Sticky Thread Sticky: Daily Workout - Challenges and Victories

In light of the extreme focus this board has in regards to the 'body beautiful' (and the frustration that results in people not 'getting results fast enough'), I thought I would create a sticky that changed the focus a little.... This is a thread for posters to use to recognise 'every day'...

Normal to feel more sore 2nd day post w/o?

I always seem to feel it more not the day after, but the second day after my workout. Is this normal? By that time it is usually time to get back in the gym (doing New Rules, stage one). So I am lifting 3 times a week. Thank goodness at least the workouts on that plan are alternating....but...

Can't get past plateau or seem to get enough healthy calories in

I am 35. 5'2" and 118. I would like to maybe lose 3 more pounds but primarily I want lean muscle. I do mostly workout DVDs. I just finished the new beachbody 21 day fix & I did not lose inches or weight. It has very specific diet plan to follow. By doing that I was of course in the smallest calorie...

Under-rated exercises

Can you share yours? I'd have to say: High step-ups. I've been doing these set to a 30" step (half my height, basically) and holy ****. It makes me want to "cool down" with heavy squats.

Hip adductor/abductor machines...beneficial or unnecessary?

Do you guys do these? My leg routine consists of dead lifts, squats, split squats, leg press, laying/seated leg curls, and calf raises. Are these machines something good to add in or waste of time?

12 weeks weight training and cardio but very little fat loss

Hoping for some guidance as I am doing something wrong. Lost about 35 lbs 4 years ago and have kept it off with much healthier eating and a more active lifestyle. In January I started with a trainer to step it up and really tone up and get tight (currently about 25% bf). This however has not...

Question Deadlift or Romanian Deadlift?

Need a new program

I'm about a month into NROLFW and I'm not that into it. This is the first time I've tried a full body workout and I think I'd prefer a split. I hate starting something and not finishing it, but it know this isn't for me. I workout from home so I can't do anything that requires cable machines. I...

What sort of gains are possible on a deadlift?

I am new to deadlifting, but not to weight training. After about a month of deadlifting, my 1RM is 245 pounds. I thought it would be a wonderful thing to be able to lift 300 pounds on my 35th birthday, which is in eight months. I weigh about 135. I don’t want to set myself up for disappointment...

How do you do a full body routine?

By the time I get to the third/fourth exercise in my routine, I'm exhausted. Particularly when I've been deadlifting. It'd be fine if it was the second time I hit a muscle, but it happens even when I haven't touched the muscle yet. Ie, I jogged 10 min to warm up, deadlifted, bench pressed, and...
