you cant go wrong with orange triad, especially for price/value. it also has many of the best forms of vitamins/minerals in it, so make sure to compare those to your multi as well ;)
was just looking at it and considering buying it until i saw you must take 6 pills per serving
thats pretty gay. i dont like having to down a ****load of pills for just 1 product when im already taking a couple fish oil pills, some green tea pills, and some weght loss pills.
i dont like to overdo vitamins and i would def be overdoing my vitamins if i took the full serving despite wanting the full serving of the digestion and joint part of the triad.
im stuck :(

its 6 tabs per day (you divide it up with major meals so only 2 or 3 tabs per meal) takes 1-2 seconds and gets you your multi, joint product and digestion/immune aids. if anything, you will save time rather than taking all of those separately ;)
Im goin to give both a shot, flex and triad and see which is better, the one that is better i will take for the long run.
excellent, up for the challenge :) (when comparing also consider price as orange triad is much more than a joint product)

If you had to pick just ONE joint support product, what would be the best one for the best results?
Please pick product and include the brand. Give your reasons...
Product: OsteoSport by Applied Nutriceuticals.
Reasons: OsteoSport is awesome. My knee and hip problems are GONE when I am using it (and it only takes 2-3 days to notice a difference)...In February 2009 I broke my left scaphoid (in two places). 6.5 weeks and 3 casts later, the final cast was removed. Considering that the usual minimum period of being casted for with a scaphoid fracture is 9 weeks, mine coming off after only 6.5 weeks is a big deal. Throughout the entire time (pre, during, and most definitely to continue after during rehabilitation and beyond) my casting I was using OsteoSport. The OsteoSport has definitely contributed to the accelerated healing of my injury. I love this product!

Makes no difference as to whether I am a rep or not; and I actually started using OsteoSport BEFORE I became a rep. I am always honest and objective in my assessment of how a product affects me; and I ONLY use products that WORK and produce RESULTS! Therefore, if I had used something that did a better job re joints, ligaments, tendons, and bone, etc. for me, I would have mentioned that instead.

Yeah, I've been kinda wondering the same. I'm really interested in it, cause I spend money on a multi and money on flex. OT combines both, for less money, but it doesn't have enough in it.
I guess you get what you pay for, yea?

I don't quite understand the additional benefits of blue gene. It seems somewhat interesting. I actually strained my ACL and miniscus about 6 months ago and orange triad as helped relieve some pain but will blue gene actually create a more notacible difference. Also blue gene isn't a test booster is it?

its got everything you need and at a great price. the feedback has been great as well and the vitamin/mineral forms top most other multis in the online store. it also has the digestion/immune aids as well.

I agree. This has saved me surgery on one shoulder. But the disservice is for a faster effect, the dosage should be at least 6mg/day (8 tablets), not 4.5mg/day is been promoted.

Animal Flex, Pak and Omega are the best ones for joint support. Plus exercise and nutrition will give better results (specially for athletes)
One Pak daily from each in divided doses, may be in three or four.

I've been using Orange Triad now for about a week. Great Stuff!
My knee has been bothering me for a long time so it's been hard doing cardio on the treadmill, eliptical etc. I've used numerous knee braces hoping it would help but no luck and I'm lucky to stay on the treadmill for 10 mins until my knee starts acting up.
Ever since I've been taking the vitamins, I haven't experienced any knee pain. I can't say for sure the OT is the cure but so far, so good and no knee pain. Digestive system has been in tip top condition if you know what I mean!!

This Thread was designed to name the best overall joint supplement (means just one). If this is the question then two names come to the mind: Animal Flex and Orange Triad. Because both of them provide almost complete supplemental profile for maximum joint support.
Other brands cant be underestimated, but to get the most out of just single brand, then these two stand rest ahead of other brands.
NOW Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM is also a complete profile joint supplement. But it needs certain other additions, such as a multi.

Hey Controlled rep...just a question...so you guys are saying the Orange Triad is a multi AND joint sup? ....I'm a faithful Flex/Pak user but honestly lately I'm getting sick of taking 17 pills a day between both.
I guess my question is ....is the Orange Triad a suitable replacement for my multi? Or is it a joint sup that just happens to also have some of the same components as a multi. Thanks.

Glucosamine ...1500mg
Chondroitin ...1200mg
MSM .......900mg
Hyaluronic Acid ....30mg
I got it because in addition to a (historically) lousy back, I'm starting to feel a little pain in my right shoulder, and it's not the usual DOMS either. (maybe I'm weird, but I love the feeling of DOMS)
I've been on Naproxen for about a year now (for the back), so I'm not sure how much more I'll get from the supplements.
I'm going to pick up some oil too, but I'm not sure if I should get Flax seed or Fish?

Check out a recent review for Animal Flex:
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?p=341808331#post341808331
"Enough depressing talk, now lets talk today. I have been using animal fles for 1 month now and dammit i am a new man. This is no placebo affect at all. This is real world truth. This is no fake ass magazine article making false claims, this is all true.
I came on these forums seeking help and a few of you universal reps suggested i just give it a try. I figured its so cheap why not. Then when it didnt work i could come on here and tell you all how you were full of it. Well, today i am here to eat my crow and my words because you universal reps and other posters who said it would help were right and i was wrong. Monday i pressed the 100 pounds dumbells with minimal pain. Last Friday i shoulder pressed the 80 pound dumbells with no pain what so ever! If this keeps up i will not only be as strong but stronger than i was before i got hurt. I dont even have to use two hands anyore to bosst up my left arm when i use a hammer machine! You guys have given me my free weights backa nd i can now grow again. Im trying to not get to crazy to fast so im easing back into it but i feel like i can now train like i used to and can grow once again. I am totally blown away by Animal Flex and feel it is a staple for me from now on. Why in the hell i didnt use this stuff before a month ago i will never know. I refused to believe you people and you guys talked me into trying a can of it. As far as im concerned this stuff is a miracle in a can and youve got my respect and business for life. I literally nearly cried when i discovered i could use free weights again and i could train how i choose to. I can now get away from all those damn machines so much. Dont get me wrong machines help and have their place but i dont start with machines, im a free weight guy. Nothing gets me stronger and bigger than using free weights.
I dont know what else to say execpt for the fact that you all were right who told me it would help and im sorry i didnt believe you. Thank you so much for all of you who suggested this to me and thanx to universal reps for being so damn cool. I literally love you guys! You have saved my workout life. The rate im going ill be back to my old self with another can or two of this flex stuff. each week i see myself getting better. I strongly feel this would not have happened had i not decided to use Animal Fles. Something caused the healing process to begin after all this time. This is all ive done differently so i am almost 100% sure it was Animal Flex!
My rating is an official 10 out of 10 on everything
Its even very cost effective so why not use it. This stuff is miracle in a can!"

How does one really know if the joint supplement is working if one doesnt have joint pain to begin with? I use Controlled Labs Orange Triad in the same 2-2-2 or occasionaly 1-1-1-1-1-1 dosage as I did a year ago and my joints feel fantastic. But then again im 24 years old. I guess no pain is good pain with regards to joints, so I like this product. Plus it's easier for me to use an all inclusive multivitamin and joint support then seperate multivitamins and joint supports. Ill post again here when Im in my 40s and let u know if my joints hurt, as of now though, I feel great.

Unless ya did a real study on all the products ya mentioned, I don't see how anyone could give ya a real answer on this... Bioavailability of single ingredients, let alone the entire supp, is more than just a function of the bioavailability of individual ingredients in isolation...

Anyway, I lucked out with the oils. Walgreens had a buy one get one free promotion for "Nature's Bounty" (I think?), so I bought flaxseed oil caps and got free fish oil caps with it, same number of caps. (I think that promotion is still going on)
So I take one flaxseed cap in the morning, and one fish oil at night, (along with my Triflex 3 times a day) and hedge my bets. Best of both worlds! ;)

Compare the formulas. There is a big difference. Animal Flex is a targeted joint supplement formulated for bodybuilders and hard training athletes. We didn't design it to be convenient. We did not compromise the formula. You will see ingredients in Animal Flex that you won't in other joint formulas like patented CMO:
WHAT IS CETYLMYRISTOLEATE ?
Cetyl Myristoleate is an all-natural medium chain fatty acid found in only a small number of very select species of animals. Clinical experience suggests that Cetyl Myristoleate acts as an anti-inflammatory, as well as a surfactant and lubricant for damaged joints. Basically, it makes them more "slippery." This substance holds the promise of being the most effective solution to joint problems of any product ever introduced into the market. It is not habit-forming and contains no harsh chemicals or drugs that can cause side effects. It works in a natural manner by acting at the site of inflammation, is highly resistant to oxidation, it has a relatively long life in the body.
Animal Flex also has a joint support complex that you won't find in other formulas.

orange triad, while it happens to have many complexes/uses, is fully dosed in each. it is perfect for athletes and/or those who lift. you get a convenient and a fully dosed product that has great feedback and works :)

How about that Joint-V by SportPharma? Heard good stuff about that as well. I just bought me some Fish Oil recently from GNC. It tastes like lemon. lol
Joint-V is great for hard training athletes to use as foundational support. It's only $15.99 for a 45 day supply here at bb.com: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/sport/jointv.html
Along with Multi-V, it makes up our foundational Daily V Stack:

Are there any studies that you're aware of that state how much joint support the human body can utilize? I've done searches, but have found nothing. I try to spread apart my servings of OT and Flex as far apart as possible. Basically, 3 OT pills in the morning, Flex around mid/late afternoon, and remaining 3 OT pills late in the PM.
I used Primaforce's cissus. What's a brand you recommend?
Does cissus actually do anything to repair joints, or is the relief people experience from it the analgesic effects, similar to anti-inflammatories?

The complexes are in a proprietary blend so that another company cannot copy the formula. Blends are commonly used for that reason.

the studies suggest the lowest dosages that work the best. anything most isnt necessarily harmful, but neither useful. in regard to cissus, there isnt enough firm evidence to say either way, but the anecdotal feedback has show more than just analgesic benefit

This Celadrin that has been talked about on here in already in Animal Flex? The ingredients are alike aren't they?
I may try NSI - Celeadrink because they give you ALOT for the money. It doesn't have anything else but you get tons of the Celadrin. Some others like Doctors best have that and Borage oil in it but you get about half the amount of servings. I'll get 60 servings of 1080 mg of Celadrin with NSI from vitacost. I was either going to try that for $20 or $28 for Genacol....I need stuff to repair not just give me relief from pain. Plus..I get hand pain from playing games as well....so it's not just joints.

Don't invest in expensive glucosamine supps. There are plenty of very recent studies that show the supp. involved in endurance athletics, bodybuilding, and moderate activity. It has never showed a difference, hardly even a placebo (mental) effect. I think people fall for it because it looks like Glutamine but Glutamine has proven its worth and I take it after long runs and races.

You can also argue that glutamine supplementation is pointless and a placebo. If your a long distance runner most likely you starve your body of fuel and you notice it's effects more then the average person. Same with glucosamine. If you don't have joint issues which you shouldn't at your age you wouldn't notice anything from it. Many people swear by it. I find source naturals glucosamine works well.

Actually got turned onto cissus after trying Blue Gene, when I noticed that my joint pain just kinda went away. I've taken MSM/Glucosamine products for a long time but never did the pain just completely go away like it did on Blue Gene.

1. Animal Flex is award winning--has won every single BB.com award for best joint supp
2. Animal Flex is geared specifically towards lifters--bodybuilders and powerlifters--not granny
3. Animal Flex is a specialized joint supplement and nothing but a joint supplement
4. Animal Flex is the best-selling joint product at BB.com, consistently in the top 35 or so overall products--outselling a lot of snazzy, hyped up bodybuilding supps with no advertising--just word of mouth from believers of the product who have actually used it
5. Animal Flex comes with a full 100% guarantee
6. Animal Flex has support on BB.com forum itself--there are those on the forum side who are critical of "best-sellers" on the BB.com store side. Flex has tremendous following and loyalty among guys on the forum side as well as the store side

I noticed in fitnessman's message that he has a degenerative disk in his neck and takes glucosamine. I, too, have been diagnosed with a dd in my lumbar along with one that has ruptured and has scar tissue. I, unfortunately have to live with these sciatic symptoms for life, because I was told they never go away. After a few months of therapy, I felt great and got back to 100%. Even though it won't go away, that was an awesome time. I was out of work for months and now that I am back, I have been working so much that my energy levels have dropped from all the OT and weird hours and I have been broke and haven't taken my supplement for two weeks. I started to feel symptomatic again, do you think it is the fact that I haven't been taking my glucosamine???

Just a couple of quick questions, never really done must research or even looked up joint supps before. I've had shoulder pain for a while now since throwing a baseball 100+ times a day 5 days a week the wrong way. And my ankles and knees have been cracking for like 4 years. Lately since pulling my quad twice in the last 4 months, both of them took around weeks to heal fully i have had some pains in my knees.
Will one of these supps help a good amount? sorry if this is a very obvious question, i just haven't really thought about it until now.

I just wanted to give Animal Flex my own little testimony. I'm 43 and have lifted off and on for 20 some years. I used to do auto body work and all that sanding cars, lifting, + injuries have ruined my shoulder. I do contracting work now, and just hammering something over my head is very painful. I have not lifted for almost two years now, due to a shoulder that that sometimes hurts so much I have to lift my hand onto the desk to operate the mouse, then lift it again to the keyboard to type.
I could not watch tv with my arm over my head. It would hurt like crazy when I lowered it back to my side. Same way with sleeping, I'd have to tuck my arm into the blankets and leave it by my side or pay the price later if I would fall asleep with it above my head. It clicked and popped all the time. Some days it felt ok with just some pain if I raised it overhead to push something, other days it hurt like hell even lowered. Lifting weights made it worse. Towards the end of my training in early 2008, I had already completely modified my routine to try and avoid pain when lifting.
I have tried all kinds of various joint supplements in the past too, like flax oil, glucosamine condroiten, msm powder, and various others I cannot remember the name of. Nothing did squat, even after months of loyal use, hoping for some kind of improvement.
Anyhow, just three weeks ago I bought some animal flex, as it was recommended to me from a lifter I trust. Almost immediately I felt some results, yet I figured it was simply a placebo effect. After a week, there was about a 30% improvement. I could watch tv with my shoulder over my head for a little while with reduced pain when lowering it back down.
On the second week, it continued to improve each day. Range of motion increased. I noticed the clicking had reduced. By the end of the second week I was sure that the healing was real, and it was not a "good two weeks", and it was not a placebo effect.
On the third week, the healing had slowed down some, but I still noticed improvements every other day. I started lifting and got two workouts in with no regression.
I just started my fourth week and its more about what I am not noticing. There are times where I actually am starting to forget I am injured. Range of motion is good. I can sometimes do things where there is no shoulder pain. If I move it in a large circle I still catch some uncomfortable feelings but I'd say its at least 80% better.
Anyhow, I give it a huge thumbs up. Hopefully I can make a nice comeback to my training and feel like a bodybuilder again, instead of a half crippled up nothing, lol.
Oh and one other benefit, my knees are pretty good, but before I noticed in the mornings going down the stairs to leave for work my knees would be a little stiff and it would hurt a little. Now I roll down the stairs without any problem again, so it has helped there too. My lower back even feels better, it has bothered me for 10 years now. A hot shower and a few hours of work was needed to warm it up, otherwise It would hurt the first half of the day or longer.

cissus shouldnt be used daily, so supplement it separately from the other 3. this is why we didnt add it to OT and instead suggest a cycling stack with it

Animal Pak and Animal Flex will never be the cheapest however other joint supplements don't add up.
Animal Flex is much more comprehensive, it has patented ingredients that other formulas don't like CMO:
Plus:
Joint Support Complex
Ginger Root Extract (Gingerols, Shogaols)
Turmeric Extract (Curcumin)
Boswellia (Boswellic Acid)
Quercetin
Bromelain
Animal Pak & Flex are both award winning formulas

I noticed nobody has said Controlled Labs Orange Triad. this is probably the best and it is at a great price as always from bodybuilding.com. The best thing about this product is your joints feel stronger hours after you take the product and it works miracles, especially if you are in rehabilitation. even if you are not rehabilitating yourself, it keeps your joints solid. just make sure you drink a good bit as always with most supplement.

I would rate others I have tried in order after Elasti Joint as:
2. Animal Flex
3. Now MSM + Glucosamine and chondroitin
4. MetRx Joint Guard
5. USP Super cissus- however a different type of product to be fair.

I do have a question about Triad; why do you use the Beta Carotene form of vitamin A? Just curious, as there seems to be a general movement toward Retinol Palmitate form (most likely for conversion reasons...idk, not a supplement insider).
I purchased some. Looking forward to trying it. Hopeful that it will help my shoulder enough to let me sleep.

I have gone through over 7-8 months of daily dosing Animal Flex and started using Orange Triad about three months ago to compare results after hearing you could get your multi-jointsupp all in one. My experience has been that for extreme joint pain/problems, animal flex was more efficient at reducing the pain and getting me back in the gym. However, for a daily supp that maintained a consistent joint-support and multi, orange triad is great...
Currently I take both, by taking animal flex 2 times a week usually spread out, in addition to orange triad. This might be too much, but its working great for me. I'm recovering from a level 2 ankle sprain and I felt I needed all the support I could get. I'm back in my sports and the gym so no complaints here.
I will continue using both supps.

I took Animal Flex a while back when I had some wrist and shoulder pain. It worked great! I only was on it for the 44 days that come in the bottle.
Solid.
Ive been using Flex now for a couple weeks. My hip and knee pain is gone....really happy so far.
Nice.
i got shoulder surgery last December and took Flex for two months afterwards. i healed so quickly that Uof M medical did a case study on me. i later switched to orange triad and was generally disappointed with every aspect of the supp. so i switched back to optimen and animal flex..... i always say, better to be great at one thing than mediocre at several...triad is the later....
Case study? Serious? One thing I never understood... Why, when ya got a great thing, people change things up. Glad you're back to what works.
My favorite would be animal flex, i have used it for about 2 years and despite alot of elbow and shoulder pain from falling off a ladder, animal flex has greatly diminished the pain in my shoulder and elbow.
Flex is a staple for me as well, along with Pak and Omega.
Animal Flex no doubt about it.
No doubt.
I've tried animal flex and it completely removed my elbow pain. No doctors could, haha. Now I can do triceps in peace.
I'm currenly on orange triad, to save some money and get a multi/joint all in one.
BUT if you have joint pain I would suggest improving your form, lowering poundages to let your tendons or w/e gain some strength, and use animal flex.
After you finish your 44pack animal flex, switch to orange tried.. if you want to..
We hear this a lot... As you said, for "extreme" joint issues, Flex is tough to beat. After all, Flex was designed for the serious lifter and elite bodybuilder, not the weekend warrior. It's a specialty and specialized supp for joints and only joints. Maintenance? That's one thing. For addressing serious issue? Well, that's quite another.
In addition to the the awards Animal Flex has won for "Joint Supplement of the Year" here at BB.com every single year the award was presented (four years running), Flex also won as RX Muscle's "Best Joint Supplemement of the Year" as well. It's clear consumers are speaking out everywhere...

I've gone out and bought some flaxseed oil and glucosamine and as they both do different jobs they are fine to use together. I do though also have loads of cod liver oil tablets floating round, is it worth me doing them aswell? or is it possible that it maybe bad for me to take so much suppliments for my joints?

I just had my 4th surgery on my left knee back in September and my surgeon told me not to do any squating motion heavier than body weight until I can do so with no pain in the knee. Unfortunately that means no deads or leg press either cuz I feel it in the knee as well when I start getting using enough weight to feel it in my legs. He had recommended that I use CosaminDS but I haven't noticed any difference in my knee with it. I've been reading through these forums the last couple days and it seems in this one OT and Animal Flex are the most popular joint supporters. I just got a bottle of ON multi with my order of 100%Whey and Casein so I don't need the multi at this time so I just ordered some Animal Flex. I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of results I'll see and hopefully be able to start doing legs with some weight again. When that and the multi run out I'll be giving OT a try since I really like the other CL products I have and I'll be needing both joint support and a multi anyway at that time. Once I've used both I'll hopefully be able to decide which worked best for me. Money isn't an issue for me so cost per serving, yada yada yada isn't part of the equation, just plain results. It sounds, though that either product is a win win situation compared to others I've tried.

^^^...helped my shoulder in a matter of days (srs). I couldn't believe it. Couldn't sleep because my shoulder would wake me up constantly, doctor wouldn't tell me anything except that I need to stop lifting heavy and take 800mg Ibuprofen, thought this is how I was set to live.
Within a week, I was sleeping through the night! My shoulder felt better that much quicker! I was speechless, and honestly wouldn't have believed it if someone told me it would work that well.

I was going to try Super Cissus RX until people calimed it has steroids in it...which in turn is not really healing the joint....just providing good pain relief....like a cortison shot or something.
I took a bunch of Bioflex supps....Biocell + and my tendonitus appears gone. I also take it much easier in the gym though and really try to be aware of what exactly my body feels like it can or can't do. I'm not a 20 yr old anymore.
Joints feel alot better than they did a year ago...that's for sure.
I was also taking something called http://www.europharmausa.com/products/dyflaminol/
I didn't buy it...but I tried taking my girlfriends dad's stash.... That with Bioflex/biocell+ collagen seemed like a good combo of relief and actual correction of my tendons.

Does anyone know a good joint support supplement that comes in a single-tablet serving. Or something that I could take 1 tablet at a time throughout the day (no more than 3 pills)? I'm not a bodybuilder.

You guys with Tendonitus or Tendonosis need alot of time away from heavy weight or it won't ever get better..... I needed a good 6 months before even touching weights...I looked at some old gym notes and whoa.... I was really cranking out the sets....way to many I think.
I was actually doing 9 sets or 8 and the weight was pretty heavy....then 1 single day...BAM.....ALOT of pain. I don't have any tendonitus anymore though....
I've also taken Celadrin too.... Perhaps that entire bottle helped loosen things up a bit too inthe joint area but I don't think it helped with the tendons. Joints and tendons are quite different I believe. I've read Tendons heal very slowly if they are damaged.

In general a joint supplement is a foundational product that most hard trainers should utilize on a daily basis. The general consensus amongst bb'ers and pl'ers and the like is that an ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure.

Animal Flex is a great product IMO and if you did in fact use it and it helped speed up your recovery I don't see why you'd want to switch back to something else that didn't help to begin with.

I started using some generic brand I found at Costco and stepped up to Flex recently. For someone who is exercising hard and is overweight(like me), your joints take a real beating. For us this type of supp is a must (especially if you are over 30). Animal Flex works incredible I must say. My knees in particular are really thankful I'm taking it.
I also take Animal Omega. Seems to be the only supp of its kind to include CLA in the formula(at least, they are the only ones who print clearly that it has CLA) With other products, you have to buy two different bottle. Animal Omega is the total package. I only mention it here because there doesn't seem to be a "Best Fish Oil/Omega Complex" category in the forum.
