Sticky Thread Sticky: Daily Workout - Challenges and Victories

In light of the extreme focus this board has in regards to the 'body beautiful' (and the frustration that results in people not 'getting results fast enough'), I thought I would create a sticky that changed the focus a little.... This is a thread for posters to use to recognise 'every day'...

Trouble increasing dumbbell shoulder press weight

I train alone at the gym and the dumbbells jump from 10k to 12.5k. I can comfortably do sets of 10 with the 10k but I can't manage to jump to 12.5k. I'm thinking about switching to a shoulder press machine where the increments are lighter. I have the same problem with dumbbell bench press, can do...

Abs/Core Training Program Suggestions

Hi all I'm onto a pretty great program which I mostly love, the only area I am looking at tweaking is core and abs training. I'll start by saying that I am 100% aware that no amount of training that area is going to give me a magic six pack or miraculously flatten my stomach and that's not what...

Cardio = Exhaustion

For as long as I can remember, I've always had an issue with low intensity and long duration cardio. I can do interval training and high intensity stuff and feel physically tired, but not exhausted. I go for a 60 minute walk or clean the house and I need to sleep afterwards. I feel physically and...

Starting to research a new program, suggestions?

I am on week 7 of PHUL. I plan on running this for 12 weeks and then want to change it up. I am seeing (what I think) great results but want something that focuses on splitting body parts up to get some more intricate work on areas. I can realistically work out 4-5 days a week at the gym....

To Rest or To Push-Through: How do you decide?

I'm only 3 months in at serious (i.e. consistent & heavy) lifting. I started out during the first two months lifting 5 days a week and then I realized that that was too much for my newbie self and in the past month I've moved to the Simply Shredded 4-day/week, upper/lower split. For some reason,...
