly flop but from the top of a bridge.
Education level of peace.
Sharks, the sharks get them usually.
Internal bleeding. Don't try it OP
Too bad Santa can't bring people brains. Are these replies about not understanding serious?

There is proper technique to diving. They don't just jump off and hit the water in any random position. The technique is what prevents injury.
rendered unconscious on impact then drown
or
die on impact
btw, hanging only kills by breaking the neck if there is a drop of some distance. otherwise it's suffocation.
i saw a vid of a guy who hung himself on a doorknob while sitting on the floor
lmao at idiots telling op its this "surface tension"
OP when you jump off a high enough bridge your body produces something called "ecertimia" meaning tenisima reticima.
basically your body becomes like a females.

Or relatives of the condemned hanging off their legs to increase the weight to ensure the neck snaps and a quicker death.
The impact causes catastrophic internal damage. There have been cases of people surviving jumps from the Golden Gate Bridge but they are very rare.

Keyword "Dive"
Olympians dive with their hands out and very little surface area initally touching the water so they pierce through it. It's different than junping off a bridge with your body wide open. If high enough, your body could litterally explode when bellyflopping off a bridge
ive jumped off a really high bridge before and went into the water without a bruise or anything
all i had to do was throw a rock that i could hold with my hand into the water right before i hit the water
you should try it, it's like skydiving, except instead of pulling a parachut u throw a rock
pretty awesome
calm the fukk down op
having under 1k reps isn't THAT bad.....you're gonna make it op just hang in there
I hope S4V4NT is not srs
