How tall are you and can you dunk?

Yes, I'm sure this has been posted many times before. No, I don't care. I'm interested to see how tall the people that can dunk are, and how tall the people that can't dunk are. I'm only 5'7", maybe 5'8", and I'm almost able to dunk on a 9.5ft, and then after that I'll work up to standard...

Bodybuilding Runners are a rare breed join me in here.

Hello gentlemen, I was just curious if there are any bodybuilding runners in here. I can't be alone. I know in general runners fear free weights and bodybuilders don't run much. I recently started a blog site about my efforts as a Bodybuilder to run in a Marathon and maintain maximum size and...

MALE CHEERLEADERS: athletes or sissy-boys?

Doing a broadcast this evening (thebiginside.com), and we're interviewing some male cheerleaders. These guys are professionals (one cheers for the Boston Celtics, and both compete in cheerleading), and likewise these guys are diesel. They, in fact, probably look more like the stereotype of...

Ask a D1 Football Player

I'm a division 1 football player. I can answer most questions you may have, I've been through all of the different phases. Early on in highschool I was extremely inexperienced and lazy, I got fat and had a few major setbacks. Then I dedicated myself in the weightroom and in training and turned...

I want to learn to fight. Any ideas?

OK, so, I'm 25 years old, 1.75 meters tall, weigh 80 kg, and I've been lifting for about 4 months. I can bench press 50 pounds, curl 40, squat 50 and deadlift 80. Sounds like not much but it is if we consider that when I first started I could barely bench press 10 and deadlift 40. Since I live...

Hey guys, (This actually turned into a pretty long rant, I apologize) As you can see by my profile I am 5'11'' and around 220 pounds. This past summer I went to camp after "helmets-only" camp to demonstrate my athletic skill, the only problem was: I went out as a linebacker. I...

UPPER BODY training is much more important than lower body for most sports

Alot of people think that squats and deadlifts are the most important lifts to get faster and stronger. I have to disagree with this, especially for in-season lifting. Here is why upper body work is important: 1) With running sports, you can hit the non-prime mover muscles and strengthen...

Push ups everyday...?

Alright, now first off I feel like a total newb for asking this question.. but... Is it ok (beneficial) to do push ups everyday? Usually, obviously, your supposed to give your body time to recover (48 hours)... but on wrestling teams, and in the military, and things of that nature (all kinds of...

Rugby training

I tried out for my rugby team at college this year (a decent d-2 rugby program) and I made the team and actually ended up making the starting line up this year as a wing (if you couldn't tell by the 5 foot 8 155 lb body) but anyways the offseason is coming up and I'm looking for ways to gain speed...

Not convinced NBA guards lift that much

I heard NBA guards are able to squat in the 300's and bench in the high 200's. I know it's not that much but I'm not convinced that they can actually lift that much. For examples look how skinny Steve Nash, Stephen Curry, and Brandon Jennings are. I doubt they can lift that heavy. Does anyone have...

Explosive Sprinting

Need to go from 0 to 60 when I'm sprinting. Playing baseball and I want to get faster for base stealing/pickles/catching fly balls/grounders etc. Will doing power cleans help along with sprinting up hills? Any better ways to improve this will be much appreciated.
