Forum: Training

Weight training and cardio questions.

Can muscles 'deflate'?

I know, might be a stupid question. But can/do muscles flatten out/deflate when weight training stops for a bit? Here's why I'm asking: I've been away from the gym since April 18th. Today is May 23rd. I was on vacation until this past Monday so could not lift. I will be going back to the gym...

Substitute For Push Ups

I am 3 months postpartum and recovering from mild Golfer's Elbow-left arm. (I believe I developed this from always holding my newborn in the crook of my elbow, I also have hyperextended elbows) I have seen a Sports Medicine Dr and been given PT to strengthen forearms and told to keep up my strength...

Thumbs up Zombies, Run!

Does anyone else use this app? I'm on my 3rd mission as runner 5, season 1 .. If you do cardo it really helps keep your mind busy while running. It always seems like the zombies give chase right when I'm reaching a killer hill. *LOL* The program basically tells a story of a zombie apocalypse,...

Training twice a day?

My question is. Is it ok to train twice a day? As of now, I train each body part once a week. I want to start training each body part twice a week, but I need to know if 3 days are enough for muscles to heal up. If training same muscle group twice a week is not good, what if I increase number of...

Tracy Anderson....

Has anyone ever heard of her???? She trains Madonna and Gweneth Paltrow. She uses some type of method that is said to elongate(sp?) your muscles rather than make them bulkey. Was thinking about ordering one of her videos, but wanted to know what you all thought first. Here her site:...

Sit up problem

Why is it that whenever I do situps I feel a tightness in my hips as opposed to core once I get to around 30-40? Any suggestions on how to take the strain out of my hips and improve sit up count, other than just do situps everyday?
