Question Why should you keep fat lower than carbs?

I know that keeping fat relatively low helps keep you lean and has been advocated by bodybuilders for decades. But why? What makes fat so apt to making your "gains" mostly fat? Is it because your body doesn't use it as a primary source of energy or what? Just curious.

Question Increasing calories slowly?

Hi Iis it possible to increase calories without gaining weight or gaining minimal weight? Lets say I increase carbs by 10 grams every 2 weeks, while keeping the fats and protein the same? Would my metabolism adapt to the new calorie intake? I hope this is an easy question to understand...
