General rule for cutting meals are that they are small(300-350 cals), consume carbs( mainly complex) early in the day - last 2 meals carb free, increase protein intake and reduce satuarted fat and overall carb intake, eat every 2.5-3 hrs, good foods when cutting are: chicken, tuna, turkey, whey protein powder, eggs, yams, wholemeal bread/pasta, brown rice , brocolli, spinach, fruits(apples and strawberries escp.). Just be sure to have at least 25-30 grams of protien in each meal and 20-30 grams of complex carbs. Dont foget healthy fats such as flax and olive oil.

Big,

So you use the keto diet for cutting? That's interesting.. I heard that staying as carb free as possible is the best way to cut while minimizing muscle loss... I don't know yet because I have yet to try and cut from my first bulking cycle and won't know for probably another 3 months/20 lbs.. whichever comes first..

Also.. I believe in the low-carb/no-carb theory for cutting up quickly and effectively, but I also believe the reason this works is only because a caloric deficit has been created while being low carb..

Although I believe it to be more effective to lose actual FAT and not MUSCLE through the low carb way, and not the low fat way, it still only comes from a calorie deficit..

I have researched this subject alot and think about to get the picture on it, but I don't understand how you use a Keto diet to cut.. when you just recarb at the end of the week.. maybe you know something I don't?:) Let me know..

Thanks,
Jim

like below, when i cut (like i am now) i usually stick to 300-400 cal meals and i usually eat chicken breasts, pasta, tuna, eggs, stuff like that keeps you full and healthy. the only thing to worry about is the calories in salad dressing! i seen this stuff with like 200 calories for 2 spoon fulls!
