Bodymedia frustration

I've had my bm for about 6 months. I'll be honest and say I've always been a tad skeptical of the readings but after reading so many posts on here about it's accuracy I finally decided to trust it and eat closer to the tdee reading in hopes of breaking a plateau. I just decided this, a week ago so...

Shoulder injury routine.

I need ideas for shoulders. I cannot do any movements with my arms away from sides of my body. Some overhead is ok. So no lateral or fly stuff. Trying to figure out how to do this and still get mass. So far I only have partial OHP on cables. Upright rows? Supposed to do shoulders tomorrow...

Talking THANK YOU, thank you , thank you

I just wanted to say thank you to the ladies who have been so helpful to me these last few weeks. I have learned more from you all in the last few weeks than I have in my entire life. Your advice has not gone unused. I ordered the books recommended, started eating a legitimate amount of...

So frustrated, need help!

I am really frustrated right now and could use some advice. I'm 27yo, 5'6" and 144lbs. I have always been naturally thin but have allowed my weight to creep up in the last few years. I have worked out here and there with my husband but got real serious about a month ago. I cut my carbs down and...

I'm collecting. . .

heights, weights and photos of BBs on this forum but I could use more stats for women. Any inputs on this are welcome. I don't want to mix these numbers with those for men because I'm sure almost all the heights and weights will be smaller but I'm not sure what will happen to the ratios of...

Question on lifting heavy to reduce cellulite.

I've searched and read every cellulite post I could find. :o I understand the best way to reduce the appearance of cellulite in your legs/butt region is to lift heavy. That I need to build a better muscle base underneath and reduce my overall fat. I have seen some positive results so far and I...

Any ideas for my mom?

My mom is 52 years old. She is actually not fat at all, but she got a pretty bad belly and a cholestrol of 230. She met a physiotherapist who made her do a number of exercises but in a week she quit because she started getting pain in the knee. I dont think i can make her run again because she is...

Question Metabolic reset?

Hey ladies, looking for a few opinions and hopefully a bit of advice from those who may have made the same mistake. Will keep the backstory short, but if you can imagine some tiny violins playing in the background that would be great. I've been on Weight Watchers for over 6 years, I didn't have...

Question Question about calorie requirements

So I'm reading through the thread about calorie/macro requirements, and I have a question. I'm figuring out my calculations for my calorie needs, but I'm confused about the activity factor. If I'm figuring activity level into my needs, should that be my calorie limit regardless of activity? Or...

Bulking.. measurements vs weight gain

Hey ladies! So I was/am underweight and have been bulking in order to gain both weight and muscle. I have successfully made it from 110- 114.8! I am working on getting to 120 and then maybe even 125lbs. Do you guys think 125 is a good weight for 20 years old and 5'6.5"? My main question was (...

Getting fusterated - any input?

So I started NWOLW (?) 4 weeks ago and feel like I'm pushing it every time. I'm doing it 2x a week due to my busy schedule. I also teach 4-5 cardio based classes each week. There is some lifting involved, but not super heavy weights. I do HIIT and tabata in my classes rather than steady state...

If you just gain muscle do you look bigger or smaller?

Okay so say (theortically) you weigh 150lbs, then manage to gain 10lbs of pure muscle and no fat - so now you weigh 160lbs- Do you look bigger or smaller? When you gain muscle do your muscles increase in size so that overall you look bigger overall, or do you muscles become denser too? Just...

Question Sleep

I keep reading on the all knowing interwebz that sleep is very important when it comes to fitness. Seems legit, but sleep is not something I get much of (new baby). I have gained a lot of muscle in my thigh and butt area in the past year. It looks great, but I haven't been able to find any jeans that fit an athletic body well. Every single pair of jeans that fit my waist perfectly (size 0 or 24) can't make it past my thighs or butt or are just too...
