Exercises to avoid

I've heard that some exercises actually make you weaker, how does that happen? Are there any other negative side effects to those workouts?

Some questions about goals

Hello! I'm a 22 year old female, 165cm and 118lbs, hoping to get bodyfat measured tomorrow - but going on the highly unscientific 'what my body sort of looks like' I'd guess my body fat to be around 22%. I'm in the performance industry (acting/circus etc) and for this reason I don't want to...

Anyone out there who has been there, done that regarding perimenopause/HRT. Is there no hope for losing remaining 15 pounds of fat? Gaining muscle? My body seems to do what it wants, not what I want these days. It gets very frustrating, which is why I joined this last week.

PHUL vs. Push/Pull/Legs - Bulking Workout Plan

I have been researching and trying to find the best plan to use for my bulk this fall. Currently I'm considering the PHUL plan or Nick Ludlow's Push/Pull/Legs plan. (Both programs can be found on Muscle and Strength's website by googling their title). Does anyone have experience with either of...

I was hoping someone can help me with my goal that I am wanting to achieve. I am 1-1.5 years of strength training, and I built a good amount of muscle so far. I want to gain more, but I feel I am stuck and I haven't been able to see progress. Because of stomach issues I had a couple of months...

Not sure if anyone here is very familiar with yoga but I'll give it a shot. I've been working out, a combination of HIIT and strength training, since February. While I love it, I'm also very interested in becoming stronger through yoga. I took a few classes over the winter and I liked the concept...

Better WH ratio

Okay so I'm 19, kind of skinny-fat. My WH ratio was pretty good (around .65 I think) but I've gained some weight and I think it decreased a little (I'm around 35-28-35). I really want to get curvier, and I don't mind gaining fat for that, but the issue is most of it went to my gut, so now I'm...

Skinny body, huge belly syndrome.

Hey guys, I've been working out for a good few months now (3x weight lifting a week, HIIT 1-2x a week) and been noticing great muscle tone in my arms and legs. I can deadlift and squat close to my body weight and progressed from not being able to do a single military push up to cranking out 20...

Stomach Fat

Hey. I've been on a sold cut for months, and have been on track. I take a thermogenic fat burner, eat my protein, at about a 700cal deficit 6 days a week. The scale isn't moving, which is fine because I think I'm still building muscle and some spots are getting more defined. BUT I'm finding spots...

Callouses and grip issues

So what is everyone's opinion on weight lifting gloves? I have heard mixed opinions -- some say it interferes with grip, and others swear by them. I am still a newbie -- only 4 months in -- and so far I have never used gloves, but then again, it hasn't really been something even necessary for me...

Absorbtion problems and bodyfat

After a long history of being malnourished (over 10 years), I wanted to become more healthy and fit by going to the gym. (august 2014) Weirdly enough I lost a muscle (and fat) instead of gaining it, I got more health complications and quit in May. Because I lost so much weight at the time I started...

Waist training/corset training, yay or nah? Anyone tried it?

So I bought a waist trainer about two weeks ago. I tried it on and immediately realized it was too big. So now I have to return it and get a smaller size. But I've been thinking about just returning and getting my money back. It was $140. I really want that perfect hourglass body though. I'm...

Can't get my squat form down!

Read up every possible thing I could do for high bar squats. Big breath (breathe air into lower back, chest out, knees out, push through midst, squeeze gluten on ascent, neutral head position, etc.) Heck, I even read on anatomy about what stance width would be best for me. Here, I am doing high...
