Question vitamins and omegas 3 6 9 ... important for weight gain why?

Don't get me wrong I take a multi vitamin 3 times a day (optimen) and I take the Omega 3 6 9 pill 3 times a day as well but I've only done this because people say so. I'm here now because I want to know why/how it helps.
