I would like to start by thanking Epic Nutrition for the opportunity to test this product. I tried it once via a Free sample pack when it was first released and had a decent experience with it. This was about a year ago now. I also read the book "The Power that Moves Muscle" By Joe Pavlik with Pete Ciccone that Epic released with this product. It is an excellent read with some great info. Not just a "promo" book like you get with most products.

5-Tetra
Maximize Growth!
5-Tetra Provides The Power To Move Muscle And Improve Recovery Time!
5-TETRA is "the ultimate muscle intensifier" providing both immediate and long lasting muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular strength and endurance, as well as being extremely potent at buffering lactic acid to "fight the burn" longer and increase total work performed in any given workout. 5-TETRA enhances multiple areas of exercise performance establishing itself as the premier all encompassing, broad-spectrum exercise and performance aid available to fitness enthusiasts from novice to professional.
5-Tetra is a combination of 4 powerful, clinically proven, naturally occurring substances. These key ingredients work synergistically to provide muscles with true increased energy at the cellular level. This will dramatically improve performance, contractility, strength, power output and total work your muscles are able to perform. No other supplement in existence today does what this unique formulation has been shown to do. 5-Tetra works by directly supplying ATP (cellular energy) to the muscle cells. Additionally, 5-Tetra is an aggressive ATP regenerator, supporting the synthesis and regeneration of new ATP within the muscle cell. Increased ATP allows increased training load, and harder, more intense muscular contractions to stimulate maximal muscle growth. 5-Tetra also stimulates increased testosterone production, and facilitates fat mobilization and the use of fat for energy.
5-Tetra Benefits:
Directly increases levels of adenosine triphosphate (cellular energy)
Increases blood flow to muscle cells
Clinically tested, patented
Increases ATP by supplying direct precursor, cAMP
Increases testosterone production
Increases blood flow (for increased "pump")
Increases oxygen efficiency
Significantly decreases fatigue
Pyruvate (calcium pyruvate anhydrous)
Allows for more efficient energy production during anaerobic activity
Facilitates fatty acid and amino acid conversion into muscle energy
Works synergistically with other ingredients to increase overall production of ATP
Yohimbine HCI
Increases lipolysis
Facilitates use of fat for energy

If you read any of my other log then you'll know that using the combination of 4-NitroTropic and 8-BetaAnabol I have now put on 4 lbs since starting my test run. I've had excellent strength gains and have performed exceptionally well in the gym. The addition of 5-Tetra will hopefully only add to what great progress i've already made, but like my past logs, I will remain unbiased and provide an accurate assessment of my results with this product. After being on the same regimen for several weeks now it should be easy to tell if 5-Tetra is working or not and to what extent.
Thanks to Epic I will also be able to continue using the 8-BetaAnabol I have been testing since they were nice enough to send a tub of it along with the 5-Tetra. I am almost out and the timing couldn't be more perfect.
I'll post my Day 1 results later after I go to the gym. Today's a leg day so I can use all the help I can get.
So let's Tear it UP!!!!

I am excited to hear your feedback Mick.
I first tried 5-Tetra well over a year ago, and the results were fantastic. I later logged the product, again with excellent results. Both the log and review were done prior to becoming an EPIC rep. That said, my experience with the product played a key role in my decision to join EPIC.

I took my 5-Tetra approximately 60 minutes prior to my workout. I took 4 caps to start with but it definitely had an impact. I set 2 PR's today. I don't ussually throw PR's out there because I don't hit them very often. i have lifted heavy for years, but not with my legs. So my leg workout today was a record for me. Upper body lift PR's are much harder to come by since I have lifted for many years and I think most of my PR's have been hit when I was younger. Either way, if its like a 5 year PR, I will list it as such. If you are following my other log, you'll notice the copy and paste here:
Today was the first day I didn't workout first thing in the morning for awhile and it was also the first day I was able to incorporate 5-Tetra into my workout. I took the 5-Tetra (4 caps) approximately 60 minutes prior to going to the gym, took my 2 scoops of 4-Nitro about 20 minutes prior to going to the gym, and I began sipping 8-BetaAnabol right when I began stretching to start my workout. The Epic 3 Pack Stack pretty much! The addition of the 5-Tetra must have been just what the doctor ordered because I had a kick ass workout.
Workout: (Legs)
Squats
135 x 15, 185 x 10, 225 x 10, 275 x 10, 315 x 10, 345 x 8 (PR Today!)
Leg Presses
400 x 10, 460 x 10, 500 x 8, 550 x 8 (PR Today!)
Leg Extensions (Superset w/ Leg Curls Below)
155 x 10, 155 x 10, 155 x 9 (just a little better than last week)
Leg Curls
105 x 10, 130 x 10, 130 x 10 (went up 30lbs, close to PR, but barely got the reps)
Calf Raises
170 x10 x 3 (didn't push hard, coming back from calf muscle pull)
Initial Assessment: Since today was only day 1 on this product I won't give it too much credit, but I did hit 2 PR's during this workout. I was trying to see if I felt anything different during my workout today and I have to say the workout speaks for itself. I had more at the end of my workout than I have had in the last few, but it will take a few more workouts to tell for sure. By the end of week 1 I hope to give an assessment based on the product claims listed earlier in this log.

One of the things I failed to put up here was that my list of supplements I'm taking is wrong in my earlier post. The only supplements I'm taking right now are:
Epic Nutrition's 4-NitroTropic
Epic Nutrition's 8-BetaAnabol
Epic Nutrition's 5-Tetra
Dymatize Elite Whey Protein (Banana)
NOW Adam
Fish Oil

I started the day with 4 caps of 5-Tetra about 60 minutes prior to my workout, followed it up with 2 1/4 scoops of 4-Nitro about 25 minutes prior to my workout and then began sipping a single serving of 8-Beta right when I started working out. I finished off the Lemon Lunacy flavor test bottle of 4-NitroTropic today and will be starting the Mad Bull flavor tomorrow before I do my Back/ Bi's workout.
My workout:
Chest/Triceps:
Bench Press (I started at a higher weight to see if I could push higher and heavier then last week)
135 x 15 x 2
225 x 10
245 x 8
275 x 6
300 x 5 (ultimately I only got a couple extra reps and pushed a slightly higher weight)
Incline Dumbell Press
85 x 8, 85 x 8, 85 x 8 (2 more reps)
Dumbell Flyes
75 x 8 x 3 (same as last week)
Triceps Rope Pushdowns
180 x 10, 170 x 10, 170 x 8, 160 x 8
Dips
4 x 20 reps
Assessment:
I didn't feel too great to start with. My bench was slightly difficult because I had stomach issues and as soon as I finished my last rep on bench I was heading to the bathroom. The rest of the workout went great. My pump was really good as was my focus. My overall energy was average and not as pronounced as it was when I started 4-Nitro. Overall, the workout wasn't much different than last week, but you can't expect to keep adding 5 and 10 pounds to your lifts every workout. I did add some reps here and there which is definitely a plus.
8-BetaAnabol: Nothing new to note as far as the 8-Beta is concerned. My DOMS haven't been half as bad as they should considering the intensity that I workout at. Being able to go back in the gym every day and hit the weights just as hard is a big plus.
5-Tetra: I didn't really notice anything extra today. That doesn't mean anything really because I wasn't looking for it. When I get going on my workout I don't stop. I keep my stopwatch going and I am very strict about time between sets. With my workout being very similar to last week when I didn't take 5-Tetra it was a little disappointing to not notice anything. I am thinking about adding a cap to this and trying 5 caps instead of 4.
One thing I did really take notice of today was the coating on the tablets. The enteric coating really makes these caplets easy to swallow and luckily they aren't like the NO2 horse pills I've taken in the past.

Today I started off with 5 caps of 5-Tetra 60 minutes prior to my workout and then I started the last of 3 containers of 4-NitroTropic (Mad Bull Flavor)by taking 2 scoops about 20 minutes pre-workout. I then started sipping my 8-Beta about 5 minutes prior to starting my workout.
Training today: (Back/Bi's)
Seated Wide arm pulldowns/ Close-grip reverse pulldowns superset
140 x 10/ 120 x 8, 140 x 8/ 120 x 8, 140 x 8/ 120 x 8 (about the same as last week)
One-Arm Dumbell Rows
100 x 7 x 3 (added a rep to each set today)
Seated Cable Rows
150 x 8, 160 x 8, 160 x 8 (moved up 10 lbs after strong first set)
Standing Incline Alternating Dumbell Curls
40 x 10, 40 x 8, 40 x 7 (again with 40's but felt stronger than last week, better form)
Standing Barbell Curls
75 x 10, 75 x 10, 75 x 10 (same as last week)
Assessment: Another bought of the bathroom blues today that messed me up a little in the beginning, but by the time I got through my One Arm Rows I felt pretty good. In fact I felt really strong through the second half of the workout and thought I could really feel the 5-tetra kicking in today. At the end of my workout I was really surprised to see that I hadn't made much headway from last week's workout, but it felt good nonetheless. At the end of the workout I couldn't do my ab exercises due to more stomach issues and was hit once again an hour later. I am going to see if taking a protein shake 15 minutes after taking the 4-Nitro helps. If I take it in the afternoon, I don't have any issues, but being that the morning is "my time" anyway, this issue just gets bigger. My pump during the wrokout was excellent and the focus was great once again.
5-Tetra: Adding another cap to my dosing today helped. I could feel the lactic acid buffering today. Even though I was winded from the workout, the weights themselves went easier than I expected early in the sets. I felt more pumped today and the overall intensity of my workout was up. I am going to take Hal's advice and take 6 caps of 5-Tetra before my next workout on Thursday and see what kind of results I get. i also decided to take a look at some of the product claims today and analyze if I was feeling any of the 5-Tetra's claimed effects:
5-TETRA is the ideal pre-workout supplement for increased Strength and Endurance. Both male & female athletes of all levels will benefit from 5-TETRA's non-stimulant energy.
No matter the sport or activity, 5-TETRA creates the ideal environment for increased energy, performance and endurance, while simultaneously improving recovery.
5-TETRA's unique blend of ingredients delivers increased levels of ATP (cellular energy). 5-TETRA allows muscles to increase output, delays muscle fatigue and buffers metabolic waste (lactic acid and ammonia).
Immediate Performance Increase
I fel like I felt some of this effect today and can only hope by taking 6 caps next workout I feel even more. Feeling stronger and kocking out my reps with better form was something I realy noticed today.
Increase ATP Levels
The jury is still out on this one, but I would have to say the 5-Tetra combined with the other Epic products I'm taking has helped immensly in this regard. Only time will tell if the 5-Tetra has more of an impact.
Accelerate Recovery
This I noticed. Now while a product claim is that you will be less winded, my intensity during my workouts always has me fairly winded. Today however, when I thought the tank was empty, I kept putting up the weight with ease. I am very anxious to see if these effects continue, especially between really heavy sets like I've been lifting.

I am playing catchup here a little and updating my posts from a couple days ago. Day 20 was an off day. I still took my single serving of 4-Nitro with no really different results. It was a struggle from the beginning. I took 6 caps of 5-Tetra about 60 minutes prior to my workout and then took 2 scoops of 4-Nitro about 20 minutes prior to my workout. I then started sipping 8-Beta about 5 minutes prior to my workout. I started off this workout feeling bad and struggled to finish. I was starting to get sick and there was nothing any of the listed supps could do to make it better.
Training today: (Shoulders)
Seated Dumbell Press
65 x 10 (warmup), 70 x 10, 70 x 10, 70 x 10 (more reps this week)
Smith Machine Seated Behind the Head Press (same as last week)
95 x 10, 115 x 8, 135 x 8, 135 x 6
Seated Bent Over Laterals
45 x 10, 45 x 10, 45 x 10
Standing Lateral Raises/ Front Delt Raises SuperSet
30 x 8/ 25 x 8, 30 x 8/ 25 x 8, 30 x 8/ 25 x 8 (almost didn't finish)
Shrugs
(didn't do shrugs)
Pullovers
155 x 10, 155 x 10, 155 x 10 (same as last week)
Assessment: After experiencing a little "bathroom" drama again today, I started feeling weak and only got worse. I fought and fought to keep the workout going, but by the end I was physicall beat. I ended up going home from work early and was laid up sick Friday and Saturday. I finally got my leg workout in today. I didn't take any supps on the 2 days I was sick. I guess you can say the supps did do their work to a certain extent. I was still able to do a somewhat respectable workout even while being fairly ill.
Mick535
11-12-2006, 07:30 PM
I took my 6 caps of 5-Tetra about 60 minutes prior to my workout today. I then took my 4-Nitro about 30 minutes prior to my workout and then began sipping my 8-Beta about 5 minutes before starting to workout and drank it throughout my workout. I was feeling much better today after being sick the last couple of days. I was ready to get my leg workout in.
Workout: (Legs)
Squats
135 x 15, 185 x 10, 225 x 10, 275 x 10, 315 x 10, 365 x 8 (another PR Today!)
Leg Presses
410 x 10, 500 x 10, 590 x 8, 640 x 10 (PR Today again!)
Leg Extensions (Superset w/ Leg Curls Below)
155 x 10, 155 x 10, 155 x 10
Leg Curls
130 x 10, 130 x 10, 130 x 10
Calf Raises
170 x10 x 3 (didn't push hard again)
Assessment: I normally give a weekly assessment, but I will wait until my supps are done now because this week ended so messed up. I still had some initial bathroom trouble again this morning and about an hour after my workout. This is definitley a side effect of the 4-Nitro I just can't get used to. But with the addition of the 5-Tetra, today was awesome. I felt really good and super strong during my lifts. To get another set of PR's on the squats and leg presses after just hitting PR's on these for the first time last week is unbelievable. My energy during the workout was really good and I had a great pump in my legs. I could see my leg muscles as I did squats which was awesome. I felt so strong that I added weight on my last set of squats higher than last week and then on the leg press I just felt really powerfull and only stopped going higher because my left knee started feeling weak.
5-Tetra: I really felt the 5-Tetra today and I believe taking the 6 caps instead of 4 or 5 is the key. I weighed in at 190 lbs again today. My recovery between sets and the ability to keep pushing higher weight during this workout was a true sign the 5-Tetra was kicking in. I am impressed. It was a subtle feeling, but different from that of the 4-Nitro and the 8-Beta. I can't explain it. Its not an energy rush, its more like a power rush.

Another day of the same with 6 tabs of 5-Tetra 60 minutes prior to my workout and then 30 minutes prior I took my 2 scoops of 4-Nitro. 5 minutes before my workout began I started sipping my single serving of 8-Beta.
My workout:
Chest/Triceps:
Bench Press
135 x 15 x 2
225 x 10
245 x 8
275 x 6
300 x 5 (same as last week, tough)
Incline Dumbell Press
85 x 8, 85 x 8, 85 x 8
Dumbell Flyes
75 x 8 x 3
Triceps Rope Pushdowns
180 x 10, 170 x 10, 170 x 8, 170 x 8 (a little better than last week)
Dips
4 x 20 reps
Assessment:
Some mild bathroom issues to start the day, but not enough to keep me from having a pretty good workout. Just like yesterday with my leg workout, I didn't really push any extra weight this week, but I felt really good. My energy wasn't really that great, but I felt the power surge from the 5-Tetra once again. It is very subtle , but by the end of the workout I was like, "hey, that was pretty good!". I had a pretty good pump today too. Not mind blowing, but decent. My focus as usual was excellent. Overall a very good day.
8-BetaAnabol: The recovery from yesterday's workout has been very good. I would expect to be really sore after such a hard workout, but I do not feel bad at all. This has become one of my favorite products.
5-Tetra: I am definitely noticing the effects of this product now. I think it is a very solid product. I haven't felt any difference in pumps on it so far. I still get the same pump I have been getting from the 4-Nitro and that is not a overpowering pump. I do notice the lactic acid buffering. To be able to recover inbetween sets and lift for the same reps the next set is incredible.

Sorry guys, I had a small break in the action from my logging from November 13th to the 20th due to being sent away for work to South Carolina. I continued to workout and take my supps and will be continuing this log without another break (hopefully) until complete.

I started the day once again with 6 tablets of 5-Tetra, about an hour prior to my workout. I then took my 2 scoops of 4-Nitro about 20 minutes prior to my workout and began sipping my single serving of 8-Beta about 5 minutes prior to my workout beginning.
My workout:
Chest/Triceps:
Bench Press
135 x 15 x 2
205 x 12
245 x 10
275 x 8
305 x 6 (struggled, but the extra reps show the effort)
Incline Dumbell Press
85 x 10, 85 x 8, 85 x 8
Dumbell Flyes
75 x 10, 75 x 8, 75 x 8
Triceps Pushdowns
170 x 15, 200 x 12, 200 x 10 (200 is the max amount on the machine)
Dips
4 x 20 reps
Assessment:
As opposed to previous weeks, I was bound up from traveling and the 4-Nitro "effects" were a welcome relief this morning. After my initial trip to the bathroom the workout went well early, but even with the 5-Tetra, I felt burned out early and the energy rush from the 4-Nitro quickly faded. I think that if I hadn't taken the 5-Tetra, I wouldn't have been able to finish the workout as well as I did. Now being two days after this workout, i am still tight and fairly sore which has not been the norm, but I think it reflects the effort I put into the workout.
8-BetaAnabol: So far, not the recovery I have normally received from this product, but the travel and my internal clock being off might have done it.
5-Tetra: I felt like this product saved me during this workout, yet still wan't enough to make me have a real positive attitude afterwards. I am thinking of pushing them up to 8 caps before each workout.

Well, with this workout, I finished off my 3rd and final tub of 4-Nitro. I have already taken my "after" pics for my 4-Nitro thread. I took them earlier today. This workout log post was completed yesterday. (Yes I know I am slacking, work issues.) I did the normal morning routine and still kept with the 6 caps of 5-Tetra. I took my last 2 scoops (really only about 1 and 3/4 scoops) about 30 minutes prior to my workout, I then started sipping my one serving of 8-Beta about 5 minutes before my workout.
Training today: (Back/Bi's)
Seated Wide arm pulldowns/ Close-grip reverse pulldowns superset
140 x 10/ 120 x 10, 140 x 8/ 120 x 8, 140 x 8/ 120 x 8
One-Arm Dumbell Rows
105 x 7 x 3 (pumped out a few extra reps)
Seated Cable Rows
160 x 8, 170 x 8, 170 x 8 (sucked but I did it)
Standing Incline Alternating Dumbell Curls
40 x 10, 40 x 8, 40 x 8 (not much improvement)
Standing Barbell Curls
80 x 10, 80 x 10, 80 x 10 (a few more reps)
Assessment: Luckily no bathroom issues today. I was waiting for it to hit, but nothing, so happy about that. Had a decent workout and moved up in some reps from last week which is always a plus. My strength has definitely increased. Still sore from the previous day's workout and my right arm feels weird in the joint of my elbow for some reason. Decent energy, but it decreased early in the workout again. I am definitely moving up to 8 caps of 5-Tetra for my next workout.
5-Tetra: Saved me again today late int he workout. I felt good, but not as good as I could. I didn't really get the lacti acid buffering I was hoping for, but considering the improvements I have made, I guess beggers can't be choosers. Ha!

I started the day off with 8 caps of 5-Tetra instead of the 6 I had been taking to see if there was any difference in results. I didn't take any pre-workout supplement since I just ran out of 4-Nitro, but I did start sipping my 8-BetaAnabol about 10 minutes prior to my workout to give myself a boost. Evidently it worked because I had an awesome workout. I've always hated legs, but here lately I have been making huge progress.

Assessment: WOW! Punching up to 8 caps really helped a lot. I felt like I had fast recovery between sets and I was able to push weight easily. I was in shock during my squats at how light the warm-up weight felt as I was building up. I was also shocked at my leg press weight, especiall because I had to do my leg extension/ leg curls before the press because someone else was using the leg press. My recovery after doing squats and the superset was great. I rest for 90 seconds between sets and 120 seconds between exercises during my workouts so this really was an obvious increase in capability for me today.
When I hit 14 days of use, I am going to post an initial review based on the product claims. I have also used 8-BetaAnabol by Epic over the last month and a half and plan on writing a complete review as soon as I have a little extra time. I can honestly say that 8_beta is a first class product and one I plan on using for the foreseeable future. I am a definte fan of this product.

Good to hear you've had a positive experience.
Were you ever able to post a final review?
