How much weight did you gain in your first week of clean bulking?
Before my bulk I used to weigh in (first thing in the morning) at around 118.
Now, (a week after) I weigh in at 119.5 lbs
I checkd my BF yesterday, and it is still the same.. 20%.

I aim for about .5 a week so guess thats 1-1/2lbs.
Interesting that u say clean bulk, I eat relatively clean but cause I'm bulking I will eat some crap, its hard not too and I've found it actually has helped me gain. Actually I just eat a lot more foods I would usually avoid and lotsa pb sandwiches.
Anyhow good luck, bulking aint easy especially i u try do it clean

Clean = making sure that your gains are primarily lean mass (increasing muscle and mass without having your % bodyfat explode)
Dirty = increasing bodyfat %
But PB sandwiches are good - PB has good fats, protein, etc.

With a clean bulk I have gained about 15lbs since my contest a year ago (12mos) Now, this number includes about 6-7lb of water that is regained so that equals to 8-9 lbs of muscle and fat that has been gained.
As with any diet, even a clean bulk can result in too many calories and too much fat being stored. Gaining 1.5lbs a week for the average person is too much....unless you're severly underweight.
You cannot put lean muslce on at that rate so that means it must be fat/water mostly.
Monitor your progress and know that even if you're eating clean you still have to watch your cals.

well.. I don't think it has been mentioned yet, but what are you doing worrying about the darn scale?! Use a measuring tape (I explain measurements here (http://terracotta2.googlepages.com/measurementtechniques)), and you should still count calories to make sure you are not eating too much over maintenance (I recommend 200-300 calories only).

200 calories per day, total?! I'm guessing you mean 200-300 calories over maintenance ... right? Just trying to clarify for anyone who might stumble across this and think they should have to cut down to 200-300 calories a day.

(ie: you maintain at 1500, so + 200..)

I eat really clean and I see results everyday. What really surprised me is when, last month, I stopped taking creatine... I lost something like 6 pounds keepping the same habits LOL ! I was singing "Miracle" out loud ;)

My bulk has been relatively clean but I'm also trying to put bodyfat on as its only 10% at the moment. Although all I've put on has been muscle mass cause my darn bf levels don't move, so who knows. Guess end of the day we're all different and hey thats a good thing!
I agree with terracotta tho about measurements and I also find I can tell by just looking at myself too
Anyhow good luck too all the bulkers, beats cutting right?
