hughesy4444 is totally off base. It is not a matter of weight gain. Focus and building muscle and don't emphasize weight gain. If you focus on weight gain you will just get fat. You look pretty darned good right now. Start putting only some muscle and you'll be amazed at how much better you look.

hey man, you look exactly how i did when i left for basic. i was tired of being called skinny as im sure you are too, so i began working out. i ate and still do eat around 4k calories a day and 200grams of protien a day. you also want a lot of quality complex carbs! don't worry about getting fat, bc with your metabolism all you need to do is get in the weight room, lift heavy and you will pack on the mass. and everything you pack on will be muscle! you have a great foundation, so just remember "eat like a beast, train like a freak, sleep like a queen" good luck!

You can overcome your high metabolism. You just need to try and eat calorie dense foods as much as possible. Keep working, you'll get there.

Thanks for asking. I think most people have nailed it on the head. EAT EAT EAT!!! Try and get down as many grams of protein as the body weight you want to be. As far as the weights go, hit low rep high weight to put some strength on. Thank you for all you do for our country! Talk to you soon
