Hi I am new here to the site! Its great btw :) I just need some help on loseing weight and getting to shape. I recently joined Curves for Women..i dont know if anyone has heard of it but it seems to do great for alot of people that go there. IT mainly uses hydrolics and stuff on the machines.
Well ihavent been going that long but i just wanted to know if any of you had ever went?
I just had a baby nearly 5 months ago and am really want t get in shape. I am 5'5 and weight about 155 now. Does running help me? I have never really excersied before so im really new heh. I bought a Total Gym as well if anyone can give me some tips on what are the best excersises on it.
I bought some Hydroxycut as well i tried xenadrine but it made me sick to my stomach.
I am not a big eater but i dont usually eat till later at nighgt because of my work and kid and stuff.
Well thanks for info if ya have any.

First thing's first. Start with your nutrition. Making choices on lean meats such as chicken breast, lean beef and fish like salmon, tuna. Replace processed carbs with natural sources like sweet potatoes, kidney beans, wild rice, slow cooking oatmeal. And lots of veggies, very little fruit because it converts into frutose a fruit sugar and stores easily as bodyfat. Eat several times a day up to 5-6. Most importantly, drink lots of water, it's essential to your body's productivity and functions. You'll notice a difference just from that.
On your work outs. Yes I have heard of Curves and we at our personal training studio are bringing PACE which is the original Curves only a little more advanced. It was created by 2 guys who split up and 1 did Curves and the other did Pace. Anyway, make sure you work towards failure. The muscles do not get a lot of benefit out of excercise unless pushed further than usual.
Cardio you should stay away from running unless you enjoy it. Too much pressure on the joints and it strips too much muscle. I've either seen chunky joggers or skinny runners not athletic bodies like sprinters. Try getting a heart rate monitor from a sporting shop, to monitior where you are at for fat burning. Their are many forms of cardio that will strip the bodyfat off without being ballistic on the joints. Learn all that you can and trial and error. If you need any help just pm me...............I hope this helps a little

i agree with bufchk, eat clean and quality foods and regular small meals.... water water water. you could also try some sort of keto diet, or just cut out high carb starchy foods. (read a few of the sticky posts in the losing fat forum)
are you taking vitamins etc?
and its probably a good thing that the hydroxycut and xenadrine made you feel sick, cause its not good for breast feeding mothers. thats if youve chosen to breast feed.
i havent tried curves, but my friend bought a total gym off the tv and she followed the video that came with it and got great results, she looks even better now than before she gained weight.
after my pregnancy i did a lot of swimming to lose fat. i'm an ex swimmer/bodybuilder so i pushed myself hard til i was out of breath and then i would stop for a minute and then go again. it works every muscle in your body, really lengthens them out and has no impact. if you cant handle swimming for great lengths of time doing freestyle, then breast stroke is just as effective. just push a little harder. the same in the gym, i dont use free weights anymore (only on arms), but you can get just as good results on machines that use your own bodyweight for resistance (like the total gym). im of course assuming you dont want to add muscle mass, just lean and tone up :)
cheers
