To be honest,A cheat for me is one slice of strawberry pie with whipped cream or two small brownies. Sometimes I finish it and sometimes I don`t. I have never binged. It is like a switch goes off in my stomach and I suddenly do not desire the food anymore and I quit eating because I really don`t want it.
okay, I tend to not really do cheat days anymore... BUT... my sis just got back from europe with TONES of different kinds of europian chocolate.... so I of course had to try all of them! OMG sooooo good, let me see if I can remember what all I had..
caramel chocolate
plain milk chocolate
coconuty white chocolate
plain white chocolate
strawberry filled truffles
hazelnut filled chocolate
some kinda soft cake thing coated with white chocolate
some kinda rice crisp thing coted with milk chocolate
hmm.. that's all I can recall right now...
+ 2 pieces of homemade pizza(very yummy!)

well, i really dont cheat too much.. i am pretty good though, my biggest problem is im addicted to buffalo wings.. i eat them every now and again. but they are so gooooooooooood.
i also have a sweet tooth for dark chocolate.. omg.. i could eat a whole big bar by myself...

My downfall are caramel lattes & other sweetened coffee products... and friends who invite me out to dinner. I live in Tokyo and drinking is a big part of the social fabric here. That plus fancy dinners.

choc chip biscuits & cashew nuts. I have no sweet tooth, there are no such foods like sugar, honey, jam etc in my house, but I just love dark plain bitter chocolate. I know if I buy a bar I won't calm down untill it's there in the cupboard! Gotta eat it all the same day! So I better don't buy it at all.

I'm pretty restrained as far as cheating, but tonight I had a margarita to celebrate a birthday and I'll probably have some type of dessert tomorrow.
If I ate 3 candy bars and cake I'd quite literally go into a coma :p

Well, I used to be a binge eater. Most of you would be truly grossed out by how much (and what) I would eat on one of my emotional eating binges.
These days a cheat is a planned meal indulgence, once a week. Usually at a restaurant. Recently I had enchiladas with the best mole sauce I've ever tasted, and tamales with plantain in pipian rojo (pumpkin seed and ancho chile sauce). Paired with a pumpkin ale. For dessert, which I had planned on skipping 'till I heard the specials, I had lavendar honey ice cream. (wow!)
I did go overboard on my birthday when I went to the state fair, and had junk food all day: tamales, grilled alligator (prolly OK, on it's own, but combined with the rest - too much), two state fair corn dogs, nachos, half a turkey leg and about 8 pieces of saltwater taffey.

I used to binge a lot and sometimes it was disgusting how much junk I can consume in a 4 hour period! It was like ... 1 bag honey mustard pretzels, 1 extra large cookie dough blizzrd, 4 chocolate bars, 6 chocolate chip cookies. 1 full bowl of doritos, plate of poutine, gummy bears(1 package), 1 thing of popcorn and much more that I cant remember but all that made me sick. Binges prevent you from enjoying the food. I believe in a cheat day once a week but still, moderation is key. Just have little tastes of things you like:)

last cheat meal i had was a week ago, i had 2 Tapioca puddings, each with 90 cals, to make it a total of 180cals.
My 2 favorite foods though are Pizza and Cookies, i havent eaten ice cream since this summer which before the summer i didnt eat ice cream for a good 8-12 months.
Out here in NYC you got the best pizzas so naturally its awesome, i hate that generic crap though like pizza hut and papa johns and domino's, theres alot of good places to eat some pizza out here like Lombardi's, Johns on bleekers, but i usually go to Brothers Pizza they use very very little dough, some olive oil, tomato sauce and mozzorolla cheese, its awesome, But the cookies i make are just heavenly, Nestle Tallhouse of course, i bake them in the oven and eat 1 or 2 which are very very strong since there soo warm, after letting them cool off for like an hour or so they become nice and krispy.
Oh and BTW check out my Junkfood thread for some Pics on basically Junkfood http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=794374

ah, I got spoiled on good pizza when I was in Europe... now anything that's not thin-crust, baked in a real wood-fired oven just doesn't taste right...

All last month was kind of a cheat month. I moved and had McDonald's at least once a day.
I had a couple spoonfuls of ice cream last weekend, because it was a friend's birthday. I usually try to stay with my diet though.

So you are bragging about how much crap you eat? I thought you were supposed to not eat sugar and fat.
empresscat
11-11-2006, 04:33 PM
It's not bragging - it's more like confessing. And it's helpful to know you aren't the only person who goes overboard sometimes.
These are cheats... having them once every week or two is not a bad thing, and can help many people maintain their willpower the rest of the time.
Cheat meals should be planned, and should not be overboard... but sometimes we lose willpower and binge. It's important not to beat yourself up over it, (many people feel they've "blown it" and give up after a binge) - but to just go back to eating healthy afterward.
In fact, some diets insist on them, as a means of "revving up" the metabolism and preventing stagnation from low caloric intake. (Another approach is a "refeed" - a higher-carb/higher-calorie meal or day that is still clean.)
And you *are* supposed to eat fat, just not trans-fats, or processed fats, and in proper proportion to the rest of your diet.
On fact, there's even a place for sugar (the right kind - dextrose or maltodextrin) in a healthy bodybuilding diet: in the post-workout meal. In fact, it's highly recommended.

I cheated today I admit: 50g of whiskey + 40g of single cream... I'm sooo drunk now (I usually don't drink at all! two cans of beer and I have hang-over the next day).

Six Heinekins, a chicken quesodila (screw my spelling), cheese dip poured over previous item, a couple bowls of cereal. And a few hours before half a pound cake, cranberry sauce, two helping of mashed potatoes, dressing.
And I'm still losing weight :)

well, my cheat this weekend was too big. I had Chili's southwestern egg rolls and fajitas with my boyfriend. Then we had a Cold Stone birthday cake remix mix in ice cream. That was to die for I have to admit.
hmmm... this's kinda interesting, I don't think any cheats in here are as big as mine used to be :( And I wondered why I wasn't loosing weight back then, LOL.

Horrorable horrorable horrorable weekend. I should lock myself in my room for a month. I have been doing so well for the last 3 weeks. No cheats, no skipping the gym.....but then this weekend went to hell. No not just a cheat day....a whole cheat weekend. AAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWW
Friday I went to dinner and ate filet and lobster tail and had many Margaritas. Then Saturday I skipped the gym and for dinner had nothing but more and more Margaritas and then went bowling at 1 am and ate buffalo wings and more alcohol. Then got up Sunday and went to the Titans football game and started tailgating at 10am and eating steak and chips and chocolate and more alcohol.
I ate more food this weekend and drank more alcohol this weekend then I have in a month. The first thing I did this morning was woke up, ran a mile and ate some egg whites and oatmeal. Boy am I going to punish myself tonight at the gym.

Ah, huh huh *cough I, uh, put most of your guys' binging to shame. I'm not bragging, but I will say I'm rather too embarrassed to even start to say how much I can eat. Let's just say I can down at least 5,000 calories a day like it's nothing to the point I'm beyond sick. *cough...I feel so ashamed. :(

I've never been a binge eater; my problem is the little things every day. My Mom was big on "clean your plate and you'll get dessert," so I'm really hard-wired to want something sweet after a meal. Growing up, a school brownbag lunch always included a snack cake or a few cookies for dessert. Then there was dessert after dinner, too.
I've really cut WAY back on my sugar intake, but I crave something sweet - especially chocolate - as my snack before bedtime. I don't eat much, but I can't seem to break my daily treat habit.

Well, as I said, I wasn't even going to consider posting a serious binge. You and I are no doubt in the same boat... but since you bring it up - a serious emotional binge-eating day might go like this (this is based on my worst binge-phase, when my mom was in the hospital):
On my way to work: a breakfast burrito and a bagel from Chick-fil-a (each with eggs, cheese, and fried chicken)
Shortly after getting to work, eat my "snack" which was meant for later in the day - usually a piece of fruit and some soy chips or cottage cheese...
A couple of hours later, down to the cafeteria for a turkey melt sub with bacon, avocado and cheese - and a side of chips.
Afternoon - three cookies and milk
Before leaving work - more cottage cheese and fruit
On the way to the hospital to visit mom: Arby's ginormous roast beef sandwich with cheese sauce and fried jalepenos with sweet dipping sauce and fried potato things
After the hospital, on the way home: sonic double jalepeno burger with bacon, or whataburger triple with triple cheese and bacon PLUS a Braums brownie sundae with cherry sauce added (two brownies, two scoops ice cream, hot fudge, cherry sauce, whipped cream)
I've also been known to eat a whole roast chicken (including most of the skin) with three large sides (sweet potato casserole, creamed spinach, mac and cheese) from Boston market - in the course of about two hours.
I would binge as a kind of self-punishement, and eat until it hurt.

UGGHH!! It was a crazy weekend! my daughter turn 16th last friday and had to have pizza , cake and soda.. the following night went to a japanese restaurant and I love the saporo beer, had 1 20 oz bottle along with the hibachi cooking that is loaded with sodium.. weekends are hard for me!! :(
Hey empresscat since you had the courage to post yours I will put mine up as well..
I'll try to remember what my old cheats used to look like, it's been a long time, but I think I can close to remember what one of them was like....
lemme see, breakfast:
5 biscuits(300 calories each)
with butter, peanut butter, jam etc.
gravy
fried eggs
cheese
peanut butter
some fruit, bananas or something
(around 2,500calories)
snack:
Tofurky, 1/2 pkg. cheese, 3tb. peanut butter
lunch:
1/2 medium pizza
lasagna
large salad w dressing
snack: 1 large loaf of sweet sugary bread with cheese and almond butter
dinner, starting at like 6:00PM going to like 11:00PM, so not all in one sitting:
1 loaf bread
1package cheese
butter
3 pancakes with nut butter
yogurt
fruit
1 large mocha shake
1package cookies
that's around 10,000 calories(I weighed around 140lbs at that time) and I would be in really bad pain and wouldn't be hungry untill two days later, and no I'm not bragging about it, I had serious issues! I just though I might as well post it LOL.

since people are coming completely clean, i will say mine. i am a recovering binge eater so this is going back a while (years)
breakfast: wake up at 5am make 10 pancakes, while cooking them i'm shoving either oreos or sandie's pecan cookies down my throat (i eat half the package before i even eat the pancakes.
back to bed due to sugar coma
wake up at 8 and eat 4 large pillsberry cinnamin rolls
lunch: double whopper with cheese from BK with super sized fry and 1 pint of ben and jerrys chubby hubby ice cream
dinner:8 slices of sicilian pizza with about 12 peanut butter cookies or another pint of ice cream for desert
this binge was one of the worst and basically my lowest point at which i decided to seek help for my binge eating. i remember retaining 12 lbs of water the next day and not being able to fit into my clothes and fading in and out of sleep with a serious sugar hangover. definately not proud but i did it. i don't know how i cramed all that food in, i'm only 5'3 and weight 115lbs!!!!!!

My fiance just recovered from a tonsilectomy and uvula removal so we had a huge cheat day before getting back on track.
I ate:
4 slices of thin crust pepperoni pizza
3 slices of cheesey bread with a container of marinara and a container of garlic dipping sauce
1 Reese PB pumpkin
1 package of swiss rolls
1 triple chocolate chunk brownie
... I felt so sick the next day! I never even want to LOOK at pizza again!

I thought i had a horrible cheat weekend, but I guess it was not that bad.
I went chocolate-less for a month and since it was over I had hard time coping with cheat food. I thought about it all of the time.
I ate my protein oatmeal for breakfast, apple as a snack, lunch: chicken breast with rice. Cheating started later into the evening - 1/2 a pack of ice cream, some pasta, a croissant. For midnight snack I went out with my boyfriend to a chocolate bar - 1/2 a cup of hot cocoa while waiting in the line and then - a marshmallow crepe' with chocolate inside and as a topping, one scoop of ice cream and gummi bears. I did not feel too good afterwards.
The midnight snack was awesome and it makes a wonderfull cheat meal [I have a 5k race on saturday morning, so it will make a good lunch apre race], but I am definetly going to skip all of the prep pasta and ice cream. It was quite a lot of empty calories I did not enjoy enough.

you got to cheat, its the only way to remain sain... but let me tell you i find that i get really sick when eating candy or ice cream now because its so heavy~ but hey i need my chocolate,
When I was in the Navy we would eat 3000 calorie meals on a regular basis and I never went over 125 lbs. amazing but we trained really hard with lots of PT all the time.
More recently I had a box of chocolate covered oreos, a large can of mandarin oranges in syrup (yep, drank the syrup) a large peperoni pizza and five or six banana pops (best sex toy in the world :D) at one sitting. Wasn't very comfortable afterward.

I don't do a big binge but will have a junk meal once a week or every week and a half. My favorite is a bacon cheeseburger meal from Whataburger with a giant root beer. The last time I did a real binge on junk was over two years ago at Cici's Pizza. Ate pizza until it hurt!

Poutine. I used to have one a week... easy 1000cal from a large poutine.
This summer i made my own poutine, it was 1,5 pounds of fries and 1,00 pounds of cheese and lots of gravy. I never calculated how much calories there were in that poutine, but it was so great, i ate this during my cutting process, didn't prevent me to loose 12 pounds. I think that my cheat meals were too extrem that maybe why i haven't lost more weight than that.
I never finished the poutine, it was too extrem, two hours after the poutine i ate triple chocolate brownies. MIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMM!!! I must restart a cut now, i have gotten big.

They have a salad bar and they will serve maybe one lean meat per meal, but the rest is hamburgers, pizza, fried chicken, potatoes, and a dessert table the size of a bed. well i am in college too ..
just make some sandwiches, bring em with you, you're good for the day .. and a bottle of water, then just refill em at the fountains [saves A LOT of money!]
if you must eat fried chicken, eat the breast part but remove the skin. there's a kfc right across my college and that's what i do. i pack some whole wheat bread with me, that's what i eat instead of the white rice they serve with it.
it's all about planning ahead.
