Well i went and did it i entered and completed my first triathlon!!
I must say i was extreamly pleased at my time too, (15 mins off the pace of them young bucks!!
I had a great time and look forward to the next one, my traning consists of morning cycle 40 mins on hilly roads near home, afternoon run 30 mins, weekly swim, my gym workouts 4 days a week fits perfectly into the mix. I don't do any cardio at the gym as i get plenty in the tri training.
I would never have dreamed that i would ever be fit enough to compete in a triathlon as i was wayyy over weight (250lbs) but now i clock in at 180lbs and at 44 the fittest i have ever been in my life. I joined a new gym thats just opened local town, the owner said to me "damn man ya in great nic for 44"!!!
I would like to encourage you all to go all the way, set goals and get out there n make it happen, if a fat lazy slob like me can throw down that bag of chips get off me fat ass n go loose weight and compete in a triathlon, you can too!! or do what ever it is that a fit healthy body can do for you.
My next goal? i really really want to compete in a body building comp!! come on 2010 i gonna be ripped to shreds at 45 years old and just be lovin it!!!!!
