Forum: Over 35 Misc

For talking about anything from the over 35 section!

Are you stuck in your time?

First off I am not trying to be disrespectful to anyone who is. I am just curious as to WHO is. What do I mean by "stuck in your time"? Well a lot of folks I talk to (irl and on social media) always say to me, "man movies, TV shows, music, etc etc, is not the way it USED to be "I rather...

What is happening to Hobbits?

Seems like Hobbits these days aren't nearly as Hobbit like as they were when I was younger. I keep reading about so-called "Hobbits" going off on adventures, hanging around with strange folk, and doing all sorts of unHobbit-like things. Why, I have even heard of Hobbits wearing mithril shirts and...

My son is loving squats now.

Several months ago when my son started training with me he hated squats, every Monday he dreaded coming to the gym. For the last 5 weeks we have been doing squats 3 times a week, he is up by 60lbs and he told me yesterday he now looks forward to squatting and putting more weight on the bar! :D :D ...

Training is mental, just wanted to mention this

I know most of you who have been training know this to be true. I am sure most, if not all of you have felt tired and unmotivated and your workout did not go so well and then there are other times when you were mentally focused and the weight just felt light and you felt like you can take on the...

This may be a stupid question, but

Do your fingernails grow fast? My fingernails (and toe nails as well) grow extremely fast and if I don't look after them they will be mad long. This bugs the crap out of me while training and on my feet they start hurting when I wear shoes, not so much when I wear sneakers. So the question...

Yep, it's true. Have written three 'L' books and two will be published next year. The third, still waiting for a reply. Just in case... 1. No, not gay, but for the record I don't care what orientation you follow, as long as you're a good person it's fine in my book. 2. Yes, still married,...

Last night was the beginning of my 5th week on my new routine.

I started doing a routine similar to 5x5 where I do Squats, Deadlifts, BOR, bench and OHP 3x a week, Mon, Wed, Fridays 4 weeks ago. But instead of 5x5 I do 3 sets of 5 reps and I do all 5 movements every workout but only do 1 set of 5 reps for deads, but we do them every workout. I am happy with...

Hey BH I have to admit I have zero knowledge of the Bronx and what it would be like to live there. I grew up in suburbia where everything was safe, I don't recall any thefts,we as kids could leave our pushbikes on the front lawn etc and know they would be there in the morning if we wanted (we...

So sugary soda cuts short your life.... oh really.....

http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2014/10/18/ucsf-study-links-soda-to-premature-aging-disease-early-death/ Soda supposedly shortens your life... sugar sodas that is, but supposedly fruit juice (and diet sodas) does not. I think this study is seriously suspicious....
