OK...did not wait till the weekend to read this. I started last nite and finished this morning. Great book! :)
I have not put it too the test yet, but plan to starting on monday.

I just recently started a 12 week challenge on the over 35 forum with some other "oldies" there.
I have decided to start over, and use your guidelines from the book. So my 12 week (and lifetime) journey will begin on monday.

I will keep a weekly journal here in the women's section, so the younger girls can see the progress I make.

And I will also keep my thread going in "over 35", so my old friends can watch me transform into a hot babe. ;)

Hi.....I was wondering if I should eat before I work out or after. If it's before....how long am I to wait till I can work out? My hours are pretty set as to when I can work out..from 6 in the evening to 8. I dont' know whether to eat before I go work out or after. I dont like to eat that late at night but if it is better for me to do that then I will. I have lost 136 pounds on the Weight Watchers plan and I have to stay on this for the rest of my life. I have been working out..ie. lifting weights and running on the treadmill now for a year trying to tone up what damage I have done to my body. I am also 46 years old.I am begining to see some results of my hard work with some of my muscles toning up. I just dont know about eating before or after I work out. Any advice on this subject or anthing that may help at all will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Rebecca

You should eat before training to fuel your workout, and after training to replinish your depleted muscles. You body will utilize this food, so it's not stored as fat.

I eat 20-30 minutes before training, and 20 minutes after training. That's just my schedule. ;)

I think that book should be offered as a book as well as an e-book for those that do not have access to printers. Or for those who prefer books.

Just bought the book, been putting it off forever due to money reasons ( 30 american is like 60 cdn). But I have to say that so far I have enjoyed the read. I printed it out and put it in plastic sleeves in its own binder :D it looks sharp. Anyway, I like how its very low brow light reading, much like the body for life book, only better. The average person can read it and understand it without needing a background in science. But at the same time its very detailed and specific, instead of saying "follow this plan and youll get results", it teaches you to think for yourself which is good. Im only halfway through but I glanced ahead a few chapters and it looks like fun. I can see you have put alot of time and energy into this project and I want you to know that it shows.

Thanks for the review Aurora. Hope you printed it on a laser printer. :D As you know, a one-size-fits-all program never works. Iron Dolls (www.theelitephysique.com/irondolls) gives you the facts and you customize it to fit your lifestyle, stats, and activity level.

Come on over and join my forum Aurora. I sent out notices to all my purchasers. :D

Hello MsFit. This is my first post. I've been working out with a personal trainer for 10 weeks. I'm weight training 3 days a week and cardio (treadmill) 7 days. I'm eating a high protein, medium to low carb, and low fat diet.

At present I'm working to lose weight. I started about 260 and am down to 235. I'm 5' 6 1/2", and 45 years old. I've gotten addicted to the workouts and look forward all day to my sessions at the gym.

My trainer is a body builder and of course looks great, it makes me think about going to a bodybuilding show. I like getting stronger and have checked out a couple of the sites like this one 'cause I just want to learn lots more about getting healthy and strong. Plus I want to look good, even if I am getting older!!

Thanks for all your help with motivation, newsletter, etc. and good luck on your book.

Msfit you look great, looks like hard work. Your book also seems interesting the problem I am having I just been diagnosed with celiac disease no gluten barley, oats. My diet is different then everyone elses. Would you happen to know anyone in the fitness industry with the same, that could give me advice on eating. My program works well for me I think my eating isn't could be wrong though.

example

cardio 1 hr in morning
flax seed capsule
6 egg whites with english muffin and pb
coffee

train on weights
protein drink

chicken or fish with rice or baked potato with veggies

fruit with yogurt

lean meat with rice or baked potato or pasta with veggies

protein shake before bed
any advice would be great or if you know anyone else who can help
I came to far to throw in the towel
I don't eat any junk food or drink pop

Hello :)

I'm coming on this forum since last week and I do like it. I'm glad to see that I'm not alone !

I've been training for the past 4 years, but just "for fun". But, since December, I go to the gym each day and I have a new body ! I have difficulty to eat correctly (maybe 2-3 cheat meals each week) and I would like to eat eggs, but I don' tlike it. Anyway.

I was just wondering if I'm normal at 5'6", 135 pounds, 14% BF. I still have little love handles, but just ok ;) BTW, I'm 19.

I don't do a lot of legs because I "already have them" (550 pounds toes press without effort).

So, what do yout hink ?

Thanks !

Valérie

P.S. Sorry if my English is so-so...

Good luck with the e-book. I'm going out now but going to download it later.
