Hello everyone
I'm new in this world of Bodybuilding.
I started on last Sunday lifting some weights 'til yesterday (today is my day off!), working the arms, shoulders, backs and chest (ABS every day).
Well, because I searched about this issue, I ordered this Whey Protein "Optimum NUT 100% Whey GOLD (941g)" to have it JUST after the training (1 scoop of ~30g). What do you think of this idea ? Is it ok or I shouldn't drink for now because I never trained in the past ?
My stats: 5.83" and 154.3 lbs... BF% dunno.

Drink the whey!! Very important, doesn't matter if you have not trained in the past. DRINK IT. Good Luck.

Look into a good multi vitamin and some fish oils along with your whey. Also you will want some carbs with your whey. I like grinding up oats and putting them in with it, but something like gatorade or dextrose would work as well.

depends on your diet. but i would say NO...
i usually dont get enough protein during the day so i have 2 scoops in a shake in the morning and 2 scoops in a shake after my workout. i take that with 10g of creatine monohydrate (5g on days i dont workout) and a multivitamin, and i have put on a good 10 pounds in the last month. good luck man.

yes, it is a good idea to drink it immediately post work-out (within 20 min of your last set if possible)--as whey is absorbed quickly by th GI tract--and is good for recovery after a hard work out if you drink it immediately post work out. at other times of the day, it is good to drink a longer acting protien--which helps prevent protien catabolism (burning muscle). good choices are casein, caseinate and milk protien (casein is milk protien minus the whey protien, but cow milk protien is about 80% casein--so it is primarily a long acting protien--that is, it is absorbed from the GI tract much slower than a fast protien like whey).
for building muscle, you will need to eat enough protien. for weight training, the recommended daily protien intake is 0.8gram (or about a gram) per pound of body weight (base on the information printed on my bag of whey from costco). some people will say you need more than that. i would consider 0.8gm per day the minimum you'd want to be consuming (from food + protien supplement).
drink one scoop in h20 about 20 minutes prior to working out and 2 scoops along with some carbs immediately after.

Well, i've bought already the Whey protein and have been drinking it since Saturday.
It's the ON 100% Whey GOLD Vanilla, is anything wrong with it ? I think it's nice.. and i've gained some mass since then, at least i feel it in my arms.
