That answerd the Noob question.. yeah id like to see rich get that fight back.. From what i hear he was suffering from the Flu when he fought him. I know fighters dont like to mentin excuses but having a flu and fighting will make ur cardio almost 0..

I heard a rumor about the Flu also, but he wasn't gassed when he got caught with that punch and kick...

Machida has a good record, however it is somewhat deceiving. The Franklin win looks good on paper, but the fight wasn't a great one and until the winning strikes landed, the rest of the fight was pretty even. He beat BJ Penn in a decision with BJ fighting at 205, way too heavy for him, in what was a crap fight also.
His fight with Vernon White last week was average at best...don't expect to see Machida in the UFC soon

If he fought Rich the way he fought Vernon White he'd get smoked inside of two rounds.

well hopefully this fight will be better than when Franklin fought 'The Crow' and chased him around the octagon for 5 rounds...

I hate it when fighters run. Hominick did the same thing against Gurgel a month back and it pissed me off to see hominick win.

indeed the scoring based on agression and ring control doesnt appear to be nearly as important as say .. a take down.. and then doing some lay and pray...

IE Josh 'The Blanket" Koschek or Rashad "Wet Noodle" Evans.

Well, a takedown IS agression and control (don't confuse me for a Koscheck fan though). Hominick literally turned and ran every time Gurgel went for a shoot, though. That's just lame.

no no what I was sayin is that you will score more points with a takedown than you will if your making the other guy run away the whole time and CANT get the takedown.
takedowns are definetly agressive lol.

if you were a fighter would you rather stand there and get taken down, or display your strenghts and avoid getting taken down, making your opponents game a lot harder?
its not lame, its good fighting.

true
but there is a big difference in being defensive with head/body movement, footwork, working angles, counterpunching, clinching, avoiding take downs (ie sprawling), and just straight up running away.

There's a big difference between "standing there and getting taken down" and showing SOME sort of TD defense. Sprawl, parry, something... but literally turning your back and running HALFWAY around the damn octagon is inexcusable. It's bull**** that shows that you are incredibly one-dimensional, and it's a travesty that Hominick didn't lose points for it.
