I was one of the 50 chosen to get a free jug of MAN's Clout to test. Thanks to Joey for including Canadians in the test.

About Me
I'm 55, height 5'7" and weight 180 pounds. I have been training since December 2003. Since July 2004 I have worked out three days a week. One of those days I work out with a trainer.

I post my workouts in the Over 35 area:
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=361260

My current workout plan is fully described here:
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=859351
In that thread I fully describe my four day split design along with my goals and reasoning behind the design. I am coming to an end of two month run of this workout plan. I'll be keeping the same basic plan design but switching up the exercises for variety.

I have done only one log before where I ran CL's Green Bulge, Blue Rhino and White Blood:
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=559107

Body Type
I'm an endomorph. Food goes easily to fat so I have to watch my diet.

Goals
- Increase strength.
- Get rid of the remaing midsection fat and get close to 15%BF.
- Keep away all those pains (knees, lower back, shoulders)
- Look good nekkid.

Training
I train three days a week using a four day split. That way I don't always work the same muscle group on the same day. My training days are usually Tuesday 7:0pm, Thursday 7:00pm and Sunday 10:00am. Tuesdays are usually with a trainer.

Diet
My diet is mostly clean. I avoid simple carbs and try to keep to 40% carbs(complex), 40% protein and 20% fats. I eat lots of fresh fish. My breakfast is usually an orange, whole wheat toast with one of cheese, eggs or smoked fish. Lunch at work is either grilled fish or chicken on salad or a low carb meal replacement shake. Supper is chicken, fish or beef with two vegetables or one vegetable and brown rice. Snacks are fruit or a PVL Whey Gourmet shake. My wife and I eat out most Saturday night. We eat well but stay away from fried foods.

Current Supplements
- Multivitamin
- Fish Oil
- Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM
- Surge as a post-workout shake
- Hot-Rox Extreme

Supplement History
I respond only partially to creatine monohydrate and it upsets my digestion. I have used two bottles of Kre-Alkalyn and have resonded well to that. It made my muscles feel harder and helped me increase weight on a lot of my lifts. I responded best to Green Bulge and I used it for just under a full year. I have not used any Creatine products since July.

I took my first scoop of Clout in a glass of water just after breakfast. The bubble-gum like taste is not bad but the slight bitter aftertaste will take getting used to.

On the way to work I felt a slight tingling sensation (from the beta-alanine) but it went away within a short time.

Tonight is my regular workout. I'm going to do Glutes and Abs. I'll take a second scoop around 1/2 hour before my workout.

I took one scoop of Clout before my workout (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showpost.php?p=11911656&postcount=868). Since it was not a heavy workout I did not notice anything out of the ordinary. My next four workouts are going to be 2 sets of 25 reps. For that the beta-alanine in Clout might help reduce the burn I usually get with my 2x25 workouts.

This morning I had my Clout mixed with water and ice. The taste is better the colder it is.

One scoop in the morning on the way to work and one scoop before my workout (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showpost.php?p=11940497&postcount=874).

I think I felt the Clout kick in during my 25 rep sets of ATG squats. The last time I did 2x25 I had a real muscle burn in my quads. This time there was no burn.

Also my biceps were fully pumped from the pullups - more so than the last Clout-less pullup workout.

Another 2x25 workout (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showpost.php?p=11978186&postcount=881) where I did Oly lifts and arms.

By now I an certainly say that Clout eliminates muscle burn when doing high-rep sets. I did 2 sets of hang clean & presses and I only needed to pause to shake the cramp out of my hands.

By now I am also starting to feel more muscle hardness and fullness. Even areas I have not exercised. Now if the taste can only be improved more.

Lunge & Abs workout (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showpost.php?p=12028592&postcount=892).

I'm getting used to the taste of Clout. Also the tingling from the beta-alanine is much reduced but not gone yet.

2x25 Deadlift & Chest workout (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showpost.php?p=12066316&postcount=913).

Compared to the last time I did this workout I felt no muscle burn at all. I also have been feeling more pumped than usual.

I have to come to the end of the workout plan I started in August so I'll be taking a week off before hitting the iron again with a new plan. I'll keep taking Clout daily during my week off.

I have a 4-day split. Each time though the 4 days I switch sets/reps rotating through 3x12, 5x6, 6x3 and 2x25. I got that from the The New Rules of Lifting. Its worth buying for its program designs.

I have been getting good results from mixing up the sets & reps. Everytime I cycle back to the 6x3 where I use the heaviest weights I get plenty of personal bests.

I am taking a week off lifting. I have been using the same program since the beginning of August so its time to pause and design a new plan.

I've been taking Clout during the week off. When I post my new workout plan in my regular journal I'll put a link here.

Another Clout-enhanced workout (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showpost.php?p=12268035&postcount=939). I was able to do high-rep step-ups without feeling any burning. Previous Clout-less workouts had me stopping midway through 25 reps to shake out the burn.

I am also feeling more muscular hardness and pump for several days after hitting an area. For example, my chest still feels pumped six days after a hard chest workout.

I started this log on Oct 3 and now its almost one month and time to post some summary comments.

- The taste is bearable when mixed in ice water. I would think that a crisp citrus or green apple flavouring might work better.

- It took a week to get used to the slight tingle from the beta-alanine. Not unpleasant but strange.

- Clout has completely eliminated muscle burn when reaching for those extra reps. I used to have a rising muscle burn limit my set. With Clout I found that I could push hard until muscle failure.

- Prior to starting Clout I did not take any creatine supplement for around two months. By the end of my first week on Clout I could feel that muscle hardness come back. By the third week I could feel and see an all-around pumped hardness that I have not felt before.

- My cardio endurance has been increased with Clout.

I still have some left as I only took two servings on workout days and one on non-workout days. I'll keep posting links to my workouts until my tub is finished.

Oh ok I see. You don't think your cardio formula will be detrimental for keeping muscle?

Either way, i'm looking forward to seeing what's under that padding as well. Good luck J!

I hope not. I'll know if I'm losing muscle if I can't re-hit my PBs on the strength days.

That may or may not be true... size and strength do not go hand in hand.

I guess just watch the mirror closely J to see if you're losing much.

MAN Body Octane is great when stacked with a creatine, especially Clout.

I just started the CVM Xtreme but keep your eyes peeled :).
