Help changing my routine

Hi all. I've been lifting weights (4 days a week) & doing cardio (3 days a week), and eating 'clean' fairly consistently for just over a year now. When I started last year, I saw great results within 6-7 months as I was working towards a goal of going away on holiday. After this, I had less to...

Exclamation Glute workout help!

I've come to notice that my glutes are my trouble area. I would like them to become larger and round. They aren't too bad but I have seen no progression except my bum getting smaller! Any workouts or exercises that might help me build a bigger butt would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Asymmetrical Glutes

Eta: I know being in a deficit I can not grow these muscles. That's not my intention right now. I'm more concerned that with my physical compensations I'm not able to work them symmetrically at the same time. But I think I might be in that newbie gains catagory too ;) End edit: This is...

Question Box Jumping

Lately I have been wanting to add more jumping into my training routines, but quite frankly am intimidated by box jumping. Any suggestions or tips to get me going?

Under-rated exercises

Can you share yours? I'd have to say: High step-ups. I've been doing these set to a 30" step (half my height, basically) and holy ****. It makes me want to "cool down" with heavy squats.

Exclamation New to bodybuilding! Tips and advice please :)

I'm 5'8 and 115lbs, super fast metabolism...I would really like to gain at least 10lbs in muscle. I have been trying to eat 2100 calories a day, diet is something I'm working on...

Question on simply shredded program

I'll be starting Week 5 of the simply shredded program in a couple of days. Week 5 requires you to increase the weight and decrease the amount of reps you do from 8-12 to 6-8. I'm not feeling confident that i will be able to increase the weight on ALL of the exercises/lifts. What should I do in...

Not Working Enough Muscle Groups?

Okay, okay. I know there's tons of similar posts and I didn't think I'd ever cave and make one...but it's time. I was pretty dedicated to lifting/training all last summer/spring and the winter prior. As in...fell off the wagon this past fall and winter. When I was really dedicated, I ran PHAT and...

Do you work the same muscle groups if they're still sore from a previous workout?

Hi Ladies, Keen to get your thoughts on this conundrum ... Would you hit a muscle group again, if any of those muscles are 'really' sore? I know it's hard to define 'really sore'... what I think is sore will likely differ to what others classify as sore. At the moment I am doing SL...

Cool Newbie gains

I've read a lot on here about so called "newbie gains" - people losing fat and gaining muscle at the same time. I was wondering how common this is? I've also heard a lot of people say they wish they'd maximised their newbie gains when they had the chance - I'm a noob so I'd very much like to...

How to lose fat/muscle on my arms?

I'm not saying exactly I want to have no muscle on my arms, but I prefer small and toned arms than big muscular arms. I workout heavy weights for my leg and glutes to enlarge the size, and lighter weight (& high reps/set) to tone my upper body. And I do my workout on my arms, and it seems like my...

Unhappy Glute Muscle Mass. Nothing seems to work.

Hello, So, for the past 3 months I have been doing heavy weight training with exercises such as the barbell hip thrusts, squats (going very low), back extensions, lunges, quite honestly I forgot what the exercise is called but pulling the cable weights through the legs while standing facing away...

Back squat vs hack squat

Question: there are times when the squat rack in the gym is being occupied by the same person for about 45 minutes, so I head over to the hack squat machine. The hack squats are challenging but I can do a lot more weight than I could with back squats. What is the main difference between the two...

squatting problem with dumbbells

Hi, I am newer to lifting and currently working with dumbbells. I have noticed that while squatting with dumbbells, my hands give up before my legs...Is it normal? Also, is squatting/DLing/shoulder pressing a weight relatively easier with barbel than dumbbells?

Question How often do you Squat?

Just wondering how often you all do squats? If you do them more then 2 times a week, would that be overtraining? If your trying to gain muscle, how many reps/sets would be good? Thanks for your responses. :)
