Rock Climbing ~

any rock climbers here? I've been interested in doing it for a few years now, but for one reason or another haven't been able to. Its another interest that I hope to develop into a hobby of mine.

for the rock climbers, how did u start out? what do u like/dislike about it? any good tips for a newbie :D

Started of at indoor gyms. New a guy who climbed so he got us into it. If you're a chick you shouldn't have a problem meeting guys willing to teach......unless you're fat:).

I do it a bit, im not very into it though, I just boulder for an hour every week or two. Its ok, but I dont really love it. Like most other things, I found that I wasn't improving at all, ofton getting ****ter, plus I didnt like the atmosphere at the indoor wall I guess, and some other things. So in the end, I dont like it much I guess

Rock climbing is so much fun! Indoor climbing is alright, but outdoor is where it's at. You don't have any "markers" or colors telling you where to go or put your hands and feet. It's a real life puzzle that feels very rewarding once you've accomplished your goal or moved up. Man, I haven't been rock climbing in a long time, and I miss it :(

Im a rock climber I have been climbing for 13 years and have been all over the globe doing so. Its my true love in life. I love every thing about. All though many climbers will tell you outdoors is the only way to go with the right people indoor climbing can be a blast aslo. Climbing is my true life calling. I got into to it at the age of 9 when a gym opened near my aunt and she took me the next summer I started climbing outddors in the world famious red river gorge. For any climbing questions or any thing just pm me.

Nice, you ever do any bouldering/ free climbing (no ropes). I only lived in Colorado a short time so I didnt buy all the gear (next time I move up north I will though).

But I liked climbing alot, had a small accident though. I fell while climbing a ledge, Luckily I slowed my fall down by grabbing onto a handhold as I was falling though. After that my friend only wanted to do indoor untill we bought ropes.


Nothing like the feeling when you get to the top of a cliff ehh?
