Sticky Thread Sticky: American Ninja Warrior

Got cleared for "social media" by American Ninja Warrior. I'm competing in the (once secret) Military Episode in June (in California). I'm going to kick arse and try to win the 1 million dollar prize money for Shriners Hospital. I'm also raising money for them (not for me) so no matter...

Shoulder warm ups before squats.

What do you guys do to warm your shoulders up before you squat? It takes me forever to get under the bar before I squat. I do static stretching trying to get them loosened up, but I was wondering what some of the old pros here do. Thanks.

Squats without a mirror

Anybody have problems with squatting without a mirror? There is this one rack at the gym that a column blocks most of the mirror and every time I squat there, it seems my form is a little unstable and I have more balancing problems. It's like I lose a bit of my equilibrium.

Thumbless Grip on Bench Press...Suicide Grip

I witnessed first hand this morning how dangerous this grip can be. Watched a buddy drop 225lbs on himself this morning!! It was freaking scary! 225lbs is no where near his max either (spotted him doing 315lbs) but he lost focus for a second and he lost it. He seems to be ok, though i'm hoping...

Does anyone here NOT use protein powder?

I always hear about how protein is what muscles are made of and that we should go big on it, but I've talked to people who are way bigger than me (one being a doctor) and don't use powder. I have experimented with it but didn't notice any gains in my lifting performance during that time. But...

So I've never tried preworkout prior to well, working out. I mean, when I was a kid, I'd chug ripped fuel before a hockey game, but I was 17 or so and didn't know better. I was at Vitaminn Shoppe and they had sample packets of FinaFlex Stimul8....drank a whole packet before hitting the basement...
