USC covered both coasts today....yeah our teams.
And to think that my USC is only loosing 6 seniors this year. I smell a Pete Carroll dynasty.

Hi Baldie!! YAY!!! GOOOO USCs!!!!!!
I watched your team also. We didn't lose many seniors either -- six total. :D
Yesterday's game was so exciting!!! I can't express to you guys how happy I am that we beat Clem(p)son and don't have to listen to their silly asses talk down to us for an entire year!!!
GOOOO COCKS!!!!
I lost my voice screaming so much. We were in a box -- and by the way, I hate being in a box to watch football -- I want to be in the middle of it all!! Anyway, we were just cheering our team on and it was the first time we had visited our Clemson box in the three years we've had it. So, we were unwelcome Carolina fans in a Clempson box. Well, it was all fine and everyone was being nice. We didn't say anything obnoxious -- just cheered on our team. It was a nerve-wracking game to watch! We were down by 14 points due to stupid mistakes on our part. Brian was getting that defeated look. I, however, could just feel it. I thought this was our year. We were playing better on the offense -- 492 yards total offense and I just felt like we could come back and told Brian that. And we did!!!
Anyway, one of the men in our box started yelling at Brian. Brian didn't even hear him and I was glad, because Brian is kind of extreme when he gets going like that and the man was not being nice. Brian was just yelling about the game.
There was also a friend of our's, Tommy, sitting in front of us cheering for the Gamecocks the entire time. This chick in the box next to us started beating on the plexi-glass to get his attention. He glanced over and she flipped him the bird!! :D She did it around five times and Tommy is so nice! I poked my lower lip out at her like I was pouting and that really set her off. Britt knocked on the window to smile at her after the game, but she didn't want to play then. LOL
We left that game cheering all the way back to the car. What a blast!!
Hi yogs!! Thanksgiving was great!! My 24th anniversary is tomorrow and the Gamecocks gave me a nice present!!! :D
Hi Mike! I could go on and on about how much I enjoyed that game. I have all my car magnets on my oven hood in celebration right now. :)
Hi Greenie and M!!
Hi Marcos! I'm so glad I took this week off from lifting. My body has stopped aching and I'm feeling better in general. I'll be getting back at it tomorrow. I'm leaning toward one of Waterbury's Fat Loss workout plans.
Hi Lisa!
Hi Jason! I did. It's been a fantastic holiday!!
Hi widebody! I think I will do that for a little while in celebration of the Cocks!!
Okie dokes -- today is my last day of rest. I'm going to do cardio only and tomorrow, I'll get back at it.
Yesterday had to be one of my worst nutrition days ever. I did pretty well on Thanksgiving and then did the fast food thing yesterday as we traveled back and forth to Clemson, and I did the beer thing, and I did the wine thing, and I did the icecream thing. I say I'm not an emotional eater, but I guess the Gamecocks beating Clemson makes me eat and drink plenty!! LOL
Anyhoo, I have to see Pam on the 15th, so it's strict until then and we'll see if my bodyfat has gone down any. I figure this time period inbetween Pam visit's it's been like a roller coaster. Hopefully, I can get it in line enough where I register a lower reading than last time. :p
It's time to buckle down. I have a bit more than 12 weeks (I believe) to meet my goal. I haven't checked a calendar to count, but I know it's time to fly right.
I hope you guys have a glorious Sunday!! I'm going to watch ESPN highlights we taped and then the Steve Spurrier Show (to bask in the glory) and the Tommy Bowden Show (to watch his lower lip tremble.)
Be good!

Hi joed! Thank you for the sweet flowers and wishes! :)
Hi Hank! It was a great game!
LOL Hoosier!
Hi Eddie! LOL -- I didn't even know they kept track of how many friends people have. I don't even know how many friends I have. I'll have to go look at all of them and feel special. :D LOL!
Okie dokes -- I started Waterbury's Summer Project today. I know it's not summer, but whatever. :) Waterbury likes to torture people and if I ever meet him in person, he's going down. :D
Here's the fun:
Superset Roman Chair Squats with Reverse Crunches*he called for front squats, but seeing as I have a tendency to tweak my back on those suckers I took liberties with Mr. Waterbury's plan. There's a 60 second rest period between each superset.
Roman Chairs
6 reps holding 25lb plate X 4 sets
Reverse Crunches
6 reps X 4 sets *I didn't like doing 6 reps for an ab exercise
Superset Standing Alternating DB Shoulder Press with 1 Arm Dumbbell Rows*this kicked my bootay -- again a 60 second rest between each superset.
Standing Militaries*I've not done these one arm at a time much. Maybe once. Anyway, it makes it tougher for me. Plus, I tend to go down much lower in ROM.
6 reps each arm X 15lb dbs
6 reps each arm X 20lb dbs
6 reps each arm X 25lb dbs
6 reps each arm X 25lb dbs
One Arm DB Rows
6 reps each arm X 25lb db
6 reps each arm X 30lb db
6 reps each arm X 35lb db
6 reps each arm X 40lb db
Superset Bulgarian Split Squat Torture with Single Leg SLDL*60 second rest between supersets
Spawn of Satans
6 reps each leg holding 20lb dbs X 4 sets
Single Leg SLDLs
6 reps holding 25lb db
6 reps holding 30lb db
6 reps holding 30lb db
6 reps holding 35lb db
Superset Dips with DB External Rotations*I kept the rotations light. I am somewhere inbetween 5lb plates and 10lb plates. I guess I needed to have a 2.5lb platemate. :p
Dips
6 reps bodyweight X 4 sets
DB External Rotations
6 reps holding 5lb plates
6 reps holding 10lb plates*wasn't feeling real happy with how these felt
6 reps holding 5lb plates
6 reps holding 5lb plates
*At this point the workout was supposed to be over and I was feeling beat, but I didn't feel like I had done enough ab work.
Cable Crunches
40lbs X 15 reps X 3 sets *30 second rests
Ta-da!!

Hi widebody! Thanks about my avatar! I had to put it back up in honor of my Gamecocks. :) My back feels all better. It was more in the middle of my back -- rhomboids. I haven't had any of the spasms since about the middle of last week, so that's good.
That was a Chad Waterbury workout. He's crazy! LOL I'm going to try to stick with him for 8 weeks. That's how long his "Summer Project" workout lasts. Hopefully, I'll last. :D
Thanks, camchad! :) I met Brian when I was 14 and he was 15. We still get along great, so things are as they should be. I can't wait for grandbabies!

Ha,ha Hank! I was pretty positive until I did the Bulgarian Squats (aka, Spawn of Satans). :D I did notice while doing the workout that the week of rest made me feel much, much more energized. It must have been time to have one. :)
Hi dbx! We did get married on Thanksgiving weekend -- probably, much to everyone's dismay! :p It has worked out nicely for us because we always get a long weekend for our anniversary. :)
Morning everyone! Today is cardio only day -- yippee! Waterbury suggests HIIT cardio, but I've never had much success as far as fat loss is concern doing HIIT. I'm going to stick to Pam's plan for cardio. I'll do it later.
This morning, I'm going to relax, read the paper, and drink my java. Around 9:00a.m., I may be motivated to start Christmas decorating! Fun!!
I hope you guys have a wonderful day!
Oooh, and I woke up with a Hellacious sore throat today! It's starting to subside a bit with the hot coffee drinking. I'm hoping it's just mild allergies. I refuse to be sick the week after my week off! :D

Hi Hibs
Sorry to hear about your cold. I think I am getting the same thing, my daughter just went back to school after missing Mon-Tue with a fever, cold symptoms, etc. I think the whole south has the germ going around right now.
We fed exed my son's package to USC this morning, 2 days before the deadline. (that's a real accomplishment considering my son's procrastination habit).
If your son is interested in the HC at USC, I can give you the contact info for Ed Black, who is a young USC grad who works as a recruiter in the admissions office. He is a really nice kid.
Hibiscus09
11-29-2006, 07:10 AM
Thanks, Mike! :) I have allergies, not a cold. I'm not sure which is worse, but sometimes the allergies hang around longer. :p
I'm glad your son got his application out. Brian, Jr. has only expressed an interest in getting away from the conservative South so far. :D I figure if he scores well enough to get into USC's honors college, he'll definitely be heading elsewhere. Thanks, anyway! I hope your son is accepted and loves USC!

I attempted a workout, children, and boy did I suck. I actually only skipped one set of one exercise due to almost fainting :D , but I certainly did not lift as heavy as I usually do. I did, however, lift as heavy as I could today!! :D
Warmup
8 minutes on the elliptical
Today's workout called for 3 sets of 12 reps with a 70 second rest between supersets
SS Dumbbell Romanian Deads with Situps
Deads
12 reps holding 30lb dbs
12 reps holding 35lb dbs
12 reps holding 40lb dbs*dawning on me that I am actually not feeling well at all. :D My arms were aching like crazy just holding the dbs
Situps
12, 12, 12
SS Incline DB Bench Press with Standing Calve Raises
Inclines
12 reps X 30lb dbs*felt heavy!! I HATE allergies.
12 reps X 30lb dbs
12 reps X 30lb dbs
Calves
12 reps each holding 30lb db X 3 sets
SS Db Upright Rows with Stepups
Rows
12 reps holding 15lb dbs
12 reps holding 20lb dbs
12 reps holding 15lb dbs
Stepups
12 reps holding 15lb dbs
12 reps holding 20lb dbs*this is the superset where I got all pasty and thought I was a gonner. I thought it would be wise not to continue this exercise. :)
Superset DB External Rotations with DB Pullovers
Rotations
12 reps X 5lb plates X 3 sets
Pullovers
12 reps holding 20lb db
12 reps holding 25lb db
12 reps holding 30lb db
*That was all. It's a good thing that workout was easier than Monday's. As I was leaving the garage, Brian was leaving the house and said, "Honey, you're white as a sheet. Go rest!"
I'm going to rest now.
I'll visit your journals tomorrow when I'm, hopefully, feeling more alive.

Hiya Mark -- I just realized I missed you altogether earlier and I read what you said about your Broncos! :D I'm am so high today from allergy meds. :p That would be so cool if they make it to the Fiesta Bowl!
Do you have a preference -- Oklahoma or Nebraska?
I think both would be tough... but Nebraska seems to have been more inconsistent over the last few years. With either team we will have to play 100%.

Hi JD! Thanks for visiting! :) I'm so corroded right now. There's so much fluid in my nose, throat, and chest that I'm grossing me out. :p
Hi Mark! I'll pull for your team, regardless of who they play! Good luck! :)
I'm about to go sleepy. We just watched a Hallmark movie we had taped -- "Candles on Baystreet." I usually love Hallmark movies and this was the sappiest thing I'd ever seen. :D I was crying/laughing at the end -- *think hysterical* -- it was so goofy. Now, I'm stopped up worse than ever. :)
Sweet dreams!

Hi Melissa!
Okay, I know I must be looking bad now because Brian just asked, "Honey, is it okay if one of us sleeps in the guest bedroom?" Ha-ha. I think that means me since he's 6'3" tall and we have a California King bed in the master bedroom and a double bed in the guest bedroom. :p I guess I will sleep in there because I had to sleep sitting up last night and hacked all night long. Pooey! :p
I hope ya'll have all had a great day! I apologize for not dropping into too many threads to visit today. I slept most of the day and have been drugged up for all of the day.

Well, I've taken Clarinex D, Nasacort, Mucinex and was desperately looking for cough medicine while ago (we're out! :( ). I think I'd have been better off just skipping the prescribed and OTC drugs and just going for a bottle of wine. :D I'd best not be doing that now, however.

Well, I guess what I have has graduated into a bug. :p Little B has it now. Oops! I stayed up all night hacking/all stuffy. I wish the drugs would start fighting back a little. Maybe they are and I'd be dead if I weren't taking them. :D
I'm going to try and not let this defeat me as I was starting my new plan this week. Perhaps, I'll start over next week -- or just continue from where I left off. I don't think there's much chance of me lifting or doing cardio today. What do ya'll think? Start over or just pick up where I left off?
On an up note, I hope all of you have a very happy day!! I want snow. I see where lots of people are getting plenty of snow. Pooey. I hope we get snow this year.
Oh, and my youngest child (Brian, Jr.) is being inducted into the National Arts Honor Society on December 7th.
http://www.naea-reston.org/nahs.html
Awwww! I love that Brian takes after my father. He loves to read, is musically inclined and draws very well. :) He's also in the regular National Honor Society. To top it off, he looks and acts a lot like my brother who passed away when I was 21. He was my best friend. It's nice that God gave them both back to me in a way.
Brittany heads off today to go see her b-friend in Charleston and then, goes straight from there to here second week of Dealer School. I'm proud of her also. She's maturing so much. Heck, she's even buying us all Christmas gifts using her own money. :D LOL!

Hi Kris! Thank you! Dealer school classes are held every six weeks, lasting one week. It take's about a year to complete. Britt will go take classes next week covering a certain area of operating a car dealership (financials, parts, service, sales, etc). Then she will be given homework (projects) to do in the area that was covered. So, she comes home and works in that area for six weeks and then heads back.
Hi Nuc! I'm not feeling very sunshiney today. :p Hopefully, it will clear out of my body by the end of the weekend.

Sorry you are still so sick.
Be careful and don't over medicate.
I know it's easy to do so in trying to get rid of the yukkie symptoms you are experiencing. I know, I did it once myself and ended up hositalized from it.

Thanks, spitfire! :) I just hate it when it gets in my ears. My equilibrium is all messed up.
I forgot about a multi-vitamin. I'm so bad when I get sick. I don't feel like eating much of anything. I've gone from 125lbs to 122lbs in just a few days.
Hi Jason! Well, last night I only woke up three or four times and slept well otherwise. The night before, there was hardly any sleep so it was an improvement. Brian reminded me to take my Mucinex-DM last night (cough suppressant and expectorant (yuck! LOL)) and it helped me not to cough.
I'm tired of hearing myself whining. I feel like by Monday I'll be okay.
Thanks, Lisa! I hate allergies! In 2003 and 2004 I had them so bad that they lasted a month long and I had to take a couple rounds of antibiotics and prednisone to knock the ear infection out that resulted. It's not going to happen this time. I'm willing the cooties out of my system. ;)
Hi yogs! I'm pretty sure it's allergies. They make me feel sicker than a cold because they usually last longer. I remember the day this all started, I sneezed all day long.
Hi Melissa! Thank you!
Alrighty, enough of the crud talk.
On an upnote, my camellias are blooming and they are just beautiful! They're a real pretty light pink. I always want to cut a bunch of them and bring them in, but then I don't as I don't want to cut the pretty flowers off the bushes because I'm killing them.
Today is the Southeastern Conference Championship between Arkansas and Florida. I can't decide who to cheer on and I need to before the game. We play both teams each year. Arkansas has the best running back duo I've seen this year -- McFadden and Jones (I believe). It's fun to watch them do their thing. They were the toughest team, IMO, we've played this season. Florida has looked decent to me this year and I think if they get their passing game going, they may do well against Arkansas. Decisions, decisions. I may be leaning towards Arkansas.
I believe Oklahoma and Nebraska play today and the winner of that game will be playing against JTs Broncos.
Now, they've had a fun season! :)
http://www.broncosports.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=9900&KEY=&SPID=4061&SPSID=48555
I can't think of anything else to blab about.
Oh, we watched Houston and Southern Mississippi play last night. I believe we'll get Houston (they won the game) at the Liberty Bowl.
On another note:
It's 7:35a.m. on a Saturday morning and little B just headed out to take his SAT. Fun!
I hope ya'll have a wonderful today. Today is my cheat meal day and considering I've lost several pounds, I suppose I'll cheat. I feel like I've been cheating by not eating, but it's hard to eat when you can't breathe.
This will sound gross, but I'm actually craving a Dijiorno's Harvest Wheat Pizza. :D
http://www.kraftfoods.com/main.aspx?s=product&m=product/Product_display&Site=1&Product=7192101267
Now, if that list of ingredients won't kill me, I don't know what will. :p Perhaps the craving is a sign I'm getting better. I haven't been thinking of food until this morning.
Be good and Happy Saturday!!

12-02-2006, 05:13 AM
Well, I just looked at my family's web page and my sister, Paula, posted this:
Diane, I've had the sinus crud all week. Stayed home from work for two days. Been taking Zertec each night and the doctor called me in some Flonase today. Feeling better now that I have the nasal spray....have had a headache for a week. Maybe next week when the weather cools things will be better...good luck.
It's a family malady! ;) I suppose that confirms my allergy suspicions.
By the way, having a family web page on myfamily.com is such a nice thing. Since there are 14 children in my family, it's been a very nice way for us to touch base with each other frequently, share photos, etc. :)

Ha,ha Kris -- I worded that incorrectly. By "get" -- I meant I believe they are the team we will be playing. I don't think they have announced who is playing who officially. :) I do, however, hope we win the game! :D
Did you go there?
Oh, and yes I've tried Flonase. I like it best. The last doctor I saw prescribed Nasacort, but next time I'll tell him to prescribe Flonase. :p

Hi Marcos! No excuses being made. If you want to find excuses in my journal, just look for any reason I give as to why I let myself drink wine! :D I just don't workout when I'm this sick. I looked in the mirror today and scared myself. :D Dark, dark circles under my eyes. Brian is looking at me a little worried also. I figure, hopefully (crossing my fingers), I'll be better by Monday and able to get back at it.
Hi MarkY! Thanks sweetie! If it isn't out of here by the beginning of next week, I'll go find a doctor and some antibiotics.
Okay, going to go watch football for the rest of the day! Ya'll be good!

Yay -- started seeing light at the end of the tunnel from about lunchtime forward. I don't feel great, but a lot better than I was feeling. I can breathe and some of the pressure on my ears and head is letting up. Keep your fingers crossed and maybe by Monday I'll be in working out shape again. :D
I enjoyed all the football today. I watched Wake and GT play, then USC and UCLA, some of the Rutgers game (flipping back and forth) and mostly tonight, Florida and Arkansas. I kind of wanted Arkansas to win, but I knew if Florida was able to stop their rush that they would probably pass all over them. It was an exciting game and both teams played well. Now, I guess it's a toss up between Florida or Michigan against Ohio State. I say Ohio State wins it all. :)
Nighty night. I hope ya'll have sweet dreams!

Morning, Barb! Better. Still a little congested and a little weak, but nothing like I was for a couple of those days. I'm going to workout tomorrow, regardless. I'll probably just have to take longer breaks to catch my breath. :p Thanks for asking!
Hi MarkY! I think one of those schools further south was offering him a million more. He's made it pretty clear from Day 1 that he wasn't going anywhere. They just keep trying and trying. I guess you can't blame them for trying. :) He had just moved his daughter here and her kiddies had just registered into local schools. I think he's planning on staying.

Hi ms_mac! Thank you!
Hi Chris!
Hi Hank! It's chilly here, but not that cold. Brittany said it was 7 degrees where she's at this morning. She was not happy. :p
Hi Mike! "Better" is relative. I feel better than "totally like crap," but that's all I have to say. :p
Oh, yeah -- I want to post pics when I've been about to die and take stats when I took a week off and then was sick for a week. I'll get right on that. ;)
Hi Barb! Thanks! I didn't enjoy it. :)
Hi Josh! I've been wondering what you've been up to. :)
Hi Josie! Ha -- I'd better stay away from the chocolate. I have to go see Pam on the 15th and it isn't looking good for the home team.
Okie dokes -- I decided to just start back where I left off instead of starting over. Today's workout on the schedule was a circuit type workout doing as many reps as possible for 2 minutes with a 90s rest between exercises. Whatever. I was winded walking out into the garage! LOL
I gave it a go with my own adaptations, as usual. I decided to go for 50 rep sets as I don't have a clock to watch while doing a set. I suppose I should get one with a second hand to hang in my gym. I normally rely on a watch I have hooked to my elliptical.
Anyhoo:
Warmup 5 minutes on the elliptical*Totally winded me and I was hacking something awful.
A1 BB Deadlift (I don't do deadlifts -- they thicken my waistline -- decided to do SLDLs as I would rather hit hamstrings anyway.)
so,
A1 SLDL
Set 1: 25lb dbs X 50 reps
Set 2: the same
Set 3: the same
A2 Pushups (Whatever -- I can't do pushups for 2 minutes!)
A2 Incline DB Bench Press
Set 1: 15lb dbs X 50r *that felt like it was tiring out my arms more than working my chest
Set 2: 20lb dbs X 25r *felt more like a chest workout
Set 3: 20lb dbs X 25r
A3 Back Squat *not happening today, boys & girls!
A3 Leg Press*figured that at least if I fainted, I wouldn't fall on the floor and bust my head open. LOL
Set 1: 200lbs X 25 reps *almost quit the whole workout here. I just wasn't feeling well at all and my heartrate was at 200bpm. That's high for me.
Set 2: 200lbs X 25 reps *that's all I could take of those today
A4 Lat Pulldowns*Yay, actually did an exercise that was suggested. :p
Set 1: 40lbs X 50 reps*felt like I could raise that a bit
Set 2: 50lbs X 50 reps
Set 3: 50lb X 50 reps
Okay, well that felt like a hard workout to me and the only thing worse than how I felt is how that person staring back at me from the mirror looked!
I did it and that's all I have to say about that. Hope ya'll have a glorious day!

Those are crazy reps. That's why I stay away from aerobics classes. They always try to throw in about 100 reps with 8 lb weights. I can't do it and it's bad on my ego.

Were you half joking about the 200 bpm?

Hi Hibs,
Hope you're over it now. I was in Las Vegas for 3 days, and I felt like crap the whole time. I had fun anyway, but it could have been a lot funner (is that a real word?).
I hope they don't take away the out of state student scholarships to pay Spurrier's raise (lol).

Morning, Mike! :) Cool about the new jacket. I need to figure out what I want for Christmas. I've ordered/bought everyone else's gifts, but they are getting impatient for me to turn over my list.
Hi Barb! Still kicking! :) I am quite sore today and that surprised me. I always feel like I'm not getting a good workout when I have a bad attitude, but I guess I kicked my butt despire the sorry attitude! :D
Hi scienceteacher! :) I am mostly better, but both ears are stuffy. I hate that!
Hi Hank! I always have energy for shopping. ;)
Hi Kris! A little better each day!
Hi Marcos! Not quite in my happy place yet, but functioning again. LOL
Hiya widebody! I was just doing what crazy Waterbury boy had on the list.
Hi JD! Thank you!
LOL, GF! I have nothing against deadlifts, I just did them heavy for quite a while and didn't like the resulting changes to my physqiue. ;)
Hi SV! I'm sure it was the meds. (Well, and the fact that I couldn't breathe well.)
Hi again Kris -- nope, no puking thank God!
Hi Bob! Sorry you have a cold.
Hi Mike! It seems to be going around. I'm glad you still had fun in Vegas. I'm glad they gave Spurrier a raise. He needed to be in line with other top college football coaches' salaries. USC has money coming out of their behinds, apparently. I think your son's scholly money is safe.
Hi Jason -- no, I wasn't joking, but I'm sure it's all these allergy meds. I stopped doing the leg presses for that reason. No need killing myself.
Hi sciencetecher! Smart idea about the Lysol. Thanks about Spurrier!
Hi Ray -- thank you!
Hi Paul and Rosanne! Thanks -- I won't push it too hard.
Hi Hoosier! I need to watch that movie again. I haven't seen it in quite a while.
Hi Leah! I don't always do reps like that. I'm following a Waterbury plan and trying to stick to what he says to do. I much, much prefer lower reps and heavy weight.
Ha,ha jspirate. I stole that line!
Hi Chris! Thank you!
Hi Mark! I'll be sure to keep up with your team on the 1st! Shhhh, don't tell Mike, but I'm rooting for your team. LOL I think it's so cool they've made it into the Fiesta Bowl!
Wowzers, that was a lot of people/replies.
Good morning all! I'm sore from yesterday's workout already. It's a funny thing, but I've noticed when I do high rep workouts, I get sore almost immediately and the next day and then it's gone. With low reps/heavy weight, I'm not sore the next day but get sore the following day. Hmmmm. Weird.
My ears are completely stuffed up. It's sooooo annoying. My nose is clear as long as I take my drugs. I don't like the drugs because I feel dehydrated no matter how much water I drink. I'm not taking creatine while on these drugs. That's it for the whining today.
I'm going to go shopping for some new stuff for my Christmas decorations and then do cardio this afternoon.
I hope everyone has a glorious day!

Alrighty, I just turned in 40 minutes on the elliptical. I'm going to try to do that every day until I see Pam, so she won't go into shock over my bodyfat %. :D
I had the cold sweat thing going on like I generally do when working out ill, but other than that it was fine. The allergy meds hype me up and it's like taking ephedra to do my cardio. I'll take the extra energy burst at the moment quite gladly. :)

Cheers for ephedra!!! It takes a valid ID and 20 minutes in line to buy cold remedies in Ohio now. I guess the workout rush is a nice added feature that I hadn't considered. Some where out there my name is on a list of cold med users that is being reviewed by the goverment.:)

Morning, Hibs. Ephedra?! The real deal? Lucky...
When do you see Pam again?
Hibiscus09
12-06-2006, 04:03 PM
Hi Kris! No ephedra. Heck, I can barely take a Lipo6 without having a heart attack. When I was younger, I could take the ephedra supps but by my late 30s every time I tried I would end up on the gym floor about to pass out. Pooey! I loved that rush back when I could take things like that. :p
I see Pam again on the 15th, at which time she will say "You Suck!" and send me back to the drawing board hoping I'll actually do what she tells me. It's hard to get anywhere cheating on Thanksgiving and an anniversary, taking a week off and then, getting sick. Pooey again! :D
Hi Chris! My Wednesday has been fine. I felt real low energy and blah again today, so I spent most of the day making bows -- lots and lots of bows -- for my stairway garland. They're purty. I also re-decorated my front door wreaths so they match the stairway garland.
Oooh, and I hate that damn 60 second rule also. It's so irritating. I'm a fast girl and that slows me down. :p
Hi Barb! I'm always sassy. :D
Awww, thanks scienceteacher! Still better than I was, but still not feeling fantastic. I like feeling fantastic! :)
Hi Ray! Thank you! I sure hope it does too, but I'm kind of doubting it.
Hi Hank! Ha,ha about the Sudafed. There are people that use it for that. There was an article in the paper today about kids abusing cough syrup:
Teen cough medicine abuse sees sharp rise
SAN JOSE, Calif. — Kids call it robo-tripping or skittling — downing high doses of cough syrup or pills to get high off dextromethorphan, a cough suppressant commonly found in over-the-counter medicines.
A new study concludes that robo-tripping is sharply on the rise among teens. Calls to the California Poison Control System’s 24-hour hot line involving teen abuse of the ingredient ballooned by 15 times over six years.
In large doses, dextromethorphan can cause euphoria and hallucinations, part of the “high” teens describe on Internet sites promoting the drug known as DXM, CCC, Triple C, Skittles and Robo. It also can result in seizures, vomiting, dangerous spikes in blood pressure or body temperature and psychosis, and fatal overdoses have been reported.
I've never heard of such. I'm just not keeping up.
Okay guys and gals, I felt low energy all day today and finally did 40 minutes of cardio tonight. That made me just feel kind of dizzy so I'm glad I didn't attempt the hard workout on my schedule for today.
I'll do the lifting workout tomorrow and probably skip cardio.
Ya'll have a wonderful evening!

Okay, today's workout said to repeat Day 1 and to increase the duration of each set by 10 seconds (whatever). LOL I decided just to add 2 reps to each set and sometimes weight also -- depending on how I was feeling.
Superset Roman Chair Squats with Reverse Crunches* There's a 60 second rest period between each superset.
Roman Chairs
8 reps holding 15 lb dbs (30lbs) X 4 sets
Reverse Crunches
Did 6 reps last time. This time:
10 reps X 4 sets
Superset Standing Alternating DB Shoulder Press with 1 Arm Dumbbell Rows*60 second rest. I was getting a little winded at the end of these.
Standing Militaries
8 reps each arm X 15lb dbs
8 reps each arm X 20lb dbs
8 reps each arm X 25lb dbs
7 reps each arm X 25lb dbs
One Arm DB Rows
8 reps each arm X 25lb db
8 reps each arm X 30lb db
8 reps each arm X 35lb db
8 reps each arm X 40lb db
Superset Bulgarian Split Squat Torture with Single Leg SLDL*Supposed to be 60 second rest between supersets, but the last two supersets were more like a minute 15 seconds. I was feeling queasy and couldn't catch my breath.
Spawn of Satans (Bulgarians)
8 reps each leg holding 20lb dbs X 4 sets
Single Leg SLDLs
8 reps holding 25lb db
8 reps holding 30lb db
8 reps holding 35lb db (up from 6 @ 30 last week)
8 reps holding 35lb db
Superset Dips with DB External Rotations*I tried dips, but just felt too weak to do them. Waterbury gives the option to do decline db presses instead, so I went with that option. Why I thought it was a good idea to put my head at a decline is beyond me. :p
Declines
8 reps X 4 sets X 20lb dbs*I could normally go heavier, but I was not feeling particularly strong.
DB External Rotations*even with these teenie weights, these things burn my shoulders like crazy!
8 reps holding 5lb plates
8 reps holding 5lb plates
8 reps holding 5lb plates
8 reps holding 5lb plates
That was it! At least I made it through it. Yippee!

Thanks about me feeling better and about Brian, Jr.
Ummm, I always have the Cocks on my mind. :) I cheer for them in the off season also. We just landed a hottie 4-star QB prospect. Too bad I'm not a youngin! :p

As for NFL action, my Steelers are picking up so that's a good thing but I don't know whether they'll make the playoffs. Brian's 'Boys are doing well also, so if the Steelers don't make it -- they're my team.
Hi Hank! Thank you, sweetie! I am feeling it today. I make fun of Waterbury boy, but he is kicking my tail with these workouts. Most especially today, my back, abs, glutes and hammies are feeling it bigtime.
Hi scienceteacher. Well, it's swollen and just starting to get a purple tint to it. :D
Hi Lisa!! Yum!!!!!! Come on down!!
Okay, Brian, Jr.'s National Art Honor Society induction was last night. It was soooo funny! They let the kids plan and execute the ceremony and it lasted 10 minutes tops. I think they should start letting the kids plan and implement all of the school ceremonies. :p They were really cute/sweet and said the pledge, lit primary colored candles & then, handed the kids their certificates. Little B was looking very stylish as his blue hair matched his blue shirt. LOL
We were able to take a tour down the hall where they had hung all the student artwork. It's amazing what they can do.
On today's agenda is getting our Christmas tree put up and decorated. I also need to run by the store to get some silver paint (for my reindeer) and a few other silver things to make the tree tie in with the rest of the decorations.
Planned exercise today is 40 minutes on the elliptical.

My army of boys begin arriving home Tuesday of next week and they eat 7 or 8 meals a day. Hope you are all set for the Holidays down South. Have a great weekend Hibbs!

Hi Paul! I am feeling a bit better each day, thank you! I'll stay a bit stuffy for a while, but at least I'm not feeling sick anymore. :)
Hi Hank! Well, when I typed "you guys are going to have a tough row to how with Ohio State. " I meant "hoe" not "how" :D , obviously, but this silly system won't let you edit the next day. I'm thinking Ohio State will win that game, but what do I know? :p
How many boys do you have and are they coming home from school somewhere? I am almost set for the holidays. I need to decorate my tree this weekend. Brian brought a tree home yesterday and it looks very pretty. I'll be glad when I can smell it! Brian says it smells real nice. I have most of my shopping done, thank goodness, and it's mostly been done online. Yay!
Good morning, everyone! I slept until 10:20 -- double Yay! I'm going to lift and do cardio in the early afternoon and tonight we're going to the movies and out to eat.
I hope ya'll have a great Saturday!!

Wow, that is awesome! I can't recall the last time I slept that late.
Have a great time at the movies and eating out. My wife and I got a baby sitter and are doing something very similar. We don't do it very often and we are both looking forward to it.
What movie are you gonna see? If you are a Bond fan I can recommend Casino Royal :)

Morning, jspirate! I've seen Casino Royale and really liked it. :) I can't remember the name of the movie, but we're going to see the movie with Will Farrell and Emma Thompson where she's an author writing a book about him and he's hearing her narration in his head.
Are you guys going to the movies? Glad you have a sitter and get the opportunity for a date.

Thanks, Bob! You too! Is it cold there? It must be. It's freezing-A cold here! :p
It was the coldest day we've had so far yesterday and very windy. I don't mind the cold if it stays cold. It keeps getting warm and cold. It's hard to get used to anything.

Hi Bob! It's beautiful outside today. Sunny, but nice and brisk!
Hi Josie! I remember having tears roll down my face at times as I fed Brittany in the middle of the night. I was soooo tired! I hope you're able to get some rest in!
Okie dokes -- I just walked for about an hour and 10 minutes with Brian in the hood. It felt great! I'm going to eat and then lift in a bit.

Okay -- today's workout was a repeat of my workout on 11/29th so I'm cutting and pasting that workout and I'll put what I did today in parentheses.
The workout called for 3 sets of 12 reps with a 70 second rest between supersets. Today was supposed to be the same but with 5 seconds less rep. I switched it to 10 seconds less and also increased reps or weights or both on the exercises.
SS Dumbbell Romanian Deads with Situps
Deads
12 reps holding 30lb dbs (12 reps holding 35lb dbs)
12 reps holding 35lb dbs (holding 40lb dbs)
12 reps holding 40lb dbs (holding 45lb dbs)
Situps
12, 12, 12 (15, 15, 15)
SS Incline DB Bench Press with Standing Calve Raises
Inclines
12 reps X 30lb dbs (15 reps)
12 reps X 30lb dbs (15 reps)
12 reps X 30lb dbs (15 reps) *Wowzers, barely got rep #15 out. Those were tough on an old lady.
Calves*switched these to seated calve raises for this week and held dumbbell on my knee.
12 reps each holding 30lb db X 3 sets (15 reps each leg using 35, 40 & 45lb dbs)
SS Db Upright Rows with Stepups
Rows
12 reps holding 15lb dbs (15 reps holding 15lb dbs)
12 reps holding 20lb dbs (15 reps holding 20lb dbs)
12 reps holding 15lb dbs (15 reps holding 20lb dbs)
Stepups *I can definitely tell I was sick from looking at last week's performance. :p
12 reps holding 15lb dbs (12 reps holding 25lb dbs)
12 reps holding 20lb dbs (12 reps holding 25lb dbs)
(another set @ 12 reps holding 25lb dbs)
Superset DB External Rotations with DB Pullovers
Rotations
12 reps X 5lb plates X 3 sets (15 reps X 5lb paltes X 3 sets)
Pullovers
12 reps holding 20lb db (12 reps holding 25lb db)
12 reps holding 25lb db (12 reps holding 30lb db)
12 reps holding 30lb db (12 reps holding 35lb db)
*Overall it felt like a strong workout and I was definitely doing better than last week.
Voila!! Now, I'm going to nap until time to get ready for the movies. :D
Oh, and these workouts (Waterbury's) have really been keeping my bootay, hip area, back and abs sore almost constantly. Especially my bootay and hip. Hope they're keeping my big bootay perky!

Solid workout.
(I don't usually hear "perky" in connection with bootay, it's usually another body part).

Hi jspirate!
I've been a slug today. I watched "Family Man" this morning and have been watching "Gladiator" this afternoon. I'm about to go finish watching it.
I really liked "Stranger than Fiction" and Brian said it was good, but not great. He was expecting a hilarious funny movie and it was more a sensitive/funny movie. He may have thought it was a "chick flick." :)
Hope you guys are doing great! I've done all my cardios and lifting for this week. I considered doing cardio today, but based on the fact that I'm still lazing around watching movies -- I'm kind of doubting I'll find the motivation. :D
Be good!

Hola mis amigos! :)
I'll be back shortly to respond to my journal visitors. Just dropped in to say I'm 12 weeks out today from goal date, so it's time to reform. Ewwwww! :D ;)
I'm going to begin three thirty minute pre-breakfast cardio sessions a week (in addition to my other three thirty minute sessions later in the day) and am about to head out there for my morning torture. Drinking drugs right now -- praying for energy. :p
Be back in just a bit. . . .

Okie dokes -- I'm back. :)
I did 20 minutes pre-breakfast cardio as opposed to 30 as I was figuring out a 12 week schedule in my mind as I did the elliptical this morning. I've typed and saved it in Microsoft Word and am ready to implement the torture.
This week is 20 minutes 3X a week pre-breakfast and 30 minutes 3X a week in the afternoon. Prebreakfast = 120bpm, afternoon = 140 to 150bpm. Fun, fun!
My workout today is the awful high rep day. Luckily, next week the routine switches up and it's a good thing because I get bored quickly. :D I'll do it in the afternoon.
Hi joed! I was definitely growing more and more relaxed as the day went on yesterday.
Hi GF! Congrats on the new equipment!
Hi Barb! Thanks! I hope your Sunday was great!
Hi Kevin! Russell Crowe is so sexy in that movie. Yum!!! Miracle on 34th Street is one of my favorite movies. I don't know which version you mean by the date, but my favorite is with Natalie Wood.
Hi Bob! I enjoyed the relaxing day!
Hi Ed! Hope you're doing well!
Hi Mike! Thank you! I hope your week is great!
Jkeith!!!!
Hi Hank! I'm envious. I'm almost done!
Peter, Peter -- don't call people names! LOL
Thank you for that, powerman. ;)
Hi again, Barb! Hell no, I'm not where I should be right now. :p After Thanksgiving and the anniversary and a week off, then allergies -- I sucketh!! I'm getting my act together now and have 12 weeks to get to 13%. Plenty of time and it can be done if I behave. ;)
Happy Monday, Miranda! Yep, it sucks.
Hi scienceteacher! Good luck with that. I've tried it and it doesn't work very well. LOL
Hi Hoosier! When I worked at the law firm, I couldn't believe how long some of their conference calls lasted. It looked like a form of torture to me.
Ya'll all have a great Monday!!
I'm going to clean house, finish putting ornaments on the tree, go get at turkey sandwich for lunch with my sweetie and Brittany, go to the Mall to get my niece's Christmas gift, and workout this afternoon.
Be good!

I came across the fat free half and hal;f at the store the other day. Had no idea such a thing existed!. It *might* actually make it possible to make a healthy-ish egg nog. Though I still insist on whole eggs - the yolks are really what makes the drink so rich.

I think it's funny that they call it fat free half and half. Half and half by it's very definition has fat because it is cream.
It's like calling splenda sugar free sugar!

Hi IV!
So, I haven't put a single ornament on my tree today (although I did put some on it yesterday). I'm sitting here eating meal #2 (chicken breast, an Italian veggie blend -- green beans, broccoli, lima beans, cauliflower, zuchinni and red peppers -- and olive oil) and also looking at a new outfit I want to order. I hope Brian's wallet isn't twitching. :D
