"I pushed it to hard" - I said to myself as I find myself lying in a hospital bed again as trauma victim.

I was supersetting 5 (as in 5-Tetra) exercises push ups, wide dips, incline DB Press, Hammer Incline & Barbell Decline in nonstop fashion. After the 4th cycle I was feeling pretty good and decided to up the reps from 30 per exercise to 40 for the second half of the workout. During the 8th cycle on Hammer Inclines, pushing with maximum force beyond muscular failure I felt something burst in my left pec.

At first I though I may have exploded a vein or an artery in my chest from forcing too much blood and literally taking the pump and intramuscular pressure beyond bodily limits. I've done this before with other bodyparts and training methods so I know when I've pushed past the breaking point. My left arm started tingling and went numb and a hard golf ball sized bubble surfaced in my left pec.

With my right arm only I drove myself to the emergency room and the doctor immeditely diagnosed this as a left chest wall hematoma induced by acute trauma and ordered for an immediate evacutation. I was not able to use anesthesia because I had just been training and had taken some supplements prior to the workout, so this caused some concern from the medical staff. However they had to do the procedure and when they sliced it open it was like bursting a huge blood blister and blood went all over, it was pretty nauseating when you're seeing it done to yourself. It hurt some but since my endorphin levels were pretty high from the workout it didn't effect me as bad.

I guess this is what it must feel like when you get shot and have a bullet removed.

the iron never lies to you. You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk, get told that you're a god or a total bastard. The iron will always kick you the real deal. The iron is the great reference point, the all knowing perspective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black. I have found the Iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Freinds may come and go but two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds

Now that's pushing it--woww. Glad to hear you made it through. Sort of humbling to read and realize that injuries can and do occur. All the best bro. You are incredible. How are you doing now?

Dang brother. Thats intense. Except the only difference in having a bullet removed is that you get some morphine or some anesthesia before they cut. So kudos to you for taking nothing. I guess you thank god for endorphines. Glad you are okay now.
