Just competed in my first bodybuilding competition this past saturday ,OCB Northern Atlantic States, after 6 months of bodybuilding and 4 months of contest dieting took 2nd place in the teen, 4th in the novice A, and 6th in the Open A. Awesome time and felt great finally getting up on stage, and the post contest binge was enjoyable. Couldn't have done it without the nutritional guidance of layne norton and posing coaching from sean sullivan.
Just wanted to know what fellow competitors do post competition diet wise to bring their bodies back to normal. I just want to start bulking as soon as possible so i can come back next year at 155 and shredded!

Congrats to you Arnold23!!
Did you get the jitters at all before or during prelims? If you did don't worry that will go away by the next time you compete. Now you know how a show works, what to expect and what you need to change for next time.
You should be very proud of your efforts it isn't easy to diet that long. Now the challenge will be coming up in BF and weight only just enough so that you can build more muscle without getting that bloated fat look and then next time you won't have to diet nearly as long as you did this time and your body will remember what you are doing and get in the game a bit quicker.
Again Congrats and I hope you have the bug now!!

im just using a baseline diet to bring myself back to sodium, water, weight, and body back to normal then its time to bulk for 9 months and then get ready for 3 shows. Goal is to hit 155 3% bodyfat for my next comp.

Thanks for the kind words CarolinaGurl, I was actually not nervous at all, i had spent 5 weeks practicing my posing every night so by the time the competition came i was so excited i couldnt sit still backstage, i got many comments on how comfortable and relaxed i looked on stage. Having my friends and family there supporting me also helped a lot. It was a great experience and wish it didnt take so damn long to put on quality muscle. I would compete next week if i could! My goal is to stay around 8-10% bodyfat and i'll be working with two ifpa pro's for my diet and training to really maximize gains!

not hitting the stage for another year, plan on entering the same competition bigger and leaner, then i'll be aiming to hit another show about 2-3 weeks later, and then another 1-2 weeks later. Once the 2007 schedule comes out i will know for sure

I'm not familiar with OCB. Is class "A" based on height or weight? If it is height I'm curious as to what the max height is.

it depends on the size of the show really, we had about 35 competitors overall, and there were 10 novice competitors so anyone 5'9 under was in class a, anyone over 5'9 was in class b, depends on the height of competitors also, basically the 5 tallest and then 5 shortest
