Twinlab's "Joint Fuel"

Not only does it provied Glucosamine & Chondroitin, but also other connective tissue precursors such as Vitamin C. After having ACL reconstruction and medial meniscus repair, I took this product to help aleviate tendonitis pain and repair my damaged cartilage.

Does twinlabs joint fuel have a loading period? The ISS Therajoint I'm using says to take double dosage for first 2 weeks then maintain maintenance dose. I've never heard of a loading phase for Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Therajoint definitely has worked for me but it is somewhat expensive (go through a bottle at recommended dosage in 3 weeks) so I am looking to maybe try Twinlabs if it comes out cheaper per serving and is just as effective.

Joint Fuel doesn't mention that I don't think. But I have seen it before, where you take 1.5 gm. GS and .8gm. chondroitin for a while then half it as a maintenance dose. I always took the full amount as I was taking it to heal an injury not prevent one.

definately notice the differance since using flaxseed oil.

in Australia we have a supp called Arthro-aid (750mg glucosamine) which has also been working well.

I've used Schiffs' "Move Free," it's a combo of chondroitin and glucosamine - i had joint aches from lifting more weight than my body could handle... after a month of taking "move free," all the pains had gone and i was back to lifting heavy weights again.

I think any combo of chondroitin and glucosamine will help - "move free" just happens to be sold at costco for a lot less than the other supplements you'll find at places like gnc...

Lately, I have been using GNC brand Glucosamine, MSM, and Chondroitin with average results. Believe it or not, the best I have used so far has been a brand I bought at Target. I used it for a couple weeks and the pains in my neck and shoulder disappeared completely. Unfortunately, I did not save the bottle and I do not know what brand it was. :(

This is the only such product I've tried.

Besides chondroitin, glucosamine and MSM, Elasti-Joint also has a unique hydrolyzed collagen which is naturally rich in hyaluronic acid, hydroxyproline and other connective tissue growth factors.

Hydroxyproline is formed by an enzyme considered to be rate-limiting in the synthesis of collagen, such as occurs in the extracellular matrix of skeletal muscle. Thus, by taking hydroxyproline preformed one can theoretically increase hydroxyproline levels in the muscle tissue to supraphysiological levels.

If you do lots of heavy sets, ElastiJoint is may be useful for recovering the extracellular matrix of your muscles from the millions of tiny rips and tears they incur.

I started taking glucosamine and chondroitin about 3 months ago. The changes are subtle, but I used to have a hard time sleeping because of joint pain in my shoulders after working out. Now I hardly notice it so it must be working. Supposedly, you have to take it for a month before you begin noticing results.

I decided to try straight Glucosamine Sulfate from Optimum, i figured i love their 100% whey, why not try their glucosamine, it was cheaper than other brands on the cyberstore. I must say glucsosamine REALLY works, I had a dislocated shoulder due to a seizure not too long ago and although i've been working out and stuff, my shoulder didn't seem to get better, so I did some research on this site and chose to go for glucosamine sulfate. I was thinkin of getting a glucosamine chondroitin but then I read something about chondroitin not absorbing too well. Anyway after just one month of using it, my shoulder feels almost completely better. I have a greater range of motion on my bad shoulder and it's gettin better noticably. I'm sure any brand glucosamine sulfate would have worked just as well. Glucosamine sulfate worked so well for me that i was really adamant about my father taking it as he's gettin old and feels arthritic pains a lot more now.

It's more for joints but it might help a little. I know that Glucosatrin has a mild anti-inflamatory effect but it's really for joints. Your doctor probalby will give you something for the pain though like Naproxin which is basically like a stronger version of Aleve.

Rick,

develop a daily stretching routine around getting flexability in the hamstrings & lower back.
90% of the time it's lack of flexability through the hammies and lower back and a stength imbalance between the lower back & abs the causes the injury in the first place.

stretch whenever you get time as many times a day as you can.

when i had the same condition i felt much better after a good stretching session.

also plenty of crunches to strengthen the abs. don't do any lower back work if it's a new injury.

this will work in conjunction with the above supps you mentioned.
add some flax or fish oil as well.

As many of you have already said, flaxseed oil, and/or crushed flaxseed (where you get more overall benefits), has served me very well. I also use AST's Proflex 750 which is absolutely awesome. I have had surgeries on both knees about 12 years ago, as well as have given this supplement to a relative who has severe back issues and report incredible results. Also, believe it or not, I make sure I take a tablespoon of honey with one of my meal replacements (AST's NYTro Pro 40 - Strawberry) as it has been known to help recovery in joints and muscle. Also, being a Linus Pauling follower, I megadose Vitamin C. Very good for connective tissue.

I second what Jeff0370 does. Megadosing vitamin c did wonders for my joints. I take at least 3,000mg of Ester-C daily. It worked so well I stopped pouring my money into glucosamine & chondroitin. Since vitamin c helps with the absorption of calcium I also take calcium with it.

whoa, watch out on the vitamin c. more than 2000mg's of the stuff can give you diarhea. for some people, they can tolerate up to 5000mg's but yeah, watch out. good joints may be good but not if you only use them to sit on the toilet because you have the runs.

I work in a drug store, and heard wonderful things from the old ladies with joint problems about this product called FluidJoint. Some said they had tried Glucosamine and Chondroitin and it didnt really work for them, while others had only tried FluidJoint. ALL of the them love it, and come in to buy it regularly. I've had tender knees for years now, because of years of basketball, so I bought a bottle. I've only had it for like 4 days now, and it says to wait 7 to see any effect, so we'll see. The active ingredient is MicroNutrient-2-Immunoglobin-IgG-Antibodies, and it comes in chewable 1000mg tablets that you take 2 in the morning and 2 at night. It is a patented ingredient according to the bottle so it will probably only be found by this company (made by PatentHealth,LLC) and it claims to be more effective than glucosamine. It's rather expensive though, like 25 bucks for 60 tablets (15 days), so if it's not a miracle I probably wont buy it again. I thought it was better than trying glucosamine because glucosamine says to take it for 4-6 weeks for results, so I wouldnt have to wait around.

What makes Procosamine II better?
A powerful, unique blend of glucosamine sulfate, vitamin C, silicon, manganese, and curcuminoids from turmeric make Procosamine II the most effective natural blend available. Procosamine II contains an unmatched 2000 mg of highly potent glucosamine sulfate per daily serving to promote optimal joint health and full joint mobility. In a recent finding by the University Liege in Belgium, 212 patients with knee osteoarthritis who took either 1500 mg of glucosamine sulfate or a placebo on a daily basis over a three-year period, found that the glucosamine treatment stopped deterioration and significantly improved or reduced symptoms.1 In addition, Procosamine II also contains curcuminoids from turmeric extract. Studies show that curcuminoids have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities 2,3 that can help provide effective joint support.

glucosamine cause its cheap and proven effective

no chondroitin since when tested many products didn't contain it in the right amounts or at all(its the more expensive ingredient) and i've yet to see a study that studies chondroitin all by itself, its always w/glucosamine so the benefits could be coming from just glucosamine

msm isn't that great either cause it's a molecule that isn't very stable and breaks down too easily

capsaicin is good for pain relief but takes about 4 weeks to work and will burn for the first week

and don't expect instant releif from glucosamine either, it takes 1-2 months be4 u see a big difference(it takes awhile be4 your cartilidge begins to grow back)

NSAIDS taken for pain, like ibuprofen or naproxen, are good cause they're an analgesic and are anti-inflamatory. But take them w/milk or food and preferably get the enteric coated kind because if u don't take them w/food they will erode your gastric lining and cause ulcers if u are constantly using them(like multiple times a day for weeks at a time). I have a bone spur in my ankle, strained cartialge and inflamation within the area. I also have knee pain and shoulder tightness. I am looking to help regenrate some cartilage within my ankle and knee. WHat should i get ?

Bone spurs are a symptom of calcium deficiency. I would recommend a calcim citrate with magnesium and vitamin D, in addition to any Glucosamine Sulfate.

I used to be a serious distance runner, but several years ago had to stop due to severe knee joint pain. I started taking Osteo Bi-Flex about 6 years ago and within two months the knee pain was gone, but it was very expensive, like $50 for a bottle at Sam's club. I also heard that Chondroitin adversely affects absorbability so I switched two years ago to Spring Valley Glucosamine Sulfate 1000 mg. About $9 for 200 caps at Wal-Mart. I was taking two caps a day, but when I started working out daily 6 months ago, I began to get a little joint pain so I doubled the dose. Six months later, 35 pounds lighter and I still have no joint pain despite some very intense weight and some high impact cardio workouts.

2000mg is not needed 1500mg is the recomended effective dose by doctors

more=better dose not work w/meds or certain supplements

Losing weight,

Every time I bulk up over 210-215, I have to walk around like a geriatric because my knees get very tender. But when my weight goes back to the 190-200 range, I have my usual off and on pains.

I take 5 grams of msm from vitacost.com brand nsi
I also take 1200mg of vegetable glucosamine a day from source naturals.

I've been taking this combo for over a month. I have noticed some increase in flexibility but not too much pain relief. I hope the longer I take it the less the pain will be. I started taking them cause i got in a car accident and hoped they would help me heal better.

does anyone know where to get vegetable glucosamine cheap? I'am allergic to shell fish so I take the vegetable glucosamine cause it's derived from corn. Thanks.

i would have to say Glucosamine Chondroitin would be the best for joint health, but i was actually reading an article about something that blows it away called FLUIDjoint, they are calling it 'human joint oil' and it's supposed to be amazing compared to any other joint health suppliment and it's expected to be coming out withing the next few weeks

Hyaluronic acid in capsule form is definitly worked best for me. I had really bad joint problems in my wrists because I'm a smaller guy who lifts pretty heavy. After a few weeks this stuff completely rid me of joint pain that I was having for years. Unblieveable stuff and no one even mentions it!

TKE JOINT BOOST. 1 capsule three times daily with food. Just look what it has in it, no other product can match it!!

Amount Per Serving: (3 capsules)
Glucosamine Sulfate: 1500mg
Purified Shark Cartilage: 1200mg
(Naturally containing chondroitin sulfate)
MSM (Methyl-sulfonyl-methane): 450mgI'd have to agree with this.
I've had my ACL on my right knee repaired back in the 90's, and I've been able to get back into sports and working out. However, BOTH knees began to feel the effects of age and over-compensation (you're never really back to 100% after a major surgery like that). I've been through different labels, top rankers including Cytosport Joint Complex, Universal Joint Supplement and TKE. Bang for buck, and with the ingredients listed along with overall supplement performance, I'd have to say TKE Joint Boost is pretty awesome.

I've been using Cytosport's new topical joint product, Cytoflex, for the past 3 weeks and so far its been great. It contains both Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and Glucosamine. I've used it on my shoulders and most of my joint pain has gone away. My only complaint is drying time, its about 5 mins, other than that I highly recommend checking it out.

My best friend is a training consultant for a number of pro football players and he gave me something called Exoforce. I think its mainly to boost workout performance but a lot of players use it to save their joints during heavy training. I believe it recently became available to the public because they have a website that seems to allow you to order (exoforcegear.com).

I love it. In my opinion, the best joint support product is one that prevents your joints from hurting in the first place.

One piece of advice that ive gotten from a few doctors and nutritionists alike is that if there is one joint support, its just like the guys said about, a Glucosamine Sulfate and Chondroitin mix.

The one thing they told me that i wouldnt have guessed is that almost all brands are the same. You can measure the strength by miligrams, but as far as the difference between brands go, its not as important. So pimp out the cartilage.

I don't post much but I've had such a dramatic reponse to a product, in such a short time that I had to share.. the Hyaluronic Joint Complex from this site, http://www.no_advertising.com, has really amazed me. Not that this particular brand is the bomb, it just happens to be the one I purchased. Albeit has all the other standard joint compounds in it I'm trying to convince myself it's the Hyaluronic Acid. I didn't have any luck with a glucsamine/msm product from another brand but haven't tried chondroitin either so can't say for sure if it's one ingredient or a combination but my knees haven't felt this good in yrs. And it worked quick, a matter of days, none of this waiting 6 weeks or so.. I've had 2 arthroscopes on my right knee in the last yr and a half and the other ones not much better. Alot of sports thru high school and college, football and track, and of course lifting over the yrs. I'm 42. Anyway just wanted to pass this along. I know how it feels to have crickity knees.

TKE JOINT BOOST. 1 capsule three times daily with food. Just look what it has in it, no other product can match it!!

Amount Per Serving: (3 capsules)
Glucosamine Sulfate: 1500mg
Purified Shark Cartilage: 1200mg
(Naturally containing chondroitin sulfate)
MSM (Methyl-sulfonyl-methane): 450mg
i challenge! :)

i'm very surprised no one's mentioned the 2 products that i take (not cuz i take em, but cuz they are VERY solid products):

please feel free to "rip" apart AND/OR "praise" - i want the best out there, and if there is "better" then please tell me. :)

The first is a product called ArthogenX (by Biogenesis):
Serving Size 4 capsules ArthroGenX
Servings Per Container 30 per serving
Glucosamine sulfate 1500 mg
Chondroitin sulfate 250 mg
Methyl sulfonyl methane (MSM) 500 mg
Cetyl Myristoleate 30 mg
Niacinamide 600 mg
Boswellia serrata gum extract 100 mg
Ginger 50 mg
Turmeric 50 mg
Rosemary 50 mg

The second is a product called ArthoSoothe (by Designs For Health):
*now they must have changed this formula around since i last had the ArthoSoothe (for like the past 1-2 months, i ran out and didn't didn't bother to get more since i had more of the above ArthogenX left) but - correct me if i'm wrong - the ArthoSoothe looks SUPERIOR to the ArthogenX!:

Serving Size: 120 capsules Four capsules contain:

Vitamin B3 (as Niacinamide) 500 mg
Zinc (Zinc Chelazome® Bis-Glycinate Chelate) 10 mg
Selenium (Selenomethionine) 200 mcg
Copper (as Copper Chelazome® Bis-Glycinate Chelate) 1 mg
Manganese 1 mg (as Manganese Chelazome® Bis-Glycinate Chelate) Glucosamine Sulfate 1,000 mg
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) 750 mg
N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) 200 mg
Glycomarine™ (Green Lipped Mussel) 100 mg
Boswellia (Boswellia serrata) (resin) 75 mg [standardized to contain 60% Boswellic Acid]
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) 75 mg [standardized to contain 95% Curcuminoids] Cetyl Myristoleate 30 mg
Hyaluronic Acid 20 mg
Resveratrol (Polygonum cuspidatum) 3 mg [standardized to contain 20% Resveratrol]
Collagen II 2 mg
Other Ingredients: Gelatin (capsule), magnesium stearate.

*one concern i will point out is the (comparatively lower) amount of chondroiton -
in the ArthogenX, (the 1st formula i posted), there is only 250mg/serv. (which seems a lot lower than some other brands out there... but then again, maybe that's all that is need - i haven't really looked into this)...
as far as the ArthoSoothe (the 2nd formula I posted), i do not see any chondroiton listed in the formula (i think the original formula did have like 100mg/serv, which is even less than what's in the ArthogenX), but the ArthoSoothe does have a NICE blend of other good stuff... so maybe i'll stick with it and supplement with chondroiton? any suggestions? i want the best that's out there ppl! :)

Anyone else have any experience with fluidjoint? I'm 25 and recently my knees have started popping and cracking a lot and are weak (i.e. when I bend down, it's hard to get back up). There's not really any pain, it's just that they are weak and of course they sound like a bowl of rice crispies. No recent injuries and I'm not super active in athletics or anything. I've been using osteo-biflex triple strength for about a month now with no improvement. Just wondering about this fluidjoint stuff, or maybe someone knows of something else to try. Thanks,

I've tried multipile joint products, none of them help as much ibuprofen. Prescription Ibuprofen is 800mg = 4 advil. Works like a charm and is affordable. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine is the standard cure for tendonitis. Check it out:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tendonitis
Aspirin is listed, but doesn't work as well for me.

I've also had success with Flax Oil, but after researching, Fish Oil (concentrate) is a better choice for it's EPA and DHA content:
http://www.pdrhealth.com/content/nutrition_health/chapters/fgnt26.shtml
Needless to say, I made the switch to Fish oil. There's all kinds of good information on tendonitis at this link, check it out!

I also take Glycine, since it is the internal amino of collagen:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glycine
I've never taken it stand alone, but I like it as a calming neurotransmittor also. Look it up on PDR Health for more info.

Capzasien cream is a champ too. Warning, it burns!

I had mild success with Liquid Glucosamine + Chrodrotin, but it took weeks. I tried TKE Joint Boost and other powdered glucosamine supps and I personally think they are a waste of money!

Hyaluronic Acid makes sense, I might give that a try, but I'm going to put Cissux RX to the test first. Except, the ibuprofen is working so well, it might have to wait!

I've been taking liquid g/c called 'joint movement' made by symtec, that I found at walmart, for about a week and a half now, so far no results. I'm wondering if g/c is really what I'm needing to be taking as most people that are trying this supplement seem to have joint pain or arthritis symptoms. I don't have these problems, my knees click and pop and my knees are weak sometimes and sometimes they're not. To be honest it's just unsettling to hear them clicking/popping, as they just started doing it about 6 months ago, any advice? thanks,

Pound4pound
03-30-2006, 03:30 PM
The clicking isn't painful right? Just annoying? I have that same thing, everytime I crouch down then come back up they click/pop. If I remember correctly, it's just a rough spot on the back of your patella. Sort of like a lump and as the other bones/cartilage rub over it they click. G/C/MSM won't do anything for that. The only way to fix it is surgery but it REALLY isn't worth it.

prickleferret
03-30-2006, 03:34 PM
yeah, i have the same clicking and popping from time to time. my shoulder is the more painful. sometimes on chest day it gives me troubles but sometimes i can take it out of the equation with focused form. screw surgery, i still make gains in the weight room. i take a glucosamine and MSM product called Joint Boost. i don't really know if it does anything for me. i heard that if you buy a product for joint support that has collagen hydrolysate, you are better off than just glucosamine and MSM.

The Science Behind Body Support Flex

Vitamin B5 and B6

These B vitamins have been indicated in research trials as possibly playing a role in the promotion of joint health.* Specifically, vitamin B6 has been shown in research to help promote the health of the synovium, a sheath of tissue that surrounds tendons at joints.* It is also essential to the maintenance of hyaluronic acid, the lubricant inside of joints, especially the wrist.* In addition, vitamin B6 helps to stimulate the body’s production of cortisone, a natural substance that can impact the effects of swelling.*
Glucosamine is formed when glucose combines with an amino acid. It is a building block for cartilage. Glucosamine sulfate is a form of glucosamine that has some extremely beneficial implications, especially when used to promote the health of connective tissue.* Glucosamine sulfate is a small and simple molecular building block used for building cartilage and lubricating joints.

Glucosamine Sulfate

According to convincing research, glucosamine sulfate plays a role in body repair as well as cartilage building.* By providing joints with the essential raw materials, glucosamine sulfate can help promote cartilage health.* Research shows that it is absorbed into the body much more effectively than other "joint healers." Due to their small size, its molecules, are absorbed at a rate of 98%. When comparing the mere 13% absorption rate of chondroitin sulfate, one can understand why glucosamine sulfate works so well. By stimulating the production of additional synovial fluid, studies show that glucosamine sulfate helps keep joints in the body functioning smoothly.*

Most studies show that supplementing a balanced diet with 500 milligrams three times a day is very effective. A daily serving of Flex provides a generous 2 grams of glucosamine sulfate. There have been no reported cases of toxicity associated with proper dosages of glucosamine sulfate.

Methyl-Sulfonyl-Methane (MSM)

Methyl-Sulfonyl-Methane (MSM) is organic sulfur. It is found in the fluid and tissues of all living organisms. It is also present in a variety of raw foods but is easily lost during moderate food processing. MSM is drastically depleted in foods that have been stored during shipping, refrigerated, or cooked. MSM bonds with moisture and is carried away when dehydration occurs.

In the body, MSM is used to repair damaged cells and to promote growth of healthy new cells.* MSM also makes cell walls more permeable, allowing waste materials to pass through them.*

MSM is an important cell builder and binder of soft tissues in the body. Sulfur has a vital relationship to protein and is found in essential amino acids such as methionine and cystine. It is necessary for collagen synthesis, a vital component in both the skin and the bones, where it knits the minerals together and gives flexibility to them.* It is also important in carbohydrate metabolism.

Phellodendron Amurense Bark Extract

Phellodendron amurense bark extract is derived from a common North American deciduous tree. This extract has been indicated to possess properties that may impact redness, swelling, and heat in joint structures.* This characteristic is in relation to a specific enzyme in the body.

Cyclooxygenase (COX)

Cyclooxygenase (COX) is an enzyme naturally present in our bodies. Scientists have discovered there are two forms of the COX enzyme:

COX-1 is produced widely throughout the body and is involved in the regulation of day-to-day cellular and metabolic activities, such as maintaining stomach lining integrity, regulating blood flow within the kidneys, and balancing platelet function. COX-1 is always present in the body and should not be inhibited.
COX-2 is an enzyme that is necessary for inducing pain. Ideally, the COX-2 enzyme is present in our bodies on a limited basis; however, factors such as diet, trauma, and injury can influence COX-2 production. When COX-2 is produced on a continual basis, constant pain ensues. Therefore, inhibiting COX-2 is an option for muscle and joint discomfort management.*
Phellodendron amurense bark extract has been indicated in research trials to specifically inhibit the action of COX-2,* a natural COX-2 inhibitor. Phellodendron amurense bark extract may have a large impact on body processes involved in how we experience discomfort.*

Enzymes have been known for years to be effective in aiding the body to properly use the nutrients provided in food and other supplements. This is particularly helpful with regard to proper digestion. Equally as important, but not nearly as well known, is the fact that enzymes play a critical role in promoting healthy joints and a healthy response to body inflammation.

Research shows that, in addition to other factors, joint pain and gout stem from undigested proteins and fats which form uric acid crystals that, in turn, get "caught" in joints. Enzymes stimulate the healthy production of cytokines that stop inflammation. They also aid the body in cleaning up undigested food, debris and circulating immune complexes which cause joints to become irritated and swell.

Eniva’s Joint-Zyme is a nutritional enzyme support formula, containing specific nutritional components shown in clinical studies to support the normal and healthy function of joints and overall body health.* By helping keep the body free from inflammation, natural healing and normal joint health can be achieved.*

Flax seed oil seems to be doing the trick for my noisy/week knees. I had tried G/C in the form of osteo biflex, but apparently that wasn't what my body was crying out for. The flax seed oil that I have been using I got at walmart, it's the bottled liquid oil. It is disgusting, and I've only used it probably 3 or 4 times, but man did it do the trick. Infact, I'd say after the first 2-3 days my knees weren't popping and cracking any more. This stuff is great, but be forewarned...it ain't pleasant :) I suppose I could just go with the pills, but from what I've read the oil form is something like 14 times more effective than the pill form. I just pour a teaspoon in about a shot glass full of water, plug my nose and shoot it down :) You'll want to do this RIGHT BEFORE you eat or you'll be tasting/belching this stuff for hours.

Last year I had to have an arthroscopy for my left knee where I had 80% of my medial meniscus removed, and a torn ACL diagnosed. At that point I started taking 'Herb Valley' Glucosamine sulphate tablets (1000mg glucosamine) - comes in a pack of 200 and fairly cheap.
Then had ACL reconstrucion a few weeks later, now my left knee is fine.

Couple of weeks ago though my right knee started feeling a bit like thee was some crud in there, and it 'popped' while kneeling on it (and not in the gym). Having an arthroscopy on this one tomorrow - looks like I've torn the Medial mesiscus on this side too (but knee itself is fine).

So, I can't say if this stuff works or not.

Now, I take cod liver oil (to help with depression), and this is retty aweful stuff as well. I mix it in a shotglass of milk - and follow it up with another shotglass of plain milk. Taste tends not to rebound on me then.

You know Ive tried a few different Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM products. They all work fairly well. I tried a different product for an entirely different reason recently and found it to eliminate any joint pain I had before.

I bought some New Zealand deer velvet antler capsules for GH benefits. I take them at night. I havent took any joint supps for a few months now. I had been botherd by pain in knees, hips, lower back from overlifting, bad mechanics when I was young and dumb. I read into it more and found this supplement is given to animals with joint/bone weakness problems. I wont buy another joint supplement as long as this works like it does. I mean no signs of pain at all. I buy it off ebay for about $25 total. I dont know if the GH properties of deer antler are legit but the joint healing ones I swear by

This stuff is awesome. It has Phanstil glucosamine which is a pharmaceutical grade that is 3Xs as potent as regular glucosamine. It is also micronized for greater absorption. This product is also an anti-inflamatory and you will notice that the pain is gone right away. The best thing in this product is the Green Lipped Muscle. It is more effective that glucosamine and it helps to repair the cartilage and it restores the sonovial fluid that sourrounds the joint. All the info on MultiFlex is on the body building site. It is a little more money that most of the garbage out there but I think it is the best joint product on the market. Most importantly - you will notice a difference.

I shall stop spamming the board! NOW!

Hmmm...let me think; AdvoCare's "Joint Promotion".This product provides an ample amount of Glucosamine (1500mg). Glucosamine is a form of amino sugar that plays a role in cartilage formation and repair. It is an essential building block used as an intermediate substrate in production of cartilage. This also acts as a stimulus to the cells that produce proteoglycans. Joint Promotion also provides gotu kola (100mg) and Studies indicate that it exhibits properties of immune system support, anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidant activity as well as providing support for production of collagen and cartilage. Gotu kola is traditionally employed as a brain tonic for promoting memory, relieving anxiety, promoting relaxation and a positive mood. It is also shown to exhibit positive results on learning and memory. It also has MSM which provides support for the immune system and aids in sulfur metabolism, particularly in connective tissue; and Manganese is also necessary for the activation of enzymes associate with fat, protein, carbohydrate and urea metabolism. AdvoCare products are all I use and would recomend them to everyone. From a person just starting out in a new workout regime to a person that has been active for many years, but are looking for something more. I stand behind the products.

Hey all,

I have a question for Cissus users (or ANYONE who has separated their shoulder!):

Has/did Cissus help your shoulder separation (AC joint), or other LIGAMENTOUS injuries?

Or, for those who have separated their shoulder, what treatment are you confident helped you heal?

I have experience with cissus, I feel it has greatly improved my hip injury, but I'm unsure of how it will help my shoulder...ligaments are a different story, ya know? I plan on continuing my supplementation w/cissus, as well as MSM and as always, lots of Vit.C... I may throw in a G&C product as well, and will up my dosage of fish oil (though I already get lots of omega-3s in my diet). Any other advice? My bulk was cut short due to this injury and I'd like to compete next summer... I need my shoulder back as soon as possible!

Thanks!

Just an FYI fellas to anyone who might be interested, Animal Flex won the 2006 Joint Supplement of the Year here at BB.com: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/univ/flex.html

Do you have an exact dosage of each individual ingredient instead of it as a combination? Kinda hard to compare with other supplements and what I am using now as I know how much is in each ingredient.

I've just started taking Super Cissus Rx since this past Friday and the tendonitis in my knees has gotten much better. In my opnion, it's a great product that I'd recommend to anyone seeking a "good" joint support product.

My ultimate favorite Joint Health Product is Purity Product's HA Joint Formula. I pay about $60 for 2 months worth but it's totally worth it.

I have tried almost everything else, with minimal to no effects. After taking HA J/F in about a week most of my pain cleared up.

I've had some past injuries from h.s. football, martial arts, weight training, etc and my job requires I keep in motion so this stuff is gold to me.

If you had to pick just ONE joint support product, what would be the best one for the best results?

I like GNC's Triflex with MSM, Glucosamine, and Chondroitin. They all unite to preform one large maintenence repair versus individual repair. Fish oils and Omega-3 are also great for lubricating the joints.

[QUOTE=tweaked17]Hey all,

The only thing that helped me out was two cortisone shots 6 months a part and all kind of exercises specifically to strengthen the tenders and muscle holding the should inplace..

I seperated my shoulder, but not enough to cause a tear in the surrounding AC muscles, but it was enough to inflame the bersa and cause a shoulder inpingment

**** im kinda in the same boat.

I'm seeing a bunch of stuff on this thread and i'm not sure what i should get. I separated my shoulder snowboarding and it still bothers me when i lift. My knees also creak from squats at football weights. If anyone knows what would be good for shoulders and knees, that would be great. And sorry to anyone if they think i didn't read it, it's just everyone's saying something else, so i want to know what i should get before i buy the wrong stuff.

Ive tried GNC's Fast Flex (has all the same ingredients of Triflex plus extras). It worked pretty well but I had been hoping for a tiny bit more (vague I know).

Next Ill be trying Animal Flex.

I'm disappointed that you do not specify individually for each ingredients. I would like to know.

That is my biggest gripe with many supplements these days "proprietary blend" , most of the time it is simply to high that they have very little of the most important ingredients :( .

I hear ya and understand where you're coming from bro... That's a decision made over at Corporate. I will say this though--that Animal Flex, along with every other Animal product comes with a 100% money back guarantee. Plus Universal has been in business for close to 25 years. If they were using a "proprietary blend" to, as you say, include "very little of the most important ingredients", then these products would not work. The fact that Universal has been around for nearly a quarter of a century and back every single product with a guarantee should tell you that they are formulating products that are designed to work. Also, check out the review threads for Animal Flex. Between the positive reviews, the fact that Flex is the best-selling product here, the fact that Flex won BB.com's "Joint Supplement of the Year" and everything else I mentioned--that should tell you something. Hopefully that something will override your concern about proprietary blends. Let me know of you have any other questions or concerns bro... Thanks.

It's hard to say, as your definition of a "large" capsule may not seem so to me or anyone else. Overall, compared to Animal Pak, the pills are fewer and on average, smaller. Hope this helps.

With these kinds of products, you definitely have to give it time. It's not like Shock Therapy or Animal Pump where you feel something immediately. Glad you like the Flex bro.

With Flex, as with other products like it, it'll take a few weeks minimum. We generally tell people though that you should feel the difference with the first can.

joint formula supreme by purity products. hands down, it is the best i've tried. the only draw back-it has an anti-inflammatory in it which can inhibit muscle growth (but that's still up for debate).

I feel glucosamine/chondrotin/msm products work well but can take weeks or even months for their full effects to be felt.

Personally, I have had reconstructive knee surgery 10 years ago and occasionally suffer from tendonitis and am always looking for a great joint support supplement.

Recently I began using the Fast Acting Joint formula by Life Extension with amazing results. I honestly felt relief in a couple days. The product appears to alter the body's perception of pain immediately while repairing the joints. And the best part is that you only have to take 1 capsule per day.

Here is some additional info about the product.

The product contains:

300 mg of solubilized keratin, a bioactive form of keratin protein that supplies cysteine and other high-sulfur perecurors needed to quickly rebuild vital joint tissue. It also suppresses pro-inflammatory mediators like prostaglandin E2 that are assoicated with joint degradation, while increasing the activity of anitioxidants such as superoxide dismutase and glutathione that shield Joints against free radical assault.

200 mg of Decursinol-50, a fast acting analgesic and anti-inflammatory compound derived from the herb Korean Angelica. Decursinol-50 goes to work immediately, acting on the central nervous system to the alter the perception of pain while reducing inflammation.

40mg Hyla-Joint, a unique, patented form of Hyaluronic acid that increases the viscosity of the synovial fluid that cushions joint cartilage. Hyla joint protects against joint wear and tear, supplying a patented blend of hyaluronic acid, collagen, and other glycosaminoglycans to lubricate joints and promote rebuilding of joint tissue.
