Has anyone studied to be a personal trainer primarily for their own benefit?

In other words, you studied so you could learn to improve your own physique rather than to assist others? There's a lot of bro science out there and this seems like the best way to gather knowledge, to get a college degree in Kinesiology and get cscs certified.
