OMFG 14 lbs!....well most of it should be water weight bud, so if you keep your carbs low and do some high intensity cardio....i think you can be at 204 in a week or so......on a side note you must have ate/drank a lot man! :D, surely you had a great time ;)

Dude you shoulda seen me...i was on form man. First night drank a fifth of glenlivet after having several beers then smoked.

Second night drank an ungodly amount of wine/liquor. Went blacky both nights :D

Ate like an animal too.

lol sounds like a good time man, my weekend looked much the same (well, none of that fancy glenlivet :() and I ate pizza, but close enoug! Fatasses FTW! :p

225x8--Trying to work on form after my buddy Bo said i was getting to far forward on my squats. Got the bar lower on my neck/back and it helped. Felt strange though so I'm gonna have to work on this.

Okay...decent workout. After Bo jumped on me for my form, i spent a good 15 minutes working on it with 225 and lower weight. After all this i squeezed out some front squats lol...then was stupid for doing sldl's lol. But everything went well overall.

Damn, a great workout. All my chest moves felt very good. Will move up in Bench press next week, as i'm going for 3 sets of 3 reps. Only reason i went 2 that first set was cause i didnt ask for a spotter and got shaky on my second rep. Wasnt risking a dumb move lol, but def. had it in there. Incline db's were awesome. Had a rediculous pump after the straight set on HS incline.

Anyways...gotta get ahold of this diet thing. Being out of town kills me...

Disclaimer: First of all i have vids, lots of them. I made a huge mistake though..lol..2 hours before i lifted, my GF came over. I dont get to see her but twice a week at the most, and damned if i wasnt going to get my fux on. I knew it was a stupid idea, but come on. Okay vids will be coming..i've got them for deads and rows. I'm not happy with anything in this workout to TBH. Rows i was too verticle, but rom was very good. I just had no go for my deads, weak. I was supposed to go for 525(15lb PR) but had no chance after the way 455 felt, so tried 515 which i knew i wasnt going to get. Pretty pathetic to think that, but **** i just didnt have it. Was going to strip and go for 5 plates to redeem myself, but just didnt have it in me mentally.

good lift man. one thing, be careful during the lift since your arms bend a bit instead of being totally straight. ive seen torn biceps from that before, just a note of caution

Yeah i've seen a couple nasty vids of bicep tears while DLing...but didnt know that was the cause...makes sense though..

That's naturally how they hang...should i try to straighten them?? lol

im not really an expert on it, but mine are completely straight like a rope. realistically, they should be totally straight sort of like cables holding the bar, not using them to pull the bar up which is where the bicep tears come into play. most likely nothing will happen, just pointing itout,

You know what...my right arm isint able to fully lock out correctly. I've never noticed this before..strange..that my friend is as straight as it gets..

I mean think about it...do you think i can hold 405+ lbs with bent arms?? That's as good as it gets for me lol

Yeah i learned my lesson lol..

The form on 405 was just about how i want it all the time. 455 sucked lol. I knew i was going to miss my 1RM lift after my form broke on 455. You can just feel it.

Anyways i'll retest max in about a month...but i'll get a 495 pull on vid for yall at least next week.

Overtraining is a CNS thing. Periodic deloads are a great idea to combat this. Id recommend deloading (1 or two weeks depending on how long youve been training all out, continuously) right now instead of taking time off.

Squats FTW! :D So i'm still tryin to get the hang of the low bar placement on my back. I've gotten to where i can get it in the groove, and feel damn strong from this position, but hell I'm still getting forward on my squats. I dont get it! Anywho, i felt very strong tonight on all movements, and my weight is back down to 205 baby! Threw some lunges in the mix just to solidify the squatting. The leg curls were very strong tonight...i've made considerable progress on this move. Anywho...holla! :)

Front squats ftw! Absolutely murders my quads like no other exercise. Yeah it's more difficult to balance imo. But like anything, once you get the hang of it its like riding a bike. I've only front squatted 4 times in my life, and am already repping 275 when fresh prolly.

I love the move though, it feels so fluid, and right. If you know what i mean...unlike back squats, i have to really watch myself or my form goes to ****.

So..I'm putting together some form of a Push/Pull/Upper/Lower Variant with specific exercises...so i can track progress and most importantly...make progress.

NEW ROUTINE/SPLIT: ORGANIZATION=STRENGTH/GROWTH FTW

Split 1-->Shoulder's/Tri's
Clean & Press
BB Shrugs
DB Side Laterals
CGBP
DB OH Extension

Split 2-->Legs
Squats
Lunges
Hammy Curl
Calf Work

Split 3-->Chest/Bi's
Flat BB Bench Press (BB Incline)
DB Flys
Weighted Dip
BB Curls

Split 4-->Back
Pull Ups
Deadlifts
BB Rows
Hypers
Face Pulls

Grip work/Forearm work will be done on an off day each week.


So, this is the new split. These exercises will stay this way until I stall in either growth or strength. I've pretty much just built this routine around the big 4 exercises. I'm really looking forward to clean and pressing, as this has been on my mind for a long time. I'll be rotating Flat bench with Incline every month or so, but i'm going to actually be doing both each workout. I'm going to basically do one all out..then do the other after with a couple burn type sets.

The Big 4 WILL BE 5x5; All other work will be 3x8 I'll be keeping the same weight for my working sets too, so i'll be able to track weight progression easily. There will also be one-two warm up sets.

ALL PR'S ARE RESET

I'll test maxes on each of the Big 4 moves during the last week of every month.

Deciding on when to start....might as well be tomorrow ;)

Yep still cutting, but not doing a very good job lol...been stuck at 207 now for about a week. WOrks been busy so it's tough to eat right, but i'm hanging in there. Awesome you've gained strength while cutting...what's your secret?? ;)

So i'm officially stoked for this new routine. I finished all my lifting in 45 Minutes! wOOt! I was very conservative today on the weight because i want to get all my reps, and have room to improve quickly. This way mentally and physically i'll feel strong for weight increments for awhile. Clean & Press is such a fcuking incredible move. My presses are very strict. I'll get some vids up next session. I made all reps except failed on my last rep of OH extensions lol. Will prolly stick with this weight next session just to solidify the move. Awesome workout, and damn its nice to be organized. Hey, look at all those PR's!!!!!!! LOL!

I know i'm gonna see gains. This is a totally new approach for me, and i already love it. LOL, it'll be a long while till ya catch me on squats. I have no clue what i can parallel squat. Every squat i've ever posted in this journal has been ATG. I guarantee you i could nail mid 4's parallel.(no brag) :D

Edit: I do see how fast you're gaining though. And it's really going to take off. I admit, i'm a lil scared :p Psyc! :D

There's not many things you can do bad if it's a strict press. Just make sure you're not leaning heavily backwards, you have your glutes and core tensed during the whole time, the barbell is raise so it places above the middle of your head and not in FRONT of your head and that's about it.

I like to keep a narrow grip with my elbows in for them, that's a popular tricep technique. Not many go really wide with elbows flaring out through-out the whole motion.

No idea, I usually do high reps on them 8-10.

I did a 100kg[220lb] clean and strict press 2 weeks ago. I am doing 5x5 on them now [which you read in my announcement] because I want to work on them as my #1 pressing motion. I have small shoulder tendons, it doesn't help. Plus genetically small triceps. :(

220 strict press is very impressive. I reckon 2 plates is a semi-long term goal for me to hit.

Push presses are awesome for overloading the shoulder girdle. Everything about them is awesome imo.

Pretty standard for the most part. 365 is fairly conservative, so ROM is very big. I always just try to touch my shoulders to my ears. Ensures me i'm going on the right path and keeps my ROM from shortening.

(HIIT was in 5.5/10.0 intervals every 30 seconds.) I did them in 5 minute intervals with walking. So 3 HIIT's and 3 LI's.


So this is what my forearm/grip training sessions are going to look like. I'm going to start specifically timing my hangs so i can keep closer track. Gotta pick up a small place clock. I want to get to 3 minutes plus per hang. Static holds are getting stronger every session. Cardio was a beast tonight...really went at it hard.

Shoot yeah man, forearm strength carries over to many of the big lifts. Plus big forearms give a hell of an appearance.

Hmm, well if you gunning for quad hypertrophy go front squats. If you want to compete with atlas stones, go zerchers and if you want a standard all 'round approach go backs. :D

Go the zerchers, you know they are the most hardcore. :p

Great session!! Legs were murdered. 25 reps of 215 on fronts. Got vids of fronts and lunges. Hamstring curls are really coming along. Im really starting to have knee discomfort, and it takes a long time to get warmed up. Not really liking this. But once i'm warmed up i'm good to go.

The whole idea of my new routine is to stop my overtraining. I tend to do too many exercises for a given muscle group. KISS FTW! (Keep it simple stupid for those slow individuals :D)

So i think this selection for legs is perfect....Hits everything thourghly.

thats why i do two versions of each workout day in my split. aka chest/tri strength, then chest/tri hypertrophy etc.....

allows you to incorporate all kinds of exercises which all work together for a perfectly balanced physique.

ive heard that from d1 as well. sldl also hammers the low back, erectors and traps which is crucial. if you give me a choice to use sldl or leg curls no way i pick leg curls. no reason you cant do both like me...:)

Yup. They are nasty. The thing is, i've got the big 4 in my routine. That's enough to work on strength right now. Ham curls are better than SLDL for hammy development. It's just the fact. I like SLDL's but i've got deads in there so it's not like a losing situation. My routine was set up to go along with my cut too...(higher reps). I will gain strength on this routine, no doubt about that.

Oh, weighed in at 202 this morning :eek: Bout to drop below 200 lol

Yeah, but i've got exercises hitting all those areas. Like i've already said, trying to tone down the hard hitting exercises. I've been overtrained for a long time i believe. 1 deadlifting session a week is all i can handle right now.

So i hit all my numbers. I actually only got 7 reps on my last set of dips, but did 2 more a couple seconds later lol. 210 on BP was pretty easy, so have a decent amount of room to increase. Last set was just as strong as the first. Cut is coming along wonderfully. Should drop below 200 in the next couple days. My strength is holding well too.

Thanks bud! Yeah that's exactly where i was going with that. I wanna make solid progress for awhile...adding poundage every week. I should be able to do that with each of the big 4 for a month or so.

Das right!! I'll be below 200 by Thursday most likely. Scaling back the cals a little bit more. Got some Nasty HIIT planned tonight.

LOL....Hit cardio hard (HIIT) if you want that ass to go down some...but it's prolly genetic and you'll always have teh nice plump one (I love it :D)

So i hit all my numbers. I actually only got 7 reps on my last set of dips, but did 2 more a couple seconds later lol. 210 on BP was pretty easy, so have a decent amount of room to increase. Last set was just as strong as the first. Cut is coming along wonderfully. Should drop below 200 in the next couple days. My strength is holding well too.

Oh it was good! lol..i eat at least 6 whole eggs a day. Love em! You cant eat eggs??? I thought u were bulking! I think eggs might be the most anabolic food out there.
