Help with legs spreading too far on cleans

Hey everyone, When I do the little jump during a clean my feet go out farther than shoulder width apart. I find that instead of squatting under the bar to catch it I do a semi squat and spread my legs. Any advice on how I should go about fixing this? Thanks, Seb

When you catch a clean, should your thumb
