fats on nutrition labels

can anyone explain why on nutrition labels, fats in grams never add up to total amount of fats listed? example fats-16g saturated-2.5g poly-1.5g mono-8.0g trans-0... where are the other 4g coming from??

Cut or bulk?

Hi, I am new to lifting weights and am not sure if I should be bulking or cutting. I am looking for muscle gains but I'm not sure if it would be wise to do a cycle of cutting before I start bulking. I am currently 5' 5" and weigh 115 pounds. Lifting 4 times a week along with 30 minutes of cardio...

What's the best way to work around a cheat meal?

So I'm going to a birthday party for a friend tomorrow, lots of bbq, pork, ribs, cake, ect, and I don't want to be the A-hole who refuses all the food that people made for the party. I usually have a cheat meal once a month where it's something that I can track macros with or has a food label, and...

Losing fat, do I have to meet protein Macro if I'm not hungry?

I'm 160 lbs, trying to go down to 145-150lbs. I try to take in at least 120-130g of protein a day. Today I had about 110g. I'm not really hungry and my main goal is to cut fat so do I have to eat that extra 10 or 20 grams of protein? I have some muscle but not much, so would it even matter if...

Smile When does new day of calories start?

Should you reset your calories back to 0 for the new day at midnight or just when you wake up? Can you eat after midnight as long as it is in your macros? Or will that after midnight food be counted towards your next day?

Some questions on my current nutrition

Hi everyone. I got my blood tested a while ago that I have more oil thing (or fat thing if u call it that way) than I should in my body. Doc told me to start exercising and eat less oily stuff. That's when I started changing my lifestyle. So I told myself, since I changed my lifestyle, have time...

Red face Meal replacement: shakeology vs ideal shake

Has anyone tried either of these shakes? Id never heard of ideal shake until I started trying to research shakeology. I'm hitting a plateau in my training and want to switch up diet some, and figured a meal replacement after my morning cardio may be the way to go. Thanks for any input!

Overthinking about macronutrients

Is a 33/33/33 split between macros ok? I'm losing weight atm. I've averaged this over the week. It varies day to day but this is the average over my first week. If it stops working and I stop losing weight will I have to change this?

Calories in chicken and steak

Hi all, I have started watching my calorie intake very closely and I have a few questions that I would finally like clarity on, which I'm sure someone here can help. At the moment, my primary sources of protein are whey, eggs, ground beef, tuna, chicken and steak. For whey, eggs, ground beef,...

Soy

Soy is in almost all sport related supplements for it's protein, but it is a very controversial ingredient that is rumored to have many negative effects on men because of its estrogen traits. What are your guys's thoughts on it? Just curious! Thanks!

Question Can't I just train and eat?

I see all these people on here tracking every little thing they eat and putting it into macrolators (calculator for macros). I'm not talking to competing people here since its theyre job to stay lean but us non-competitors, why do we adapt the typical bodybuilder lifestyle? Like I am 16 years old,...

Macro trouble

Alright so today I wasn't too keen on paying close attention to the foods I was eating so I ate relatively healthy still but didn't really come close to any of my macros. I know this is probably stupid but one day of not coming close to my macros won't really hurt me right? If I just make sure to...

Help With Protein for Hot Weather

I have a job that requires me to be outside, away from A/C, a refrigerator, and work through heat and 50%+ humidity.
