Sticky Thread Sticky: Daily Workout - Challenges and Victories

In light of the extreme focus this board has in regards to the 'body beautiful' (and the frustration that results in people not 'getting results fast enough'), I thought I would create a sticky that changed the focus a little.... This is a thread for posters to use to recognise 'every day'...

I need a new program. Seriously.

Time and time again it is said on the forum: don't do a program you've cobbled together yourself. Choose a proven program that works with your goals. Yeah... I've done PHUL with some lower body tweaks (glutes instead of calves) the last six months and I'm really, really tired of it. Last time I did...

I'm currently doing body weight training. My question is 100 reps of an exercise useful. I wanted to try with movements that targeted the glutes. I started two days ago and oh my goodness, my legs are still burning. I guess I'm asking wil I see some growth from this (I understand it won't be...

Can you naturally just have big thigh muscles?

My thighs are one of my main concerns as far as reaching my ideal body image. I used to do short distance sprints in track and as long as I can remember, I've always had thicker more muscular arms and legs but a small waist and flat stomach. I was looking at this article, and towards the bottom...

Smile Dumbbell press versus Bench press

Can I substitute dumbbell press for bench press. I finally decided to stop skipping chest at the gym and I'm making good progression. I workout alone and often fail in my final set. Would like to switch to dumbbell press instead to avoid embarrassing or killing myself. Any drawbacks?

New, will you help me set goals/workout?

I'm a 35 year old lady. Before pregnancy I was 5'6" 110 lbs, slim, good metabolism, little muscle. Confused on how to get leaner without losing curves? Should i bulk or cut??

I am about 5'6 and around 125 lbs currently. I just want some advice on what to do to get my whole body more lean and toned, while keeping my curves, and making them look more defined/bigger. At the moment I am sort of "skinny-fat", most of the fat that goes into my body stores right onto my...

is it ok to do HIIT and then a relaxed pace walk

Is it ok to do HIIT 30 minutes and then a 30 minute walk, not super fast, but normal-slightly fast four times a week? I just feel the need to move my body since most of the time I'm sedentary and if i only do a HIIT, that means the rest of the day I'm mostly sitting.
