Ms. Fit seems to be the oh wise one of it all and I know this question has been asked many times but what is your final word on cardio? How much, how often in goals of dropping a small amount of fat while preserving muscle? How much is too much and too little?
Thanks!!

LOL......there are many great posters here!
As for my final word on cardio -- IT BITES! :D *just joking*
Cardio really depends on your stats, current diet and exercise program.
When I begin to prep for a show I start light cardio about 16 weeks out or so...About 3 times a week for 20 minutes every week or two I add either a few minutes or a day. Eventually I work my way up to twice a day for a few weeks. Just depends on how everything is tying in.
Right now I'm training to maintain so I'm keeping my cardio 3 times a week for 30 minutes. I do cardio for heart health too. ;)
What are your immediate goals and what are your stats?

huh, I didn't get the last post but through giving birth I did lose brain cells.
My goals are really maintaining, I have posted before that although I have a clean diet, maybe restricting complex carbs too much, most days vary between 50 and the most 150 depending on activities and workouts , I have still a couple of pounds in the belly after having my son 10 months ago that just won't budge. I can sort of see my abs and they're hard, my lower belly is flat( usually the first plave I gain) just a little extra right in the middle that won't budge. I'm not really sure if my B/F before birth it was around 15-17. I feel like I'm pretty muscular, especially the legs but I feel like I've lost a little size in them because of excessive cardio (I was doing an hour a day 6 days) but after reading your posts dropped it to 40 and work one body part a week. Before pregnancy my abs were pretty defined, not 6 pack but you could see the muscle. 5'4 123 about 150 -180 grams of protein a day, lotsa water and veggies.
Sorry for the long post.

LOL........The last part was me telling you that you have a PM (Private Message) :D
Don't restrict the carbs too much. Eat some good complex carbs for breakfast and before training to provide necessary energy. Have non-starchy veggies for your other meals. This way you can utilize your carbs and you won't be over eating them. Also, some simple sugar is great after a workout to replinish your muscles.
Water is very important in weight loss, drink a lot to flush the toxins and excess sodium. ;)
