I got on the water at 0600. Winds W @ 10 knots or less. Waves 2' or less. Perfect day for Lake Erie.

Walleye was the target. Fished 14-54 FOW pulling jets with stinger spoons. Two yellow birds out as well.

6 hours, no fish. Plenty of marks, but no fish. Radio traffic was the same for everyone...No fish.

Decided to switch to Smallmouth. Hit the discharge at the Nuclear plant, knowing the SM would be there. Tubes, Crawfish, spinners...Nothing! Dropped the Aqua view down and they were there guarding nests. Drop a tube in front of them and they just looked at it.

That's why they call it fishing and not catching :D

That's the way it is sometimes. Not much fun on those days.

Lake erie is beautiful. I went up there last fall and tried fishing. I couldnt catch anything either. It was kind of a letdown, but oh well.

99% of the time we pound them. Pick a species and do well.

Even the Charter boats were getting zip.

Took my little boy and wife fishing yesterday.....It was his first outing in a boat. He had alot of fun and caught 2 perch (we were just trying to catch anything that would bite). I had a good time too, except for the ****tards that were drunk and cussing at the boat ramp. I wanted to say "C'mon guys, I have my 4 yr old son here," but I just stayed silent. I knew that if I said anything it would have gotten ugly and probably would have resorted to fighting. Then what would I have been teaching him? It just ticks me off that you can't even have any kind of family time anymore without being bothered by inconsiderate people.

Here in Ohio, drinking and boating rules are the same as drinking and driving.

I have six children and when I have them with me people like that get under my skin...I rarely am able to hold my tounge. One advantage of being 250plus I guess. Amazing what a "hey keep it clean fellas" can do sometimes ;)
