Hi all,
Was just wondering what you all thought on Seated Preacher Curl Bench and whether it would be worth buying one..
The ones ive seen that i can get online seem to be about £100 (except ebay)
Is that an alrite price?
Ive had a bit of trouble with my back so i havent been able to work on my biceps to full potential so i was thinking buying one may allow me to work harder on them without putting stress on my back
thnx for any input :D

I have one very similar to the one you posted.

It gave me much more control than the pad that connects to a bench.
I am over 6'4" and I do have to lean a little to pick up the bar but other than that, it is comfortable and it does isolate the biceps.
I keep several of my old Yorks on the bench to keep it from sliding around.

What about just doing DB curls on an inclined or fully upright bench?
If you do get a preacher curl bench make sure you get one like the one in the picture where there are TWO weight supports for the bar, and not just one right in the middle. That's a totally half-assed way of supporting the bar, not to mention the fact that the bar will tip right off of it if you attempt to add or remove plates from the bar.

Hi, you can get one for around £35 pounds from argos (if you are in the uk)
But it doesn't have any supports for the bar.

Incline DB curls are great but if you want to isolate your long and short heads of your bi's without cheating, preacher curls are perfect. There is no question about cheating when your elbows are stuck to that pad. Go for it!

I agree. When I give my joints a break from my heavy strength training and do some bodybuilding for a few months a year, I use my preacher bench with dumbbells to blow up my biceps. No other exercise can give them that "congested" look.
