Journey to my first fight

My goal, simply, is to have a full contact MMA fight by April, 2014. ( fights which don't allow strikes to the head or require helmets, etc.. don't count). I currently don't train MMA, although I have trained previously without much in the way of goals. The first sub-goal on my journey is to...

20 years old too old to start MMA?

Hey, I'm actually turning 21 this fall and wondering if I'm ''too old'' to start MMA. The short answer is obviously ''No.'', but if I'm looking to compete later on, would this be too much of a disadvantage? I have a judo background (blue belt), so I have some base, also trained muay thai for a...

New to MMA log

Been doing mma formally for about six months now and loving it. I have been doing Muay Thai, along with jiu jitsu, judo, and some full fledged mma days. I am enjoying Muay Thai the most simply because I can muscle through it and be able to compensate for some lack of technique with speed and...

Improving flexibility?

Anybody have tips on how to improve leg flexibility, specificly doing the splits or stretching your legs out in front of you. I've tried simple static stretching in the past after a small warmup and I got very slow, minimal results. It didn't improve 'with time' either, even when I was grappling a...
