Squatting: slow eccentric but fast concentric?

Hi. Today, I was squatting and the reps were harder than they should have been (215 pounds went well, but 220 was hard). I felt that I was leaning forward too much, so I decided to lower the weight and instead focus on my form for the remainder of the workout. One thing that I tried and found to...

Deadlift grip loss

Today I did deadlift, managed to lift 300 lbs for 3 times but bar started to slip from my hands. I have strength to do much more, but slipping bar is holding me back. It's not problem just for deadlift, it happens often on lat pulldown, pull ups etc. How to improve this? Thanks for help!

shoulder press vs hammer strength shoulder press?

Hey what's up everybody. I have a question, and would like some input. I experienced an extremely bad shoulder injury in high school. Broke my shoulder in a few spots, had two surgeries and physical therapy. Since about a year after that I've never had any handicaps because of it. But now when...

Won't sissy squats and deep knee bends destroy the knees?

I'm about to start a blog about exercise. I have read elsewhere on the net that these are held with high value for some while totally dangerous for others. I'm still hesitant whether I should experiment with these or not and write about them, or just skip them totally and just stick with squats and...

Article: "3 reasons rows are inferior exercises for the lats"

Came across this article. Curious what people think of it. Not my opinion by the way, I quite like my barbell rows as an assistance exercise. http://bayesianbodybuilding.com/3-reasons-rows-inferior-exercise-lats/

Pec-Deck/Butterfly: Push or Pull?

I have a problem with rounded shoulders/posture. This makes sense as for the past 10 years of on and off weight-lifting I've focused much more on my chest then my back. In general I'm now trying to focus more on my back and using pulling exercises instead of pushing. However, I do want to see...

Building Up Chest

I need some advice with my chest. Due to injury I lost size in my chest. I have slowly been building it back up but I have a 'soggy' part right at the bottom of my pecs which I can't seem to build up/tone again. I injected l-carnitine into these parts a few months ago - would this have caused...

aware me on the CNS.

I frequently hear talk about how doing this or that is very CNS taxing. What part of the CNS? What organs? Is it in the spine or brain? What is being taxed in the CNS and how? Reps for all good explanations.

spotting someone on squats: awkward, only if you let it be?

A random guy asks you to do it for him, do you? if yes, do you get weird about it? But more importantly, how do YOU do it? I helped out a dude once in like my second week in the gym and didn't know what I was doing, which made it pretty awkward.

Rdl q

I go to PF if I go to gym late at night rather than regular gym so I ended up trying them w dumbbells rather than BB. Anyways felt like they pushed by back mid and lower more than glutes or hamstrings. Anyone else feel that way. i didn't do that much weight like 65 lbs X 12-15 reps four sets.
