I have been weight lifting since June 2002. I will be 45 years old in Feb. 2003 and am preparing for my first competition in May 2003. During my training I have worked with a trainer who has monitored my body fat and weight loss and muscle gain. I am on the APEX program so as all bodybuilders/competitors I eat a lot of rice and chicken.

From your experience how do I best prepare for this competition mentally and physically? Can you recommend a good posing video? This has been a dream of mine to do this but I can't get past the fear of not posing thoroughly and effectively. I know my trainer will help me by I thought it would be great to hear another perspective on this topic.

Perfect Posing will get you started......also, attend a few shows to see what it's all about. Start your diet early enough depending on your stats so you don't run out of time, crash diet and stress out. There's a lot to it. lol

Kskil, Mis Fit is right. Go to several shows, get The Olympia tape to see how the pros pose. Paint your Pro-Tan on don't spray it. (it goes up your nose and it stinks) Get a competitive bodybuilder to help you. What looks lean to the general population is soft on stage. You need an educated eye to help you. Get a suit that fits very well and practice posing every day. Pick your music and go for it. Dance like your a goddess. The nite show is mostly for entertainment so entertain! Most of all have fun and relax. And SMILE!
