Hi Penney! I'm glad you said that as it reminded me I have a cookout to go to tonight with the USC Men's Basketball team. LOL I don't even watch basketball.
Oooooh, I enjoyed Wicked. Are you enjoying it? It's great on Broadway also! If you don't have the CD, you should get it. I love the music from the musical!

Did I tell you guys that Brittany is thinking about having Cocky and the Tiger at her wedding reception?
I definately vote that you go as COCKY !
Ha,ha -- I post a photo of sexy Hermione and ya'll think I want to be dressed up as a crazy looking bird?
Morning, Peter!
Morning everyone! It's 60 degrees here this morning. That feels so nice after a summer of hot weather.
I have to do morning cardio, then early afternoon go to the gym to do back and light chest, more cardio......
Then later this afternoon/early evening I'm supposed to attend a cookout at the USC basketball team's coach's house. Maybe Cocky will be there and I can knock him over the head and take his outfit. :)
I hope ya'll have a terrific Thursday!!

Thanks to you and your wife, Jay! Brittany is sooooo funny sometimes about what she thinks I'm allowed to wear at my age. :D Of course, I would not wear that outfit in front of my in-laws (very conservative  ) or to hang out with my daughter at the house :D , but if we had a Halloween party to attend, I most certainly would!! :D

You would find plenty of those critters at Kiawah Island. :p My sister has a home in Rose Hill Plantation (Bluffton -- right outside of Hilton Head Island) and they have alligators in their neighborhood. She had to stop her car one evening because one was crossing the street. :D
There is a lot of shopping fun to be had at H.H.I. You need to buy a Gamecock hat so you can wear it on gamedays. :D

Right now, I'm trying to get leaner for my 25th anniversary (which is Thanksgiving weekend). As soon as Thanksgiving gets here, I'm cutting back the cardio fun to three to five times a week and 30 minute sessions until January 3rd!

Good morning everyone!
It's Friday!! Yippeee!!!
I went to the cookout last night at Coach Odom's house (USC head basketball coach) and he is such a nice man. I especially liked that among the unhealthy choices were a salad (which I had with no dressing), green beans and a grilled chicken breast which some guy was standing there grilling, along with a bunch of yummy looking steaks (but I didn't have on of those.)
We were able to meet all the players and they were sweet.
Today, I'm doing prebreakfast cardio fun and then, later, quads and more cardio fun.
Today is also my sweet little girl's birthday!!! She's 23 years old. Time sure flies!
Tomorrow, we're heading to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to see the University of South Carolina Gamecocks play the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. Spurrier is trying to get this to be an every year thing between South Carolina and our sister state, but I don't think it's schedule for a yearly event yet.
GOOOOOOOOO COCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Have fun with Brit's bday! What are you all doing to celebrate?
Thank you! We gave Britt her gifts this morning because she was planning to head to Charleston this weekend to see Loverboy. I think they may be planning her a surprise party (Derrick, Britt's cousin, Kimmie, and some other friends).
LOL!!! I just now saw this!! :D You just love yourself  It's ok I model in the mirror and tell myself I'm pretty hot sometimes :p
Ha,ha!
You didn't happen to meet Janie did you?
I'll have to ask Brian. I'm don't remember her name.
Happy Friday Hibby! Passing up a good steak for chicken....I sure couldn't do that....good job!
Enjoy your day!
Hi Kevin! I actually prefer fish or chicken over red meat most of the time. I do like a good piece of medium rare prime rib occasionally and Brian loves to fix us rib eyes, but I try to get him to buy me sirloin because it's leaner.
Hope you're having a great Friday, Hibs! Have a great weekend!
Thanks, Hoosier! You too!

Workout fun:
Warmup on the treadmill five minutes
Hacks*Now, I went back through my workouts when I got home after my workout to see when I had last done Hacks and the last workout I could find was September 14th:
Hack Squats
15 reps X 160lbs
15 reps X 170lbs Barf
15 reps X 160lbs
15 reps X 160lbs
I obviously have gotten much stronger since then.
Today:
8 reps X 170lbs
8 reps X 190lbs
8 reps X 210lbs
8 reps X 230lbs
8 reps X 250lbs
6 reps X 270lbs
Comments: It just goes to show I shouldn't take my log with me. LOL During contest prep, I think I got these up to 320lbs but that was a younger and stronger woman's body. :D
One legged Leg Presses
8 reps each leg X 135lbs
8 reps each leg X 155lbs
8 reps each leg X 175lbs
Extensions
8 reps X 90lbs *these were bothering my knees, so I moved to the machine I don't normally use
8 reps X 95lbs *still not feeling so hot. I ditched this exercise for today.
DB Sumo Squats
10 reps holding 40lb db
10 reps holding 60lb db
10 reps holding 70lb db
Comments: After that I headed on to do cardio. Later, it struck me that I totally forgot to do calves. Doy.
Cardio
30 minutes on the stairmaster
15 minutes on the bike
Cardio to Date for the week: 4 hours, 5 minutes
Comment: Shiznit!! I wanted to get to five hours this week and I only have one day left -- tomorrow. We're going to the game tomorrow at Chapel Hill so I need to ask Brian what time we're leaving. Maybe I can fit in some pre-breakfast cardio fun.
Happy weekend, guys!!

Ha,ha Izzy -- Britt and I were just discussing how we're too old to find a Gamecock cheerleader outfit. :p They usually just sell those (Halloween costumes, not the real thing) in small children's sizes. :p
My legs will probably get sore later tonight or in the morning. Right now they feel kind of fatigued and tight, but that's about it.

Great leg workout Diane! You're still rocking the Hack Squats - 270 lbs is ALOT of weight to squat up.
Sumo squats look interesting. Those should really target that inner-thigh area. When I did hacks I liked to widen my stance, to work the inner thighs.

Now, for my report from yesterday:
The Good
1. I always like heading north towards North Carolina and Virginia. They are both such beautiful states.
2. North Carolina University has a beautiful campus. I can see why anyone would want to go there.
3. The first half of the game was great! Our defense and offense played very nicely and looked sharp.
4. Funny stuff: While waiting to go into the game, I was sitting on the tailgate of Brian's 4 wheel drive whatever he's driving right now :D sipping on liquid refreshment. ;) I finally tried a Miller Chill and those are yummy! Well, this little dirt vehicle of some sort drove up that was filled up with four men and decorated to the hilt advertising some website.
They stopped and asked if they could take a photo for their website. I said sure and jumped off the back of the truck and hugged up to Brian for the photo. They said, "No honey. Just you. This is for our website's "Babe" page and we don't want him in it." LOL
I have since looked up the web page and am now mortified because the "babes" on that page are all about 18 to 21 years old. Jiminy Crickets if they put me on there the young guys will wonder how their mom made it onto the babe page. LMAO! *sigh*
[P.S. I hope Adrienne does not read this. :D ]
5. North Carolina fans were a nice, but quiet bunch when tailgating.
6. We won.
7. We had a fun time listening to the end of exciting games on the way home -- Cal/Bears, Aub/Ark, Georgia/Vandy and, of course, LSU/Kentucky. Great stuff!
The Bad
1. OMG!! We each had 1/2 a seat and were crammed in their like sardines. That was the worst football viewing situation I've ever experienced. They also had us right by the endzone on the side and the sun shone on our face the entire time. It was hot as Hell with that going on and being cramped up the way we were. I got elbowed in the boob three times. :(
2. The second half. Our poor defense played so hard, but our offense forgot to show up during the second half, which of course woke N.C. right back up again.
Oh, well. It appears the good outweighed the bad. LOL
We had a fun time and are heading out to golf this morning!
When I get home, I'm going to sit around and root on Brian's Cowboys.
Ya'll be good and have a very pleasant Sunday!!

LOL Who would have ever thought that I would have to root against USC playing against Vandy in order for us to have a better chance at winning the SEC. Heck, I may have to root for Florida when they play you all. :(

Ha,ha -- I rooted for ya'll last night in your honor. I guess I won't do that anymore if you're rooting against my Gamecocks! Despite them beating my school Saturday :p
I like the Buckeyes. I just wish they had shown up at last year's NC. I especially liked Ohio State at the 2001 and 2002 Outback Bowls. ;)
Good morning Diane! :) Have allergy stuff going on myself as well...been sneezing like crazy the past few days. Not fun. Looks like your a busy bee as always!
Your team is doing great by the way!
Hi Brian! Thank you!
Morning Diane. No I'm not from NC. I'm orginally from NYC. I spent three years in NC. Loved every minute of it.

Yep, it's a pretty state isn't it?
Good morning Diane.
Congrats on the win this weekend.
I work about 2 mile from Universal.
And Gold's gym is about 3 miles from there.
Good place to get a workout in of you are ever in the area.
Thanks, Eric! I'll remember that!

Thanks, sweetie! That's what Brian said. He said we traveled from morning to midnight on Saturday and then golfed early Saturday morning. He thought my body needed a break also. I always feel guilty when I take breaks, unless it's vacation. Then I have zero problem with taking a break. :D

Well, it seems we are trained as Amercans to thinking taking breaks is a sign of weekness. But the truth is, when it comes to training, breaks are very important.
Believe me, Hibby has nothing to worry about.

10-16-2007, 11:18 AM
Thank you, Hoosier! You are correct. It's so important to rest also.
Today's fun and excitement at the gym.
Warmup 7 minutes on the treadmill
Comment: I was really dragging and there was this super fit cute guy in the gym working out like there was no tomorrow. He was doing decent weights and taking no pauses that I could see. He made me feel like I had to move right along. :D I told him thanks at the end of his workout and he said I was motivating him also. ;) :D
Oh -- and it was another wing it day. I didn't even decide what I was going to lift until I started walking towards the free weight area. Shoulders and calves popped into my mind........
Arnolds
10 reps X 20lb dbs
8 reps X 25lb dbs
8 reps X 25lb dbs
6 reps X 25lb dbs
8 reps X 20lb dbs
Comments: I decided to do a brisk walk around the track between each set because hottie-bo-bottie was jogging around the track holding a 25lb plate. LOL I figured my ass counted as the plate for me. :D
Face Pulls
8 reps X 60lbs
8 reps X 70lbs
8 reps X 80lbs
8 reps X 90lbs
8 reps X 100lbs
Comments: Going any further up in weight on these seems to be impossible as the last set was a challenge keeping my body in position. I feel like I could do heavier weight, however, if it weren't for that. I make sure to pull and squeeze at the back also. It feels good.
Still walking briskly around the track between sets
Candlesticks
8 reps each arm X 15lb dbs
8 reps each arm X 15lb dbs
8 reps each arm X 20lb dbs
Comments: Still walking. Plus, I could go heavier on these if it weren't for my tight left forearm. The thing is driving me insane on some lifts. Pooey, dewie and louis. :D
Superset Cable Side Laterals with Seated Calves
Side Laterals
4 sets X 25lbs X 8 reps each arm
Seated Calves
12 reps X 70lbs
12 reps X 80lbs
12 reps X 80lbs
12 reps X 80lbs
Angled Calves
12 reps X 70lbs
12 reps X 105lbs
12 reps X 105lbs
12 reps X 105lbs
Cardio fun
Stairmaster for 30 minutes
Treadmill for 10 minutes
Comment: This guy on the StepMill beside the stairmaster -- who is kind of cute also -- was just stepping away. He said he pretended he was climbing to heaven on the thing. I told him I felt like I was on the path to Hell when I was on it. He said the path to heaven was much more difficult. True dat. I liked his attitude, but immediately felt guilty for the sex fantasies I had just finished having for hottie bo bottie. :D

Hi Brad! My gym is mostly older people at the time of day I go. I generally head in right after lunch because it's mostly empty at that time. Occasionally, a younger man (meaning 35 or so for me :p walks by that's worth a glance or two. ;) ).
Morning everyone! Happy, happy Wednesday!
I don't know what I'm going to lift today. I'm just all screwed up in the head about my workout schedule. It helps me to be spontaneous when I'm getting bored anyway.
Britt wants me to go to the mall with her at noon, so I'll workout later this afternoon today.

Comments: La-dee-da. A new trainer at the gym who is pretty muscular asked me if I was competing. I said no and he asked me if I had competed. I told him yes and told him the story about my competition fun. He said I looked great and should compete again. I told him I was too old and want grandbabies instead. :D He's planning on doing the North Carolina state show. He was a nice guy.
Cardio Fun
10 minutes on the Step Mill
30 minutes on the Stairmaster
The end.
Edit: Oh wait -- there's more fun and excitement. I signed up for spinning class tomorrow afternoon at 5:30. :D I'll pass out.
Edit edit: Oh and I forgot -- before he asked me if I competed he asked me if I worked there as a trainer. Dude. I wish I saw what others see when they look at me. I see blubber. At least I'm not seeing dead people. LOL

Hi Dave! Thank you so much. He was a real sweetie and has definitely been bitten by the competition bug. He was going on about how it was so difficult to put on size. He's a big boy. He said he'd been working forever (he's 27 -- LOL) and that it was taking so long. I told him he had quite a bit of time left. :D
Morning kiddies! I'm sitting here sipping on java and really feeling like a sleepy head.
I finished a book last night Brian suggested called "I am Legend." It was decent, but nothing to write home about for me. I need to find something new to read today. I have to have a book to read before I go sleepy. It took a while to make it through all seven Harry Potter books and now I feel like I'm in a funk for something to read. I suppose there are plenty of choices out there. :D
All I have on the agenda today for exercise is spinning class at 5:30. I also need to go by the Wal-mart and get a cushioned bike seat because spinning is rough on the hiney unless you have a cushioned seat or bike shorts. I don't want to wear those dorky Kotex bike shorts. :p
I think I'll finally get around to getting my fall closet together today. Woohoo. LOL
Ya'll have a super fantastic day!!

Good morning, Diane! I'm very interested in your reading choices! I also enjoy reading before bed and I'm looking for something new. I just got done re-reading 7-Habits, which is not good bedtime material. :)
I love spin classes! Have you ever tried wearing "Triathlon Shorts". They have a much smaller pad that you hardly notice. (Heck, I've run marathons in them.) :) Check out something at: desotosports (http://www.desotosports.com/home/index.asp).
Good luck with the fall closet. My wife did hers a few weeks ago, but that's the difference between MI and SC. ;)

Morning, Jay! My reading tastes vary a lot. I've loved some books that may seem strange for some like Anne Rice's vampire chronicles (except I hated Memnoch, the Devil) and tales of the Mayfair witches. I also really enjoyed Wicked. The Harry Potter books were great. :p Oh, and another series Brian, Jr. read when he was younger was the Golden Compass, etc. (Although there were a lot of anti-religious jabs by the author.) I believe a movie is coming out near Christmas on that trilogy. I enjoy C.S. Lewis' work. For quick, no brainers I've enjoyed James Patterson's books. Oh, and Stephen King's "It" scared the you know what out of me long ago.
I'm not much on self-help books or the like. I do enjoy spiritual books (My Utmost for His Highest is my favorite devotional) and love reading WWII history stuff. I've also enjoyed a lot of books by Holocaust survivors.
It's hard to think of titles and I read all the time. :p I don't think I'm quite awake yet.
I've never owned triathlon shorts, but I do have several pairs of road bike shorts which are longer. I'll check out the spinning classes first to make sure they're fun at this gym. I remember them being loads of fun, but I noticed the sign up sheets were kind of bare at my current gym. Thanks for the tip on the shorts!
It's still pretty warm here, but when fall does descend upon us it usually happens quickly.
Have a great day!
Nice workout Diane! Gotta love when you go in the gym feeling so so and bust out a great workout and on top of that you get all those well deserved compliments. :D

Wowzers, just looking at your reading list, I realize we have a lot in coommon with books. I had a lot more time to read in university (go figure;)), I read all the Vampire chronicles by Anne Rice-I luved those!
What didn't you like about Memnoch? That he was the devil? I kind of liked Anne's portrayale of him. But definitiely evil.
WW2 and Holocaust stuff is my specialty though. I read that because we should never forget, and never allow that to happen again!

Hi Brian! It does sound like we share reading tastes. Have you read anything good lately?
I think I just didn't like Memnoch because it was very slow to me and it just crossed the line as far as my spirituality is concerned. I enjoyed the other books, but this one just seemed a little odd to me as compared to the other books in the chronicles and it wasn't setting well with my psyche so I abandoned it.
If you haven't read "It" and you enjoyed the other books I mentioned, you should read it. It's great stuff.

Okay, so little B smart mouthed the head fund raiser lady at school today. Mr. Carrion, his orchestra teacher, called to tell me. He said the lady does repeat herself a lot (and believe me she does -- I've heard her) and that she was going over the same information for quite a while and that apparently Brian snapped. (crazy like his momma) Anyway, Mr. Carrion said that once Brian said whatever he said (I'll find that out when he gets home from school) that he immediately looked surprised at himself and started apologizing to the lady, but she would have none of that. :p Mr. Carrion said he was surprised to hear it come out of Brian because he's always so polite (pent up frustration :D ).
Anyhoo, Mr. Carrion said that Brian sincerely apologized and the lady is still upset and that he wasn't sure what she wanted him to do. So, he called to tell me. I told him I would talk to Brian and that he was free to tell the lady that I was going to talk to him and to see if that appeased her. If not, I told him to call me back.
Now, Big B has almost gotten up and walked out on meetings with this lady because she is really not courteous with other people's time. I don't think she does it on purpose but she talks way too much and says the same stuff over and over. She makes me want to tazer myself.
However, that being said, I try my best to teach my children to be respectful to adults. Little B is about to the point where he thinks he's an adult himself (ha,ha), but I still want him to be respectful of other people. If someone is in his face saying F-U or something, then I understand if he wants to get a bit snippy with them.
I think Brian, Jr. is going through a time in his life where he wants to get away to college and is feeling like he's stuck in high school. :p
I wish he'd make it through his senior year with no drama. I'm pre-menopausal and I can't take much more drama. :D
Other stuff:
I made chicken pot pie for my family for tonight.
I've done several loads of laundry.
I've rearranged my closet for fall.
Later, it's Wal-mart for a cushion for my hiney in spinning class and then I'm off to spin.
I hope ya'll are having a lovely day!!

Diane -
I love your journal - it's great reading when I get into work.
Good luck with evil fund-raiser lady. Maybe you could set her up on a date with drive-by inappropriate man? And even more luck with trying to educate your children on being polite to adults who drive you crazy as well!! I don't envy that challenge.
Books...hmmmm
My tastes tend to run on the fringe, for some reason with fiction I tend to be drawn to stories that have serious levels of family dysfunction. If you really want some titles in that area, I'll be happy to oblige.
However, for anyone who is dealing with caring with a parent who has dementia, the book Elder Rage is a very informative read, and written in a highly entertaining fashion. I strongly recommend this book for anyone dealing with these issues.

Glad you enjoyed the spinning class.
That sounds like a lot of fun. :)
Ya know what hib, your kid is a teenager. The high school staff need to accept that fact. It sounds like an impulsive outburst, who knows why, & he apologized. Being a fundraiser, surely she's not that fragile. You've spoken to him. Let's get on with the day-to-day routine is what I'd say, & not blow it out of proportion.

Aww, thank you very much Dave! :) I'm glad someone out there is enjoying all my goings on.
LOL @ setting the fund raiser lady up with Drive By Inappropriate Man. Gosh, I haven't seen him this week. Yay!!
It is hard trying to teach my children what is right when dealing with obnoxious people. Plus, I know he is a teenager and although he is normally well mannered, I'm not naive about teenagers. I want my children to respect others, but I also want them to know that they deserve respect. It's a fine line at their age when dealing with adults. I think some adults just tend to be totally whacked anymore and hopefully I've taught my children some level of discernment.
My father had some trouble with dementia in the last couple of months of his life. I think a lot of it was drug induced as they had put him on Zoloft and other medications for his kidney. It is difficult to handle, but I know there is some humor involved also. You have to maintain a sense of humor or it drives you insane.
I'm appreciative of any other books you may want to recommend. I'm out there on the fringe also. LOL
Hi Diane.

Hi Joe! Thanks -- I know. I talked to Brian and he is usually very responsible and polite -- especially for a teenager. In fact, I didn't even need to bring it up and I knew that would be the case. Brian always tells me when something has happened to stress him during the day. He seems to be a confessor of stressful situations. He also likes to talk when he comes in from school about his day anyway.
After I listened to what had went on -- apparently she had told everyone the fund raiser was mandatory and he raised his hand and told her fund raisers should not be mandatory and that seniors were busy with the college application process, senior projects and quite a few other things -- to which she responded, "Don't you have parents?!" and he told her yes and that we donated a lot and helped with the last few fund raisers. (I told him not to be announcing donations in the future as it sounded uppity and isn't polite!) Anyway, the conversation was not totally rude but not pretty either. :p Apparently, she was getting more and more huffy and he suggested they end the conversation as it seemed to be getting out of line. LOL Now, that is truly the apple not falling far from the tree.
I told him not to be rude to adults at school. He said again that her tone was pretty rude with him, but that he did apologize because he knew he shouldn't talk that way to an adult at school. So, I just told him that all he could do was apologize (and although I didn't tell him this -- perhaps she should have apologized also) and that he wasn't responsible for her accepting his apology. There's nothing you can do if someone won't accept an apology. At least it was made. I also told him that she shouldn't have been so rude to him asking him if he had parents and that fund raisers were not mandatory.
Anyway, I told him to move on and not let it bother him. I guess I handled it well. Our conversations are always conversations and not screaming matches so it wasn't anything dramatic or anything.
I guess the fund raiser lady is just going to have to move on. :p

Lying Awake by Mark Salzman
And then some more popular stuff:
Shalimar the Clown by Salman Rushdie

Good morning, Hibs! :)
It seems like you have a great relationship with your son. I don't look forward to those teenage years, but I hope I'm lucky enough to have a son who is as well-mannered as yours.
Glad you enjoyed your spin class, too. Will you be making this a regular part of your routine now?

Morning, Diane!
Wow! You amaze me! My kids are 5 and 2, so the high school years are still in the horizon. I love what you said about teaching your kids manners to adults. This is an issue for me, because I see SOOO many kids with no respect for elders WHATSOEVER! I'm old-fashioned, I guess. I remember very clearly at the age of ten, I was sitting in the front row of church, mocking the minister's hand gestures (they were silly gestures...I think everyone would agree!); nonetheless, my father noticed my silliness and made me apologize to the pastor TO HIS FACE! I'll never forget that.
And you still had time to make chicken pot pie?! I think I'm in love with you! tee hee
Have a great weekend!

Morning, Kaz! Thank you. I'm close to both of my children. They're both real sweeties.
I've read quite a few of Stephen King's books, but I never read Pet Semetary. I did see the movie. It was crazy. Were you thinking "Crazy Americans" while you read that book? (ha,ha)
Thanks for visiting and thanks for the encouragement. Being a parent has been a true blessing, but sometimes I miss being the child. :p

Hi Dave! If that lady calls me, I'll tell her I have just the man for her to meet....... :D
Thank you so much for the recommendations. I like to check out Amazon.com's short summaries of books and read some of the reader reviews. I've only checked the first few you suggested so far and Middlesex has tweaked my interest the most so far. I've seen that book in the book store and just haven't picked it up. It sounds like it would be entertaining. I just asked Brian, Jr. if he had read it and he said no, but that he has a copy of The Virgin Suicides and he really liked it. His room is like a library/bookstore.
Morning everyone! Man, I was wired last night when I went to bed. I took spinning class without taking a Lipo6 because I figured I'd be up half the night. I still had a hard time coming down from the high and was jabbering away as I went to bed. I'm sure Brian loved that. I ended up sleeping very deeply despite it. I woke up this morning with a little bit of a sore right hip flexor and sore abs.
Later today, I'm going to do back and I'll do quads on Sunday. I think. Nothing I say lately about exercise seems to be set in stone.
It's almost Saturday and that means it's time for some Carolina football!!

Good morning Diane.
I think it's good your son can think for himself. With the peer pressure that goes on in h.s., it's very important that kids can think for themselves, and not be afraid to speak their minds to adults (that is, as long as it's polite) ;) He was polite about it :)
Have a nice day! :)
Good morning Diane. Happy Friday!

Morning, Jay! The middle school years were the exciting years with Brian, Jr. He seemed to grow out of it after that. Brittany made her Junior year in high school happening -- :D -- but is such a doll now. She wasn't rude to people in high school, but she sure joined the "Girls just want to have fun!" train. LOL
I think I am going to spin more regularly. I just love it for some reason! I'm glad I finally checked out a class.
Morning, Diane!

Have a great weekend!
Hi Kimmy! First things first -- I did not have time to make homemade chicken pot pie when my children were 5 and 2! LOL That makes a big difference and I remember how busy those years were. (Fun, but busy!)
I was brought up to respect my elders also. I still say yes ma'am and sir to people all the time. My father was big on respecting people in general. He told us growing up that we shouldn't think we're better than others because we're smart, pretty, well-loved, etc. and that God made all of his children special, regardless of their life circumstances, race, etc.
I have to be honest, however, growing up with 13 siblings I was rather naive as to the level of prejudice, rudeness, etc. in the world. I think we were tribe-like at times and just hung out with each other. I think I was in my early 30s before I figured out that everyone did not share my father's life view. (ha,ha)
What are manners?:( Most of the kids here can't even spell the word.
Good luck tomorrow and have a great weekend.
Hi cutie! I hope your dad's tests continue to come back with good results.
Sorry -- I know it must be rough to work in education at times. I absolutely hate how disrespectful children can be with teachers in school. Just think of what a positive influence you are being molding young minds. :D
Good morning Diane.

Hi Penney! Thanks! Brian, Jr. can definitely think for himself. He's at that age where he's ready to assert his independence also. The kid knows more about the upcoming election candidates than I do. He's so ready to vote. LOL I told him I start listening more about a year out, so I guess it's almost time to have to pay attention to the talking heads and watch mud slinging commercials. Fun, fun.
Good morning Diane. Happy Friday!

Hi Kevin! Thank you. I probably brag on them too much. :p
This weekend is Gamecock football fun!! All through football season, I look forward to going to Gamecock football games or watching them on television and then my Sundays are spent doing a few things in the morning, then switching over to my jammies and watching more football and eventually dozing on the couch. Exciting, huh?
I hope you have a great weekend!

I have employees and managers who repeat themselves all the time. I get the same feelings about tazering myself, before, during and after the meeting. lmao. I would recommend having a meeting that has a specific agenda with time limits. Granted my meetings are business related so its easier to do this. But I would make it clear that you have X amount of time and that in order to cover the key topics we should table any tangent topics for another time. If that doesn't work use the tazer on her. lmao.
Hope your having a great day. I need to drop my book reading list on this thread. Will do that tonight. Be good. :D

Great picture Diane! What were your stats? How long did it take you to get that lean? I hope you don't mind the questions:).
That's my second show, Tiffany, and I believe I competed at 114 to 115lbs and 8.8% body fat. I worked with Pam for six months. The first couple of months, I went from 119lbs/[Edit: 19.3%] body fat to 129lbs/15% bodyfat and then the body weight started going down along with the body fat. It probably would work much better to try to get up to around 140lbs and 15% body fat at my height and then come down, but oh well -- I didn't decide to do the competition until about six months out. I don't have super fond memories of being that lean, but my ass sure looks good. :D
You were in great shape, that's for sure, & no one will argue about it looking good. hehe. Was that the comp from last year when you posted a pic of yourself walking down the street with the traffic stopped? Enjoy your relaxing wkend, hope your guys win.

I have to say that today I was pooped after doing that spinning fun last night!! I dragged myself to the gym finally this afternoon and as is usual when I'm feeling fatigued, I had a strong workout despite feeling that way. I was surprised because I stopped taking creatine about a week or so ago, but am still pretty darn strong.
Warmup on the treadmill for seven minutes
Hammerstrength High Row
8 reps X 45lbs each side
8 reps X 70lbs each side*I think I've been stuck at that weight for a while, so I decide to move onwards and upwards.
6 reps X 80lbs each side
6 reps X 80lbs each side
6 reps X 80lbs each side*woohoo. Go me!
One Arm DB Rows
8 reps each arm X 25lb db
8 reps each arm X 35lb db
8 reps each arm X 45lb db*woohoo. Go me!
5 reps each arm X 50lb db*woohoo and yippee!
6 reps each arm X 40lb db*cooked!
Comments: Little high school or early college aged boys were looking at me like Holy Crap while I was doing those. :D She-Ra!!
Straight Arm Pulldowns
8 reps X 70lbs
8 reps X 80lbs
8 reps X 90lbs
8 reps X 90lbs
Comments: I decided that was enough and I was moving on to cardio fun.
Cardio Fun
30 minutes on the stairmaster at 140bpm
Enough already. I really was feeling last night's spinning class.
So, tomorrow is the game and it's at 12:30 in the afternoon. I was going to do quads/hamstrings on Sunday, but Brian wants to golf so I suppose they'll be happening on Monday.
