Do you do "orientations" at your work place? Is this a good way to sell?

The gym I work at sets up new members on "orientations" and this is supposed to be an opportunity for me to sell personal training. I was told by management to "speak to them for no longer than 5 minutes and then throw them on a treadmill and kick their ass." This isn't the type of trainer I am or...

I am currently NASM certified; trying to figure out what the cheapest nationally accredited group fitness certification is. Will probably be pursuing a 4 year kinetic related degree before going for NSCA certifications but I wanted to ask around and see if there are any other certifications that...

"Lengthy" Contracts Should Be Extinct

If you are someone who still uses "lengthy" contracts in order to "lock in" a client for a set period of time.....you are outdated. This is JUST ONE of many selfish/greedy tactics used by fitness professionals. The purpose of a contract for say 6 months....is to lock up consistent income....

Do you give "free sessions"?

At my gym, I hear trainers do this from time to time. They see someone do an exercise with bad form, they correct them, chat a little bit, and then offer them a free session so the trainer can help with their issues. I am just wondering in your experience, usually does giving a free session gain...

Do you think macronutrients matter?

I want to make better nutrition recommendations for my clients beyond "choose lean meats, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds."
