Do you use a lot of machines or barbells in your workout? To correct uneven growth you may have to work harder on the weaker side while it catches up( use dropsets. negatives etc) and you must use dumbells. So switch bench press to dumbell press and smith machine shoulder press to seated dumbell press and so on.
If you alread do this just work harder on the weaker side.

well i try to incorperate a mixed combination of both free weights and machines. but ill take the advice and try it for a month and see if anything changes. should i check out a personal trainer to get my stats and compare and put me on a routine?. ive always done fairly well on my own just by keeping up on current reading. and i know my body and when it is time to change or modify.

Personal trainers are a waste of money you can get all the information you need through your own research and trial and error. No one knows your body better than yourself.
With your problem switch to free weights and dumbells in particular in all excersices, work the weaker side harder , and make sure your diet and rest is in order than see for yourself if this change makes a difference. If it doesnt then adjust the training techneiques ( this problem seems to be a result of improper training rather than diet or rest) unitl you see a difference.
