Unfortunately over the past 2 years or so I have been suffering from alot of anxiety attacks and have to take medication for it. I used to take Ephedra with no issues at all..but now too much caffeine will cause my heart to race out of control! SO..what things should I stay away from? I want to start lifting again and lose some body fat. I drink enegy drinks during the day..one sugar free one in the AM...it helps me focus at work and it curb my appetite alot. Any opinions or info is GREATLY appreciated!!!

I take lots of zoloft to control my anxiety. Ive found that with the Zoloft, stims aren't a problem for me. If your meds arent controlling it as well as they should, I would definitely stay away from stims.

Hi..one supplement I would say to stay away from is Yerba Mate. I was having some major stress in my life and I drank a wack of Yerba Mate tea one day and WOW....I went to work and had a wicked anxiety attack right in front of a customer..it was terrible. NEver touched the stuff again and i stay away from EVERYTHING that has that in it.
I would say stay away from stims in general if you have anxiety..there is already enough pressure on your heart! Try something like Ginseng - it doesn't freak you out like stims do..but it does provide some great overall energy (do the liquid viles - super cheap too!) OR try MACA..tastes like stink..but it boosts energy, libido, immune system...its great!

I can agree with using different forms of Ginseng (adaptogens) for helping with energy:
Siberian
Ashawaganda (Indian)
Panax
Maca (brazilian ginseng)
Rhodiola rosea works well with me and provides Ketosteroids which increases Dhea in the body slightly.
Also invest in a good B-complex which is good for the nervous system/energy and/or bee pollen.
Be mindful that a lot of energy drinks today contain caffeine. I would stay away from NO supps, especially if they contain caffein. Since you want to suppress appetite or lower your fat most sea vegatables are good for upping your metabolism and don't put your heart under stress.
BTW, if you want to fortify your heart you can take Hawthorn berry extract and make sure you get lots of potassium.
Peace.

I'm thinking that you may want to check your local pharmacy.

I take Effexor XR and if I must use it.. Clonopin...for when I REALLY am having an attack or feel one coming on.
I have been eating ALOT better and went from 176 to 164 in about 2 weeks, so thats not bad I would say. I think I may just use creatine and protein...and watch my diet like I have been...with just a little caffeine here and there.

Yeah any caffeine or any stims what so ever are a no no. Yohimbine is something you should never take.

from personal experience, i would say stay away from StimX if you are prone to anxiety. i am as well & can handle caffeine, ephedrine, and other blends, but StimX felt to me like straight up prescription speed. personally it was WAY TOO MUCH to deal with.

All good rec's, Id recommend a 300mg/200mg/100mg mix of Ashwagandha/Rhodiola/Bacopa to anyone for a general well being tonic.
Just for clarification, Suma is Brazilian Ginseng, Maca has been dubbed 'Peruvian Ginseng' though it has no relation to Ginseng by nature.
