Anyone else find incline presses put a lot of strain on your back (over arching)? Maybe it's because my legs are too stretched out to offer good support from the floor? I think it might have been the source of my back pain.

sometimes towards the end of a set of incline presses people tend to arch the back. this makes it easier to lift the weight (makes it a little more like a flat press). this could be your problem. make sure you have the same form on all reps. dont compromise form just to get up another sloppy rep or two.

the lower part of your chest is the strongest so you are transferring your weight there. If you are trying to target more upper chest/shoulders there is no benefit in arching just drop your weight and train for what your goals are!

PS I do not like barbell incline I have only ever had success with DB but that is my 2 cents.

Sounds like you need to work on your back strength and form while pressing. You should keep your shoulder blades pinched together and your back muscles play an important role in stabilizing during this lift.

Two separate things: work on back and core strength, and keep your form in check. NEVER do that **** where you tilt to one side to try to push up the weight when you are struggling.
