Sticky Thread Sticky: Daily Workout - Challenges and Victories

In light of the extreme focus this board has in regards to the 'body beautiful' (and the frustration that results in people not 'getting results fast enough'), I thought I would create a sticky that changed the focus a little.... This is a thread for posters to use to recognise 'every day'...

Bruising appear on each body part after workout?

Hi guys, so i workout quite regularly between 5-6 times a week, mostly weight training. The thing is after i work a specific body part i develop small bruises in that area. I didn't really think anything of it at first, maybe just a muscle tissue tear during the breaking down process. However i've...

Why should women train chest?

Ok, this may be totally obvious, but why should a woman train chest? We have boobs, not pecs. I do train chest (usually with Back), but I've been questioning lately if this is really necessary or not. I'd like to hear your opinions on how Chest exercises affect a woman's physique!

BIKRAM YOGA: Instructor says no weights

Hi! I just attended my first bikram yoga class this AM. It was very enjoyable. Afterwards, the instructor said I did very well, so I mentioned I had been weight training for about a month. He said, "well if you are looking to tone you don't have to do that, you can just do this." My thoughts...

Talking What's everyone's most "hated" set/exercise?

I thought this would be fun. These are the exercises that you dread. The ones that you have to psych yourself up for. I'll go first: Pistol squats, barbell lunges, and unassisted dips. how I loathe Thee! It's a love/hate thing. Oh, and for some reason..stretching. I have the flexibility of a...

Thumbs down I dislike cardio.

I lost a lot of weight on diet alone last year, A few months ago I felt I was finally ready to start exercising. I began doing short jogs and random cardio workouts I found on youtube. I became bored with this very quickly and decided I was finally ready (confident enough) to join a gym. I did the...

NROL (or NROLFW) vs. the 12 weeks plans geared towards women on this site

I am still trying to find a good program to start with and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on which might be better. From what I have been reading about the NROL it seems like it would be a longer program (meaning 6-8 months of progressive training) as opposed to one of the 12-week...

Losing fat from hips, calves and chest?

Losing fat from hips, calves and chest? I have trouble to lose weight from my caves, hips and chest. I know that is almost impossible to choose to lose weight from one area, but from my experience I know that a LOT of swimming made my arms really skinny and toned. It was a good thing because I...

BO issues

Not sure if this is the best place to put this, but here goes. I've been having problems with smelly sweat on days where I do prolonged high intensity workouts. For example if I go on a 2 hr run, or if I lift for an hour and then do an hour of cardio. Hygiene wise, I'm showering 3 times per...

Training with hoodie or not?

Hi, I'm doing the Ashley Conrad program right now, and she suggests to wear a hoodie to loose water weight and eliminate toxins. In that way, it's speeding up metabolism. Is it right or not? I'm arguing with friends who say that it's better to train with a minimum of clothes to fight cold. Who's...
