tanning

how far out from a show do you guys start tanning.
i'm 11 weeks out right now.

i was thinking it would only take about a month to tan up. but any advice would be appreciated.

I'm pretty white also and I try to tan for about 8 weeks prior to a comp (3-4 days a week). This gives me a nice base and works well. For color I use 1-2 coats of ProTan and 1 coat of Dream Tan #2.

Have you tried that new spray tan that salons offer?

My wife tried the "spray-on" tan from a salon. It works pretty good as a base, but its expensive, something like $25 an application. And you would still need to use Protan/Dream Tan to get your color dark enough.

If you are fair skinned I would recomend you begin lightly tanning two months out. This way you prevent burning yourself. For my last show I did this and then tanned 3 times a week on the last month and every day for the last week. I also used ProTan and Hot Stuff
