Yep, it does. This stuff does me in when it gets in my sinuses and stops up my ears. I don't get it that often, however, so knock on wood. I'm starting to feel much better.

Hiya guys. I sound like a broken record here. I'm starting my new plan on Monday. I was going to get back to exercising today, but I just still feel funny/dizzy/nauseated and I know it's because this stuff is in my ears.

I had to go to the nunu doctor today and just getting dressed and going there and coming back home seemed to wear me out and I looked all pasty. I guess I'm meant to rest this week (and half of last week! LOL) Oh well.......

Someone will be sore next week. Fun, fun.

Wow! :( I'm fortunate that I don't suffer allergies, etc. - at least for a while. For a couple of years I was getting sick constantly, allergies I think. Suddenly, it stopped. I get a cold/flu just a couple times a year now.

I've been busy, busy, busy!!

I've decorated -- mostly -- made really pretty wreaths for my front door. I can't find the dang hangers, however.

I have a Christmas tree up now. Woohoo!

I ordered a few cute Christmas stockings for my visitors this Christmas (my sister, her hubby and Britt's fiance) and had them personalized with their names. I liked them so much I wanted to get four for us too as we need new stockings. Unfortunately, I wanted ivory for the women, red for the men and green for the kiddies. They're out of ivory. *sniff, sniff* I only needed one, dangit. Such a life tragedy. LOL

I ordered a cocktail dress for Britt's engagement party. It was quite pretty on the hanger, but when I put it on the pleats were funny on the sides and it looks like if I flapped my arms I could take off in the air like a hot air balloon. Brittany said it's called a "bag" dress. I don't want to look like the bag lady. It was silver, so I kind of look like a Mylar balloon in it. Isn't that special?

That's all.

I'm still doing Christmas stuff.

The doctor said I should be feeling much better by Monday. Whatever.

Hi! I am feeling a bit better today. Thank goodness! This evening, I almost feel like myself.

It is so hard to find pretty dresses anymore, you know? I should have become a dress designer. Lately, half of them look like clown dresses and the clown dress makers ask for a lot for those get ups. No thank you....... :p

So, we watched a kind of funny movie tonight. It was one of those dumb movies, however, with way too much profanity. It's probably not a movie I would have selected...... :p

I finished my book -- The Time Traveler's Wife -- it was very good -- and I have to start a new book now..... I'll figure that out tomorrow.

The last few weeks have been sort of weird for me, but I won't get into it too much because it will be an overshare.

I feel like I'm rediscovering simple things like the fact that I'm responsible for my own happiness and for making sure I'm a productive citizen in the world. I've really been a whiney do nothing butt lately. I guess it's that time of year where people think about those types of things. I do feel like I'm going to be on the right track for next year.

It's time to prioritize and recognize what really matters and also to understand who my real friends are in life.

Gheez -- I'm in my mid-40s and still thinking those thoughts......when does it all come together? :p

Morning, everyone! I'm feeling like myself again -- thank goodness!!! I finished all my Christmas decorating yesterday, except for decorating the tree -- but it's up at least! I love the smell of a fresh Christmas tree. I'm still having to put my nose right on top of things and sniff to smell, but hey -- I can smell a little bit!

I start my new plan tomorrow that a good friend is helping me to do. The nutrition part is pretty basic -- and it's always stuff I can figure out on my own -- but for some reason I do better with someone measuring me and telling me what to do.

Through New Year's, I'm going to stick with a three day a week lifting program. I'm too busy, busy, busy to do otherwise. I'll be doing cardio (*gasp*) 40 minutes four mornings a week -- prebreakfast -- at low intensity -- and post workout at higher intensity three sessions a week.

The lady helping me will change my plan up every two weeks as needed.

That's about it in a nutshell other than green tea, vities, BCAAs, etc......

I have tons to do this week, so I won't be posting much. Britt has her holiday engagement party and I have to throw all of that together. Fun, fun!

Oh, and here's the two dresses I ordered. If neither of those workout, maybe I'll just dress up as Cocky and wear a jingle bell around my neck or something. :D

That happend to us a lot the year we had young cats in the house. One of them liked to climb half-way up the trunk of the tree and then jump straight out onto the couch. The cat would go one way and the tree would go the other. We lost a lot of ornaments till they were all broken and then we didn't lose anymore. :)

Thats too funny about the tree. The same thing happened to me TODAY! Broken glass everywhere. But I don't care about that stuff, my fav ornament is one Blaine made when she was in kindergarten. Its a picture of her wearing a Santa hat and the pic is framed in a doillie(sp?) and has red and greens stars glued to the frame. It is so sweet. That one was safe, so its all good.

I am sick of Drive By Inappropriate Man. He's walking on a thin line with me right now as PMS is approaching.

Ha,ha about the tree. I think the tree just has such a narrow trunk that doesn't support how tall the tree is (without the roots to help it along). The base of the stand just isn't wide enough to support it. It's still making creaking noises. I expect another crash at any time. LOL

Wowzers -- we have crashing trees in common. Woohoo! LOL None of the ornaments my kids have made me are breakable either, so that's a good thing.

My new nutrition plan for the first couple of weeks is a 40%P/35%C/25%F split. It's going well so far. It feels good to be eating healthy again.

Shrimp trays with cocktail sauce
chicken strips
pinwheels (sandwiches with Boar's Head Ham & stuff)
mini quiches
spinach dip w/crackers
veggie trays
fruit tray
mini cheese cakes
monogrammed petit fours

We may also make cocktail weenies and do meatballs

We'll have chardonnay and cabernet, holiday punch & mulled apple cider

I think that's it.......

We're decorating Thursday.

I called a caterer to do the party, but went into shock over the quote for hot hors d'oeuvres -- they wanted $42 per person for 48 people -- :eek: -- and that was without the alcohol. I just thought that was crazy. Maybe I'm a tight wad. LOL I figured I'd put it together myself with the help of the local grocery store, fresh market and liquor store.

So, I went to the gym today and trained with Matt. We did:

Warmup 7 minutes on the Stairmonster

Warmup sets on Extensions and Hamstring Curl

Sets of many Squats -- I wasn't counting -- just praying

Supersets -- Leg Presses and Extensions

Supersets -- SLDLs and Ham Glute Raises on a bench

I was about 40 minutes into the workout at that point and felt faint/ill again. It's weird -- its' like the medicine has cleared up my nostrils so I can breathe, but when I breathe it feels like I'm not getting in enough air and I'm getting winded and overheated. Maybe it the meds and maybe stuff is still swollen up inside of me causing me not to get air as well as I normally do. Maybe I'm a whiney butt.

Anyhoo, at least we got 40 minutes of a workout done. :p It felt like a pretty hard workout until I got ill and my leg definitely feel like they've had a workout. Poor Matt -- at least he won't have to put up with sicko/fainto again until next Wednesday!

I didn't do post workout cardio as I was green and pasty looking and feeling. I'll do another prebreakfast session on Saturday or Sunday to repent.

I know, Tiffany! I know we did at least five sets on the squats and on the leg presses. I think what is getting me is that he loads up the squat bar to 115lbs, but makes me do 20 reps over and over. It isn't very easy to do!! He keeps saying, "lower...." and I'm thinking, well why don't I just sit on the floor? Maybe it will make me stronger for the when we go heavier/less rep times. (Me praying there will be those times!!) He did say at the end when I was laid out on a bench yet again feeling queasy and faint that perhaps we should go slower next time. Ya think?

Matt really is a sweetie. He said he always gets very nauseated on leg day. I told him that was because he doesn't rest ANY between sets. LOL I'm used to getting nauseated on leg day, but I don't plan on fainting every time out!!

Morning, Abe! I don't know -- toasters are pretty fancy nowadays. LOL

These training sessions are hour sessions! I don't mind boom, boom and supersetting at times, but sometimes I want to do lower reps and go a bit heavier. I'll never make it to the entire hour. ha,ha

Oh well. What do I know? I think I'll keep letting Matt torture me however he likes. I've been doing the same old, same old forever. Maybe his plan will shock my body. When I was almost fainting yesterday Matt asked, "Can I get you anything?" I said a doctor would be nice.

So, I ran so many errands today and I'm totally worn out. We went by the mall because Britt needed a shirt and I needed some stockings to go with my dress. Then we headed over to the Chick-Fil-A to order some chicken strips. Next, we went to Sam's Club and stood in line for about 30 minutes so we could join. Then we went through Sam's Club and bought a bunch of food items and a case of white and red wine, plus a ton of beer. Next, we drove all the stuff to the Condo and I had to haul it in. Now, as pretty as Brittany is -- she's not strong at all so I was the one left toting the cases of wine and it was not a short walk! It wore me out. After that, we decorated the condo, put up all the food and set out trays and stuff. Finally, we headed to Bella Vista Bridal to pick up fabric swatches.

Good grief! I am exhausted! Brittany really knows how to wear her momma out. LOL

I was in a great mood today and had a lot of fun hanging out with Brittany. It's kind of neat doing all this stuff together.

Tomorrow, we have more stuff to do -- picking up more stuff, meeting with the florist for her wedding, etc. At some point, I need to exercise and I would really like to be able to get my toes and nails done for the party, but I don't know if I'll have time. Maybe I can fit in a spray tanning in the morning before we go meet with the florist.

Legs are still sore. The walk helped while I was walking (LOL), but the minute I sit for any period of time they stiffen up like crazy and are sore, sore, sore.

I didn't get to workout today. We just got home at 6:00 and I'm exhausted. We've been running around doing stuff all day. Tomorrow, I'll have to pick up food and get it to the condo -- I have to run by three places for that and one is a ways away. Then, at the condo I need to get mulled apple cider going, bake mini quiches and get the large thing of coffee going. I don't know what else. I'm going bonkers. LOL

I also have to look pretty! On an upnote, I did find time to go get in the Mystic booth so I won't be a whitey.

Hi! Thanks for asking. Yep, I'm feeling recovered now. I had all intentions of doing my missed workout yesterday, but instead I went to a Christmas cantata yesterday morning, slept for quite a while and then went to see "I am Legend" with my family.

The Christmas cantata was at the church where I grew up and got married. All the members are elderly and the entire choir (17 members) looked to be over 70 years old. They were so sweet and did a wonderful job!! It was a real blessing.

The movie was not very good. :p

I'm back on track now and about to head out for a pre-breakfast walk in the hood.

Thanks, Kevin! I love Will Smith. :p I read the book -- which I thought was a bit slow -- but okay. I think it bothered me that the movie deviated so much from the book. Maybe if you haven't read the book you'll enjoy the movie more. :p

Warmup for 5 minutes on the stairmonster

I worked out with Matt -- and we did shoulders/hamstrings/calves. I don't remember #s -- just know that it's a lot of weight and lots of reps -- ha,ha. He only made me feel pukey once today and I sat for a while and it went away.

I don't think I can remember everything we did:

Military presses -- tons of reps -- up to 30lb dbs
more Military presses -- partial reps -- I guess from the top down about 1/2 what I normally do and back up -- those were hard
Straight Leg Deadlifts -- a bazillion -- beats me how much weight -- I think we went up to 125lbs
Side raises -- both with a crook in the elbow and more sets with straight arms -- at least six sets -- I can't remember
These rear delt crossover thingies on the cables
Free weight ham glute raises
double leg leg curls
single leg leg curls
Shoulder presses on a machine that had more two different hand placements -- he made me do 10 on the hammer position bars -- then 10 on the regular military press position bars -- no rest -- then he dropped the weight and made me do another set -- same reps -- no rest -- then he dropped it again - -and we went again, but I died out on the last hand positions. I mean really!! LOL

I think that's all. No wonder I'm getting sick!! :D

Oh wait, I forgot calves -- we kept throwing in sets of standing calve raises -- it was just 90lbs, plus the machine -- but again -- tons of reps.

I told Matt that maybe after the beginning of the year, we could work out twice a week and split legs -- quads/calves on one day and shoulders/hams on another.

Ummmm, the movie........ well............ :p ........... it was okay. The last 25 minutes or so were pretty good. Overall, Brian, Jr. and I really didn't care for the movie. We have both read the books and the books were so much better than the movie. It's definitely not good like Lord of the Rings good or Harry Potter good or Chronicles of Narnia good (by the way, Prince Caspian is coming out this summer.) If you go -- let me know what you think.
