Deadlift Form Check

Hi all, I know deadlift is a very technical lift and I want to be sure I have the form down on lock before I start throwing big numbers around. I've been doing a lot of Romanian Deadlifts but wanted to move over to Conventional (or possibly Sumo as that seems comfortable). I've taken a photo of...

Better to start with heavy weights first or light weights

I am new to lifting and I am wondering if I should start sets with the heaviest weights first with fewest reps and increase number of reps while decreasing weight. What would work best to build muscle and burn fat. Also how many reps should I do in each set and in what increments?

REALLY Wide Grip Bench ??

So I have a shoulder injury. A high degree of shoulder rotation causes great pain, and this includes regular bench pressing. However, I figured out at the gym today that if I grip the bar really wide, my shoulder doesn't rotate enough to cause significant pain. When I say wide, I mean index...

How do you emphasize each triceps head?

I'd like to know how to emphasize each of the three heads of the triceps. I used to think that triceps exercises in which your elbows are held by your sides and you use an overhand or neutral grip (e.g. rope pushdown) put emphasis on your lateral head, but this seems to be contradicted by an old...

Why does the millitary put emphasis on Sit Ups?

It is often quoted that sit ups do more harm than good (They put a lot of strain on your back) and there are better ways to build up core strength / endurance. Then why do armies across the world put so much emphasis on sit ups? Is it because it requires zero equipment or that its easier to...
