I'm competing in a teen division on November 11th for the OCB, and i feel that i'm not close to lean enough.

Am I too far behind?

My life has been revolved around preparing for it, and now i'm panicing that it's too soon. I'm following Layne's guide (thx for such a thorough guide), but it's my first time, some honest criticism will help.

honestly man, you probably won't place well, but you could compete. The most important thing to learn for your first show is how to pose though. If you haven't been practicing your posing and your routine, it could make a big difference. Go for it though, you seem cut enough. Once you drop water it will come. Good luck, I have my first show nov 4th. Don't worry, no one expects you to be arnold your first show =]

If you back out now you will regret it! You need to set a benchmark no matter what it is. You don't have to rock the house the first time. No one is that good to begin with. You'll be fine, trust us.

I agree, if you have came all this way just do it and learn from it. Use it as motivation for the next offseason and come back in a year or 2 looking much better. That's personally what I did and it payed off.

not bad at all, your back is pretty defined, the middle of your lats was that i noticed first...was just wondering how you build that part of the muscle...

Don't worry - I won't be as lean as I need to be either - but it's MY BEST - and that's all that matters. This is a race between you and YOU!

I'm coming in Friday afternoon. If you want, I'd be happy to work with you on your posing - we gotta fix that lat spread pose!!!!! Shoot me a PM.

You're gonna do great . . and have a blast!!

Compete!! doesnt matter where u place now! Just learn the experience of it, so next time you will know what to expect, how others look. and You will learn more about training etc... as you get older and grow :)

A verrry late update to my competition. It was one of the best experiences i've ever had and I ended up winning Best Poser. I would like to thank all the people who supported me and encouraged me to compete when I was close to backing out.
