Question Should I compete and which physique should I am for?

I've been thinking about competing on stage for about 6 months now. I used to be always against it; "why should I work my arse off for someone to then tell me I'm not good enough?" But for some reason, now that I've gotten to meet a lot of women who have competed (including a handful of friends),...

Increasing weight

Hello! I'm new to this site and exercising. I'm not the strongest person, but I'm hoping to be a bit better by this summer. I can currently lift 50lbs and do 230 on the leg press. Do you think I could increase to lifting 150 lbs and doing 400 on the leg press in 8 months? Those are the max pounds...

Because mine look like they were took by Mary with the Shaky Hands (Who song reference), and I'm sick of it! I see y'all taking amazing looking, full-body, clear and focused progress photos. . . and I'd love tips for how to do this by myself (I don't typically have someone around to take photos...

Did your parents work out when you were a kid?

My parents were pretty old when they had me (41 and 40) and they have some very outdated ideas on fitness. My dad really does try, and he does yoga three times a week at a studio, but refuses to use free weights and prefers machines. I don't think my mom has worked out since before I was conceived...

Red face Is this glute machine any good?

I guess sometimes I get bored of doing the same exercises over and over again (glute bridges, hip thrusts, squats). Is this machine worth using it? And also, what about the hip abductor ones?

What's the difference between "toning up" versus "gain muscle"?

I'm familiar with the basics of bodybuilding, in that body recomposition is what causes someone to see a difference in their appearance (a decrease in body fat, an increase in body fat). I always thought this was called "gaining muscle". However, what does it mean when someone mentions that they...

Have you been able to correct duck feet?

I noticed when I was 21 (I'm now 23) that my feet turn outward slightly and this may effect how I perform certain exercises. For example, when I perform a glute kick back, my foot rotates outward and I believe this may compromise my workout results.

It's only within the past few months that I've become interested in supplements and I've picked up some whey protein isolate as well as some fish oil. Where does your foot hit the treadmill/the ground when jogging?

I am a forefoot runner (the ball of my foot hits the ground before the rest of my foot) but most people I see hit their heel to the floor first.

Hi all, I'm looking to gear up so I can take the nutrition aspect of my bodybuilding practice to its next level. After meeting with my (soon to be) new nutrition coaches, it became clear that I'll need to pick up three items for my road-warrior lifestyle: - A travel food scale (in grams) - A...
