Monday

Here was today's routine:

Machine Squat : 6 x 4. I was able to increase weight.

Superset 1: 4 x 5
Incline Bench
Pulldowns

Superset 2: 4 x 5
Romanian DL's
DB Shrugs

I was short on time, so for the supersets instead of doing 5 sets of 4, I did 4 sets of 5 with the same weight. So mathamatically, it came out even :)

Oh, I'm here....just been busy.

For starters, I had 2 days off this week, Tuesday and Yesterday. And on those days off I was running around pretty much. Wednesday things were pretty busy here at work, and I now find out that we may have to work some over the weekend to fix some of the stuff our offshore team has broken :(

Unfortunately the workouts have become non-existent this week. And the diet has suffered, too. And that's my fault. Well, there is always next week :)

The sad part is I basically volunteered for it. Three of my co-workers were going to have to, and I basically stepped in and said if they have to, then so do I. I figure if I can help get them out of here any earlier, then why not. I was basically exempt because another project I am on is still going on. But I let them know that I was basically completed with my end of that project.

I have not worked on a single weekend day in since the mid-90's. Before then, I couldn't get them off. I love having the weekends to Rick and myself :D

Oh, not really beating myself up...things happen sometimes. I'm a programmer, so sometimes things come up that cannot wait until Monday. The thing that sucks is that we are being asked to fix things that we didn't break in the first place :(

Well, I can't say this happens often at all. Actually, the offshore team has done great at getting the things fixed. It's just the leaders who are having a fit.

Howdy, Josie. It's weird...the offshore team actually did a pretty good job of clearing things up. It was more of a case of management freaking out and basically over-managing.

Well, I had all the intentions in the world to get up and do some cardio today...but HoosierGirl had other ideas. About the time I was ready to get up and go out, she wakes up screaming for me. Oh well, such is life. I was able to get a long walk in today in the middle of the afternoon, but it isn't as good as the intervals I prefer to do.

Another No W/O

This is getting old. Another night of short sleep and not able to get up early to W/O. With all the dry weather, once I do wake up, my allergies are so haywire that getting up is a workout in itself. The girl got up about 4:45. That actually isn't too bad, but since I didn't get into bed until midnight, that made for another really short night.

At this point, my milestone dates are out the window. The best thing I can do now is to really mind my diet and get the workouts in when I can.

Well, I hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend! I hadn't journaled in a few days...I just wanted to take a small break.

I was able to get a cardio session in over the weekend, on Sunday. And this morning, the little one slept well enough for me to get in a weight routine. Plus my allergies are calming down a bit, and that helps:

Everything was 3 x 5:

Machine Squat
Incline Bench
Pulldown
DB Shrug
Romanian Deadlifts.

Since it had been 3 weeks since I did any weights, I am sure the DOMS fairy will be paying me a visit tomorrow. Hope you all have a great day back to work.

It's a shame you have to deal with the allergies, Hoos. I sneeze some on certain times of the year, but certainly not enough to warrant having to get shots for it.

Is there a chance they'll ever go away for good?

Oh no. They are here to stay. My system is just made to develop allergies. I could move to the dessert and still become allergic to something, just the way it goes.

Hey Penney. Actually, I grew up a Bengal fan and was cheering all the way for their two Super Bowl appearances. It actually is a struggle for me when the Bengals and Colts play, because I really can't root against either. But, my fandom really swayed since the mid 90's, when the Bengals really became not only a bad team, but a true farce of a franchise under Mike Brown. He still holds them back with his medling. But, a Bengals trip to the Super Bowl would make me very happy..

You can send me little girl Hoos anytime! I went shopping with my sisters and there babies the other day and when the sales person asked who I was they both answered I was the nanny!!!!! Hey Bunny! Hope you had a hopping good weekend!

Well as usual, the weekend was busy busy. The boys both had their first soccer practice Friday evening, followed by their first games on Saturday. Yeah, that's weird but it's they way they do it. The younger boy got hit pretty hard twice during practice with the ball. Saturday he started out as golie, and I guess whenever a ball was kicked at him, he ducked. The poor lad. I told him daddy would work with him to get used to the ball coming at him. I think he just likes kicking it :)

My cardio continues to be practicing soccer with the boys, and also playing tag with all three of them. It's pretty much a win win. I get my exercise in, and I get to hang out with the little ones. Can't complain about that!

We all hate Mike Brown. Bad franchises are epidemic in Cincinnati :(

I remember when the Colts were in Baltimore. It's awesome that the franchise has flourished in Indy :)

The 90's was one long, hellish embarrassment for the Bengals. I hope it never happens again. I sure hope they win tonight!

I don't follow sports anymore like I did in my younger days. Big money, bad management and drugs has really ruined professional sports IMO :(

LOL I picked up Oliver at daycare on Monday and when as soon as we were in the car I called my sister and asked her why did she dress up her son with capris, running shoes and socks? She told me his jeans weren't capris they just hadn't had time to go shopping for fall clothes yet :eek:

Hope everyone had a great and fabulous weekend! Early morning cardio was on the plate for today. Instead of the gym, I just walked/ran/jogged around the neighborhood. You know, doing my part to conserve gas :)

The closest gym to me would be about 20 minutes, obviously too far away. The company I work for is big enough and there would probably be enough room in the building to have a workout facility. But, well, you know...

Haven't used an alarm clock in years myself. Has become an internal one I guess. I'm planning a bike ride once my boys are off to school which is by 8:30 am.

I put my boys on the bus then I head on to work. Any more I get in bed around 11:30 or midnight. Factor in getting up at least once, and 5:00 comes quick.

It?s tough to get your WOs in. I used to get up at 4:30am to go to the gym not fun, but my membership ran out and We plan on getting some exercise equipment in the basement. The only reason I get my weights in now is because where I take my son to Judo there is a little gym, so I can WO while he does his thing. I feel for you. :(

Yeah, well, ya know...I figure if I ignore myself, I won't offend anyone :)

Actually, there just hasn't been anything to report. Workouts have been non-existent lately. I'm trying to get my diet back on track, and am finally having some luck with it.

Hopefully starting next week things will be slowing down and I can get back into the workotus.

Well, it was a long time coming, but I finally made it back into the gym this morning. I decided to keep it simple, and I kept everything in the 8-10 rep range. I did pushing movements this morning, and will try and get in and do pulling tomorrow.

Military Press
Leg Press
Shrug

I fully expect a visit from the DOMS fairy tomorrow :)
