This is going to be heaven. I really want to attend. Mainly for the ingredient discussion, though.
I think we should also discuss:
supplements of the future/where the supplement industry is going to be in 10-20 years.
-will we be seeing our ingredients as pharmacological agents or will we still have the freedom? (things like cissus rx and anabolic-pump are potentials for pharmaceuticals).
-will different delivery systems be allowed for supplements in the future?

Nearly out. I do not want to talk about any MAN or Thermolife products in this chat. I do not pimp and I want to guru and I don't want to pimp or cause conflict regarding thermo either. Just intelligent talk and learning how to break formulations or compounds down. Hopefully I can illustrate study techniques too.

Interesting. I'd like to do that. But that is a whole other topic requiring just as much time. Maybe in round 2. I'd love to discuss future delivery methods. Hopefully, we can do another go-round. We can set this as discussion topic two, more the philosophical and bigger picture stuff.
I'd like to actually breakdown some real products in terms of formulations and how well they are put together. Please add some of those here. Again, no MAN or Thermolife.

Fast twitch is a great product overall, I'd tweak a few things, but that would be a good one to discuss. That's exactly what I'd like to see brought up. Products that are everywhere...some that aren't being used, but should and some that many use that shouldn't. Continue...

and its products, they all are loaded up, no one knows much about them and my thing is I want to show people how to be more critical and research their products. Not for me to tell you really what is good and bad (I can do that with my opinion), but I'd rather teach you how to do this for yourself. How to demand better profiles at correct doses, based on factual science and put aside the marketing and hype claims and photos.
I've thought about maybe doing an online class actually. With discussion of study design, biochemistry, labwork, organic chemistry, pharmacology, raw materials purchasing, product testing, marketing techniques with demographics and target markets, etc. Maybe those that attended and passed tests could be certified supplement gurus. Just a thought. I'd like to see everyone on these boards know more for themselves and push this industry in a better direction and save it from itself. Supporting good business practices and abandoning poor ones. That would take a lot of effort on my end and much time. Not free time. If there was a great deal of interest at some point I may consider doing that.

I would like to hear the opinion of Andro about a few AI's like 6-Bromo, 3-OHT, ATD and 6-OXO. Specially about their values for Non hormonal stack, PCT(with SERM) and their respective safety.
Androgenic
12-17-2006, 08:06 AM
I can save you time on that one. 6-oxo PCT or standalone. Formestane On-cycle, PCT, standalone.
I do not like the others for various reasons, some of which are counterproductivity or safety concerns. The others may work and do so well, in the short term...but that would not make choose them. Sometimes one step further is not better. 6-oxo vs. ATD. DHEA vs. 4-AD. 1-AD vs. 1-Test. In some ways the latter is more potent, but less safe and with more side effects and even ultimately less efficacious over time. PA was smart in this way.

There are so many things being brought up I myself am having a hard time deciding where to put my focus and if it going to be helpful in terms of discussion to you guys (and possibly myself...I continue to learn too) then it will need to be focused. What did anyone think about the idea I brought up on pg.2:
I've thought about maybe doing an online class actually. With discussion of study design, biochemistry, labwork, organic chemistry, pharmacology, raw materials purchasing, product testing, marketing techniques with demographics and target markets, etc. Maybe those that attended and passed tests could be certified supplement gurus. This type of thing would have a natural arc or predictable path of topics and would be cumulative in a way that would really build expertise in those that kept with it.
I'd really love to go over study design, because so many people here just quote the results or summary of a study and don't look at the design, the funding source, the statistical analysis, etc. that show whether the study is even credible or the results are reliable statistically.

EDIT: I especially liked the part on the multis. The thing with Andro is that he kind of reminds me of one of those sentient "talking" computers and it's a challenge not to pester him with every little thing like "what do you think of my stack/what should I eliminate/what's good", "should I toss my samples from BEAST Nutrition", "can I stack E-Bol and Dicana with that" and "just how important is Micronized Sand FTW!!!!! as a supplement in the general scheme of things?"

3. Presently a Chief Clinical Dietitian managing over 20 people
4. Chief Scientific Officer for MAN (MAN sports) and writing articles, working on the magazine and formulations...with many not released compounds in the industry under my belt...coming. (Actually I have 30-40 in front of me...know one has ever heard of).
5. I helped put together an interactive CD-rom for med-students, used at every med school in the country. They are interactive CD-roms in the Nutrition In Medicine project at Chapel Hill. The one I did was on Dietary Supplements.
6. I have been offered jobs in Private Industry with Life Extension Foundation and get offered Chief Clinical
Dietitian/Clinical Nutrition Manager positions all over the country.
7. I have worked in the ICU working on tube feedings and IV feeding (parenteral) with those in critical care working with Chiefs of Staff's.
I say all this not to brag. Not to have you read this for any accolade. But to have you know when I get an email that says...Androgenic (not my name), Thermolife (wrong) Rep (wrong) and with no credentials. Well, it is kind of messed up.
At this point...Thermolife, may have exclusivity to me. Call me what you want, but my experience has been nothing but positive with thermolife and Inner Circle...less than positive. Maybe that's not the circle for me.

I am editing the log, to cut out some of the extaneous stuff, highlight my comments and make a Director's cut for better readability.
By the way, I just got an email from Mind and Muscle there is a Chat for Inner Circle...featuring "Thermolife's Rep...Androgenic" and that he is a "knowledgeable rep". I am not an arrogant guy, but this felt like a pretty good smack in the face for who I am and what I have accompished.

I guarantee all of the thermochatters will welcome you at anytime. After the chat the other night, I am seriously interested in the online class you were talking about should you ever decide to seriously put one together. Very informative, and I appreciated the fact that you presented the knowledge without being condescending to the people that don't have your credentials.

That's great. You know once you get those bachelor's, a good career path would be a 4 yr. doctorate of pharmacy. There is so much you can do with pharmacology/pharmacy and they come out making six figures and your given jobs before you graduate. You may want to look into taking the PCAT. Good background though.

Ummmmm.... YES WE WANT THAT!

Again, I am never one to brag (except when I am being funny about something). I am humble and humorous and truly enjoy helping and teaching. I do upward basketball with 7th and 8th grade boys for that reason...free. I love it. I love watching them start to believe in themselves, empower themselves and their self-esteem rise and their parents look at them with pride. That is a feeling that is amazing and better than any materialistic garbage put before me. I was frustrated by that email and when I compare the interactions with that scenario vs. how positive the thermochat was and again knowing that people were thankful for what I gave to them...I think I'll pursue the latter. It was hurtful to me and with my schedule being filled every minute of the day...that's not something I look at really wanting to pursue.

I wish you would reconsider and maybe speak with Tkardde about this?

I just PMed Shawn to fill him in on why I was as distracted as I was. While I prefer that reason remain private, I am hopeful that he will take it in earnest as it was meant.
While I am posting this, I wish to issue a formal apology to Androgenic regarding this egregious oversight. I accept full responsibility, and can only reiterate that this error was the product of unusual circumstances.

Ness, I just found out my coaching schedule for Upward Basketball (coaching 7th and 8th grade boys @ church). Our first practice and every week thereafter is 8pm on Monday night (that night). The chat night can either be changed to Tuesday or I would prefer to just do it at 9:30 (9:40 absolute latest). Most people were still on with me last time at 11pm and wanted me to stay, numbers peaked by 10pm anyway...so I don't think its much of an issue If I start later.
What would be neat is if the "class" discusses the homework and some of the points to each other so that everyone is filled in, those that were there last time and not there. It'd make the time used at 9:30-11 much better.
