Squatting With Long Femurs

I've been watching the Exercises section ever since I figured out how to squat with my long femurs. I see a lot of "help my squat!" threads that follow a common theme: OP: "can you check my squat form? Also, why does my center of gravity keep going onto my toes?" OP's video: a squat above...

Can't progress in Lat Pulldown

I work out at home and for about a month now I haven't been able to progress in Reverse Grip Lat Pull downs (90 lbs). Back when I used to do pull ups the progress was slow/halted but my diet is much better now than it was back then. I'd rather do pull ups but don't have anywhere to do them. I'm...

Weighted often?

I have been doing push-ups for 2 months now since the gym is not available as for now. I've seen great muscle increases in my chest, back, shoulders, and arms. They have also worked my core. Since it is a compound exercise rather than isolation, it has been a rather slow progress. I have been...

Weighted often?

I have been doing push-ups as my main chest workout and I have seen incredible results. I have put size in my back, arms, chest, and lats. My core has also been worked. After they started to get really easy, I added weight (25lbs) and it's a lot more challenging. I do several variations like...

Which twist works which side?

I am curious to know which twist works which side of your abs whether it be a russian twist or a cross-body crunch. Ex. In a cross-body crunch, when I touch my left leg with my right elbow, does that work the right side of my abs?

Why is my bench press stronger than my squat?

I can bench press 250lbs. However, as for squats, I can only do 5 reps of 225lbs. Would it be safe to start squatting everyday? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Question Landmines 180

Since my BF% started to drop to a more decent value and my abs started to show a bit, I decided to look for a good exercise for abs (I hate crunches) and found this one. Not only seems to work the abs but a lot of other muscles. I tried it a few times and indeed left my upper body on fire, arms...

Best Exercises for phone sales in a cubicle

I currently work in phone sales as my day job. I'm here anywhere from 9-12 hours a day. I spend about 9 of those hours at my desk. I have however converted my desk into a standing desk so that I am no longer sitting all day long. I work out 5 days a week typically around 6 pm (after i get off). I...

Butt bone

I'm a 20 year old and started to work out last week. So far, it's going good, especially sweating well. However, I have so much trouble doing sit-ups because every time I do them, it hurts my butt bone. Is there a way I could do sit ups without my butt bone being hurt? I also think that its not...

Deadlift Vid

Hey posted a vid last week of my deadlift because my lower back was very strained for 20 minutes every time right after I did my sets. All the advice said to stay tight and hips were rising before the bar and to also use my legs more as I never even feel that Deadlift is a leg exercise for me. In...

Cable Crossovers - Does cable height matter?

I know setting it low to high does focuses on the 'upper chest', and a higher setting focuses more on the 'lower chest'. I'm focusing on the latter. I was wondering should the cables be chest level, eyeline level, above your head level or the highest setting level? Also does it matter which...

How Many Burned Calories?

Can anybody help me figure out the amount of burned calories per lifting session? I do this three times a week: MON-WED-FRI. It is a moderate lifting program I made myself. I use dumbbells - I know my weights are nothing compared to most of you... :) I just started a few weeks ago. How many...

Exercises for a Friend

I have a friend who had a microdiscectomy surgery about 5 months ago. He was told by the doctor that he couldn't squat or deadlift. He likes lifting but is having trouble finding leg exercises. He was doing leg presses but felt a searing pain down his leg one rep doing them, so he decided he was...

Lightheaded and seeing stars on front squats

Always repping for less than 6 reps, most weight with good form. When I take a really deep breath, squat down and breathe out on the way up I get super light headed, to the point where I start shaking uncontrollably, and have twice seen stars and dropped the bar on the next rep. Pressure in my head...

Need Experienced Input on Programming

I have been lifting for 3 years now. Mostly straight thru with the exception of gym injuries and long hours at work. I've come to realize that due to genetics, age, diet and maybe other factors I am not going to be "jacked up" or "ripped". You can definitely tell I lift but not to the degree of...
