Forum: Over 35 Misc

For talking about anything from the over 35 section!

Another Feel Good Story...but from bb.com

"Fred" is a member of the bodybuilding.com. Fred frequents the Canadian thread in the big misc. to chat with his fellow country folk. Fred meets a lot of cool folks on there but strikes up a friendship with one who used to live in the same city as he. We'll call him Harry. Both are over 35. ...

an addiction?

Does anyone have an addiction to upgrading (or adding) equipment to their home gym? I've only been putting the gym together in my basement for about a month and I'm still combing craigslist and other sites for deals on equipment! I probably have more than enough, but now i'm looking at cable...

Non-Pet Birthday Presents

Those of us in the geriatric Misc may fondly remember playing this bar game during our youth. This version does a great job of replicating the console experience down to the trackball. Highly recommended. The teenage kids were like, are the graphics supposed to look like this? I said, this used...

-------Real Talk--------

So this is a Real Talk thread, for those of you who do not know what Real Talk means, it means no BS, speak from your heart without worrying about repercussions, or offending others. It means to speak freely and truthfully. My real talk for the day: We need to stop all this political...

A bar for the O35 crowd

This sounded interesting, but then I got to the last sentence and laughed... ST. LOUIS (AP) - Look around the Zodiac Lounge in north St. Louis and chances are you won't see any 20-somethings. The bar, situated between an environmental Superfund site and an Aldi supermarket, seeks a decidedly...

A & E Suspends star of Duck Dynasty for his Beliefs ! A civil sane discussion

Can we have a Civil discussion in the OV 35 Misc Section on this without getting the boot ? I am of the Opinion that The matter is grave, and does deserve a strong response. There's a lingering danger, which must not be ignored: the temptation to apologize for a sincerely held belief. If...

Talking Parents, ITT You Post Something Awesome about your Child/ren!

At we approach the Christmas season, sometimes it can be a little difficult to remember what is awesome about your children. I don't know what it is, but the "most magical time of year" seems to bring out the very worst in people. So post something awesome about your children or grandchildren, or...

Re-start...took a nice long break

Took eight weeks off from serious workouts in order to travel, spend some time with my Dad, and do some serious diving in Honduras and Papua New Guinea. Now it's time to hit re-start, and feeling the pain after the first few week of training. Hate having lost of fair amount of weight, and having...

Just signed the paperwork...

We're getting married. Filled out the marriage license application to get married in Iowa, all notarized and mailed off. After more than 20 years together it seems kind of anti-climactic, but it still fills me with happiness and I was surprised to feel my eyes welling up as we signed the forms. ...

Workout Wear

This is not a 'fashion' thread. LOL You want something comfortable to workout in. Doesn't matter in the least what it looks like. I've worn the same pair of sweat pants for the past 3 years. They fit, they're comfortable...but there's a hole in the right knee now, and they're just about thread...

Dantonio deserves this one. He's been put through so much, but always persevered. A fighter. A warrior. A champion. This is the first time I can remember seeing him smile in years.

One thing that i really appreciate about people older than me is that when they tell me what things to avoid at a young age. I'm 19. what would you done differently? what would you change? what should you have avoided?
